So I tan with L. A. Tan EVERY year because that's who my daughters recommended. Well... not Highland IN but New Lenox. I was going to be in that area today so I called to see if I had any specials within my membership. ANGELINE told me I have a spray tan for $22.00. Ok perfect because I couldn't quite afford to do my membership this week. Ok... I'll be in later today I told her. Ok..... So... here I come. And wouldn't you know it... the little smart mouth with the dark hair questions me... oh? Angeline told you that???? And grabs her phone. Here we go!!! No I just picked up that name out of a hat!!!! Well... she couldn't reach whoever she was calling so she proceeds to tell me if I came on a Monday it's $22.00 NO! ANGELINE told me it was $22. Was she gonna give it to me? Nope. I asked for district manager name and phone #. I was told... "I don't know it" Asked for the manager. "Managers not here". Ok.... Give me corporates #!!!! She's pushing me now! Looks me dead in my face and tells me to Google It. I walked out because I have a wedding I need to be at tomorrow. Sooooo I call corporate. Very displeased with the customer service here. Purchased 5 tabs for $40 as a special promotion they were running and thought it was a great deal. Each time I went the service was just decent. About 6 weeks later I went to use my last session and apparently it expired. No one informed me when purchasing the sessions that they would expire. What was even more irritating was the fact that when I informed the girl working the desk that I was not informed that the sessions would expire, she did nothing and offered no compensation for the inconvenience. read more

I went in to use one of my available tans and was asked to see my eyewear. I showed the girl the temporary eyewear I had and was told I had to purchase brand new even though I had only used them once. I said I would purchase new for a dollar and handed her my debit card. She then told me I had to spend 7 dollars in order to use my debit card because I didn't have any cash on me. Not only is that illegal, but I will use my remaining tans and never be back at this business again. When they were signing me up for a package and lotion purchase, not one person asked to see my eyewear. read more

I went here from out of town to get spray tanned for an event. I haven't been spray tanned in years. After a mix up in the booth, my fault, resulting in only 3/4 of my body being sprayed I went back the next day to ask if I could get the one side sprayed. Matthew was excellent. He personally sprayed me, only $5 more than the automatic booth, but did it free of charge. I left with a nice even tan. I recommend having the personal air brush tan instead of the booth. read more

This location doesn't keep up on changing their bulbs. I've told the front desk on 4 occasions but each time I go back the bulbs are still out. Today the bed wouldn't even turn on...The staff doesn't seem to care...Glad my package is over.. read more

There today and the lady at the desk was so rude. I have never written a review but the service was so bad I feel I needed to share. I have been tanning for 10 years there and today the lady eye rolled me. I asked for a certain bed, not for any particular reason other than I happen to like it. I've gone to many L.A. tans between living in Chicago and NWI. This location is by far the worst. I have given this location multiple chances over the past 6 years.. but I've finally reached the final straw. I previously had lived next to the Schererville location which I loved! I was bummed when I move back to the highland area. Bcs I knew once again I would have to deal with that location. I've been paying for a monthly spray tan package for about 2 years. However when I went to the highland location to use it the girl had told be I was too late. Even though the sign next to me clearly stated the last tan time. Which I knew what time that was being a customer for so many years. I then said with this sign says this time. She said yes that's for a regular tanning bed not spray. Mind you anyone who understands a tanning salon knows that a spray takes half the time a bed does... I go that makes absolutely no sense. I believe you are just being lazy Bcs you want to hurry up and leave and not clean the spray tan booth again. I then had her cancel my membership right then and there. This location out of all these years and different employees had the worst staff I've ever seen. Entitled brats with attitude. The incident I just described is one of many here! There needs to be a core course in customer service here. Go down the street to GREEN PLANET! Family ran! Super friendly staff and WAYY better deals!! read more

I was there today and spoke with a very nice girl who gave me a tour of the salon and told me about the daily specials and showed me a couple different products that would help my tan. I have been to several salons in the area and this is by far the cleanest salon and the girl there today was just so nice compared to all the rude stuck up girls that work at other places she just made me feel comfortable. I was at LA Tan in Highland last week and i was treated like I was nothing! The guy at the counter was very upset that I had my own lotion and basically rolled his eyes at me then went on to tell me how the lotions that they sell there are so much better, after he basically dissed my lotion, rolled his eyes at me, and took a phone call while helping me, he sent me to my bed, I have never been there and he rolled his eyes again when I asked him where my room was located! I will never go back again, and my tanning room floor was filthy! there was hair, dust, lotion, and a bandaid! Please do not go there for your own health safety read more

Extremely disappointed with my airbrush spray tan & with the horrible customer service at this establishment. I went in for a spray tan for a wedding I was attending & it was the worst experience. The spray tan went on like goop & wouldn't dry ( I had on no lotion & had showered before I went in as per the instructions when I called to schedule the appointment). I had to leave there with my top halfway folded down because they had another appointment & I couldn't stay to finish drying. It never dried...just ended up glopping off. I called to speak to a manager because there wasn't one on staff when I went in & was informed that there wouldn't be a manager in for another 4 days. When I finally spoke with a manager her solution was for me to come back in & get sprayed again. I didn't want another spray tan! It was an awful & super embarrassing experience & I had wanted it for an occasion. She told me that this was my only option that they do not give refunds. Even though the spray tan technician told her manager that my experience was awful. I had lighter splotches on my chest & back where the spray tan goop came off. A horrible experience made worse by the lack of customer service. read more
