The staff at Mokena are the most rude (one in particular) I've ever met. They won't give a refund, even if the people behind the counter mistreat you. Their "corporate" called to try and rectify what happened and told me I was right, but still wouldn't give me a refund when in the history have you ever heard such nonsense? I will be telling every single person I know to never go here ever they steal your money they give you faulty products and they treat you like absolute crap. Wow, just wow is all I have to say about this horrible horrible entity. my husband is 64 years old and they refused to let them tan because the information in their system was faulty and we had paid for a full month of tanning and we were only halfway through the month. Don't subject yourself to this time waste ! Do not give them your money. Go tan somewhere else.

I recently returned to this salon after many years away. I had stopped coming when the previous…read moreowner became rude to customers, but I heard the business was under new management and decided to give it another try. The staff I interacted with were kind and professional, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my pedicure experience itself was anything but relaxing. There is a sign posted at the front stating that children are not allowed unless they are being serviced and that strollers and carriers are not permitted. However, during my appointment there was a dog being pushed through the salon in a stroller that barked repeatedly. Aside from the obvious sanitation concerns of animals in a nail salon environment, this was extremely uncomfortable for me personally. I have a longstanding fear of dogs due to childhood trauma, and I spent most of my appointment anxious and on the verge of tears while trying to get through what should have been a relaxing service. To add to the atmosphere, there was also a very loud conversation happening in the next room that carried throughout the salon. I truly wanted to enjoy returning here because the staff were kind, but the experience was tense and stressful instead of peaceful. If policies are posted at the door, they should be applied consistently so that all customers can feel comfortable and have the relaxing experience they came in for.

I went on a Thursday afternoon and was serviced promptly. Standard pricing and they do charge for using a credit card. Friendly conversations I noted with other customers. Quality: 2/5. Pedicure was good, average. I got gel dip and one of my nails was a bit too clumpy. She did not use a cuticle softener nor warm water. Just the tool and her fingernails to push my cuticles back. I give 2 stars instead of 3 because after she was finished with the fingernail clippers and cuticle tool she placed them back in her bin without attempting to wipe them down. I know I'm not paying for top of the line sanitary equipment but come on some basic efforts could have been utilized. For me it was a convenient shop to get my nails done after shopping and it seems they have several loyal customers. But for me I don't have to return, was not above average for me.

I called the store multiple times - no answer. So then I had to call corporate to get it straightened out. I'm also in my 30's sooooo if a millennial is having to write about this - you know it was a bad experience. Corporate told me to go in that it should be there, so I get there, wait in line, and was snottily told I didn't have to, that I should have just picked it up. And I was like right, well, it was already marked off as having been picked up when it wasn't, so I want to make sure it's actually here and you all check it off on your end that it was done successfully. To which I then get an oh.....and of course someone else needed to then be called over because the person had no clue how to handle the situation. Not impressed. Not impressed whatsoever.

They just walk right past you. Which I am not used to at Ulta stores. Usually the employees will come up to me and ask me if I am finding everything OK. This location , they pretty much ignored me. They always acted like they were busy doing something else when they were just walking around. They also do not carry Chanel perfume, which is annoying. One more thing that really annoyed me is they their Stila eyeliner that I use the last three times I have purchased this from them, it has been defective and I'd have to take it back and buy it online.

My lashes had 'kinks' in them and there was no uniformity - some were completely straight, some had slight curl, some were jagged. I knew the result would be less than desirable as she was doing it because she wasn't applying the solution all the way to the ends of the lash. When she was done I told her and the receptionist I was really unhappy and the receptionist ACKNOWLEDGED that my lashes didn't look good and then rudely said 'a 15% discount is the best I can do.' I will never return to this business. Check out Moda Beauty Bar, Trouvaille, Or Bloom Boutique for a great lift at a reasonable price. I also had to deal with that fact that she clearly didn't brush her teeth before coming to work (my appt was at 8 am) so I held my breath as much as I could. This place is just awful.
