She closes on every single holiday and random weekdays without telling PAYING customers. I had to start going to a new place because she's never open. Owner is also MAGA and says racist things every time I'm in there. I will never come back, especially being the fourth time in ONE MONTH that she's closed at a random time and day when the store says open online and on the door. Ridiculous and I wasted so much gas for nothing. Picture was taken at 945 on a Thursday when they should've already been open for 45 minutes.

I've been a tanner since high school and I'm not afraid to admit it. I mean, the local public pool…read morehas some strange policy about nude sunbathing. Or I think that's what they said. People were so busy yelling about restraining orders or sex offenders list or something...I dunno, I'm not allowed back there anymore... But alas! I found Heatwaves Tanning! First let me say - don't waste your money at LA Tan for God's sake. This place is way better priced and they do not make you pay a reoccurring monthly membership with 4 hoops and the gate of hell to jump through to cancel it (there is cake at the end of the gate of hell I hear though, so there's that..) They simply let me pay for however many visits as I choose and when I come in I use them. If I don't come in for awhile, they are still there waiting for me!! Is it the most posh place? No - that would be 5 stars. But dammit, they have tanning beds and when you get in them, they tan you. They also have big ol' fans right at the foot of each bed. Sure they might not be high tech - but they push cool air up your back side and you usually have to tip 5 bucks in Tijuana for that. I'll tell you what keeps me coming back though, other than the price - is the service. They're nice there. Every time I come in they are happy and engage in conversation if you are in the mood. Sometimes I'm not in the mood....but I guess when you set a precedence for wanting to talk you're kind of stuck living up to that.... But also, once when I got there I forgot my credit card. Instead of making me turn back in shame, they allowed me to tan on the promise that I would call back with my credit card number. HA! Suckers!! No just kidding....I called back and paid. I mean, to me that is small business service at work. I was very grateful. Besides....it's not like I ever want to go back to LA Tan.....they're like the equivalent of a Tijuana Spyglass....and trust me....you don't want to know how much that costs.

I found Illusion Tan randomly while searching online for a tanning salon. I liked the concept of…read morethis spray tan so much that I opted for this rather than a traditional bed. I am very pleased with my results! What's great about this service is that it comes to you. Kelly is very outgoing, friendly, and down to earth and makes you feel comfortable the second you meet her. This was my first time spray tanning and had lots of questions, which she quickly and helpfully answered. Compared to going into a booth, SHE sprays you and controls your color, rather than a booth controlling it for you. Set up time was quick and easy - she did it right in my living room in a pop-up booth that is like a tent. No mess, easy to have done, and very affordable compared to other spray tans. The only possible downside I could see would be for someone who may be uncomfortable having this done partially dressed/fully nude. Kelly is very professional and I would recommend her service.

I had an appointment scheduled for a sew-in/extensions service along with a full acrylic set and…read morelash set. When I arrived, I was told that lashes and acrylics are not done until after 5pm. Unfortunately, this was not communicated ahead of time. I chose the Highland location specifically because it offered acrylic services -- otherwise I would have scheduled at a closer location -- so I really wish this had been clearly communicated, especially since the appointment was for Valentine's Day (02/13). The check-in process was also a bit wonky, and I wish the reception was more responsive when I arrived. I waited at the front desk while staff assisted someone else, and another customer who arrived after me was acknowledged first. I had to ask to be checked in, and that's when I was notified that two of my services would need to be canceled or moved to a later time. My student stylist, Deyonna, was kind, patient, responsive, and caring from start to finish. From the introduction, to washing my hair, to completing the style, she made sure I was comfortable -- she took care not to get me wet during the wash and checked that the clip-ins were not too tight. She kept trying throughout the appointment while learning a new skill, which I truly respect, and made multiple attempts to improve the result, including attempting to adjust and hide the clip-in tracks when I mentioned a few were showing. An instructor did come over to assist, which I appreciated. However, once it was clear the student was struggling, I wish the instructor had stayed for the rest of the process or checked the finished product before leaving. Due to the track placement and my fine hair, the tracks were still visible, and I ended up having to adjust the tracks myself at home. I'm confident that with more experience, especially with parting fine hair and track placement, she will be great at this service. I also called twice the day before to try to add a pedicure to my services but no one answered. Overall, I appreciate the student's effort and professionalism. With clearer scheduling communication, more responsive reception support, and continued instructor involvement through the finish, the experience could be much smoother for future clients at this location.

WOOHOO! Last summer,…read moreMeghan gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life. I am not prone to hyperbole. She is talented. For real. I have only had haircuts from her, but I would let her do whatever she wanted to do to me. Color? Sure. Nails? Sure? Spray tan? Well, I've never been inclined before, but if she suggested it, I'd agree and love it. Lobotomy? Sure, whatever! I thought I'd lost Meghan forever when Salon Rhapsody wrote to me that she had left. After a bit of research and Google Fu, I found Femme Beauty Lounge, and it is adorable. I saw her today and I am so freaking happy to be reunited with her! I am also relieved because I am seeing my mother tomorrow and I knew I really needed a haircut (and didn't want to hear it, frankly). When I got home, I liked the page on Facebook and saw that they post tons of specials (including one for men!) and events, even pictures of their work. I recommend popping onto the FB page to see what's going on!
