So I just want to start off by saying that I live nowhere near this area but my family still does. So when I am staying for at least a week I try to get in at least one tanning session. I have been tanning most of my life. Let me just say that Alayna, the manager at Unlimited Tan should be goated! She is the best manager at any tanning place I have ever met. Not only is she knowledgeable and friendly but she has a personality that lights up a room! Can only buy a package if you give them a card - no cash yet they advertise no commitment. Stopped in because it said $5 in the window - after all was said and done - paid $6.00 more than that for a total of $11.00. It's actually $10.00 to tan for 15 minutes plus I was charged an extra $1.00 for "tax". They make it so confusing to just go in and purchase a tan without all the "non-commitment" jargon. Was willing to shell out $40-$50 cash to buy tannings for a month but you MUST give a card. The $5.00 they advertise on the window is for $10.00 for ten minutes (which is how long it takes for the bed to get hot). The bed I got for 15 minutes (which is the longest you can go in any of the different beds they have) took 10 Minutes to get hot and one of the bulbs was burned out. First time going to a tanning bed and not even being sweaty afterwards. Waste of $11.00. Was hoping it would work out but Won't go back. read more

I have been coming to Unlimited Tan for a little over a year now! Fresh and sparkling clean every time I walk in. I love this place :) The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They will spend time explaining everything before you get started, and always around if you have questions or concerns. If you forget eye protection or want to try a new product... Unlimited Tan has so many choices. I have Lupus and Arthritis!! I use the Red Light Therapy Bed 3 times a week. My joints have never felt better and my skin inflammation is reduced significantly. I have eczema on my legs and the only thing that seems to help clear it up is sunlight or tanning, in my case during the winter months. The value here is great. I appreciate paying $20/month for unlimited tanning over paying $150 for some odd number of minutes and having them expire before I can use them up. My first visit here, the staff was super friendly. The lady spend a lot of time going through all the different packages with me and showed me every single bed. I ended up signing up and my husband asked if he could purchase a single session or see what he thought (only because we were going to California on vacation soon and he was mega white). The lady offered to let him tan for free. They were very knowledgeable and kind. I tanned here for about a year. I never had any issues and the place was always very very clean. At one point my bank sent me a new card for whatever reason, so my payment didn't go through without my knowing. When I came in to tan they were very nice about it, took my new card down, and that was that. I know some companies like to charge you a fee and it was MY error, but they didn't say a word. My husband had signed up for an account and cancelled it a few months ago. He was never charged after canceling, like some of the other reviewers said happened. I cancelled mine last month as we are moving out of the area, and haven't had any issues either. They also have specials and deals, like upgraded packages the first month, getting $10 credit for referring someone, etc. You could probably check their website or FB for that. I had never been tanning before, but with winter coming I really just wanted something to warm me up. My friend and I went to Unlimited Tan and I think this was the best experience I have ever had. Kali (tanning adviser) was working and she was so helpful and very straight up. She didn't give me a sales pitch and she understood that I was on a pretty tight budget. She showed me around taught me how everything worked and gave a lot of great advice. I have been to a lot of tanning salons with friends and unlimited tan has the nicest staff I have ever met. I had an account here in 2008/2009 and cancelled after about six months (just didn't need it). I did not have any problems with them over charging me. I've tanned at both their Lockport and Bourbonnais locations (I have homes in these two areas). Both locations are clean and the staff were helpful. I signed up again this year because I LOVE the VersaSpa spray tan machine they have in Lockport. The only "bummer" I can mention is that their only spray tan option in Bourbonnais is the Mystic Tan machine, which I find highly undesirable. All and all, I'm pretty happy with this establishment and I would recommend it. read more

My wife just returned home from her trip to Unlimited Tan. This morning a charge came up on our debit card from them, about 6 months ago my wife put the account on a freeze which is what they recommend if you are not going to tan for a while. She is now pregnant so obviously cannot tan. She went in to see if she could either refreeze the account or transfer the service to me (her husband). My wife understood it was her fault for forgetting it was coming unfrozen and didn't expect a refund or anything, she merely wanted to see if she had options. Well, as soon as she explained the situation the young lady behind the counter became extremely rude, condescendingly telling her that it's her fault and that there is no way to transfer service or give her money back (something my wife never asked for). Overall the service my wife has received was nothign shy of unprofessional and discourteous. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I am disappointed. I had such hight hopes for this place being it's the only salon around town. I purchased some tans. I only wanted a few for vacation. I was tanning and using their spray on tan. I have had a few spray ons before and I really enjoyed them. One day I went to tan and the facial bulbs, which is one of my favorite parts, wasn't working. I told the blonde girl behind the desk and she just says "ok" as if it really was ok. No apology or anything. When I left that day I noticed she put someone else in there without fixing the bed. Then I decided to spray tan the same day and I didn't feel like I got any color. I mentioned it to the same blonde girl the next time I was in and she made me feel like it was my fault. You would think after spending all that money in there I would get a little bit better of service. Every time I go in there anymore it seems as if it's always someone new and it seems like they don't know what they are doing. I will not return to this store I will not recommend it to anyone. read more

Thanks Mike for the offer of 2 tans to make up for the ones I missed which was 3, by the end of the week. The last one was when I sat in parking lot to wait for when it was time, only to be told there was a 12 minute wait, but I could use a level 1, 2, or 3 bed. I have left voice messages explaining why time was precious to me. However, when I came in to start tanning I told the girl who signed me up that I was leaving on vacation on 8-21. Although I tan there often and the younger staff is great and so upbeat, I decided to cancel my membership because of the older man working there. Not only did he shove sales down my throat, but he wouldn't stop talking long enough for me to take to say no. I could tell other customers were being annoyed, this man seemed to be so unaware of how to actually sell. Unfortunately this wasn't the only time I've tanned when he was working. I have been tanning at this location of unlimited tan for about four years and the management is a complete joke. In the four years i have tanned there, i have seen at least five different managers. This one is by far the most incompetent. The girls behind the counter are always extremely kind and helpful but the management is completely laughable. I recently had a problem with my account and the girl at the counter took my information and told me a manager would get back to me that week. I waited four days with no phone call or email. I called each day and the manager was never in. I am starting to question whether or not a manager actually exists at this store. I finally just decided to go in there and surprisingly the manager was working. I waited at the counter for about three minutes before she even came to greet me. She wasn't even in the store. When she walked in, she was the same girl I saw five or so doors down the strip chatting with someone from another store as i pulled up. Completely unprofessional. The man she was chatting with followed her into the store and watched our whole conversation. It was so uncomfortable and you could tell she was rushed. She was condescending and so overly fake nice. I found it rude. She told me that she didn't know about my situation and was never informed which i assume is completely untrue. I felt so uncomfortable and like i was not welcome. As i left the store, the man and the manager followed me out and went back down the strip mall and continued talking. It was unbelievable. When I asked her for the managers name above her, she told me that she was as high as the chain of command went for that location. She was not wearing a name tag but when i went in to tan the next morning, i asked the girl behind the counter and she informed me that the manager i dealt with name was Liz. She is incompetent and needs a lesson or two in customer service. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My mother recently cancelled her account here because of this manager and her lack of willingness to deal with issues. I am thinking about doing the same. This place is ran by incompetent teenagers. Back in 2009 I thought that I would go here and give it a try. I signed up for their 30 day package, which I was told that I would have to cancel on the 13th of the month, or I would have to pay for another month. For this reason, I told the kid that I would like to deactivate it now, so I wouldn't have to pay for another month. Well the next month rolls on by, and I had stopped going and I kept getting charged. I walked in and spoke to another teenager and told them I wold like to cancel my account, because I no longer wanted to tan. The person told me that everything was good. The very next month I saw that I got charged again. I talked to my bank about this, and they advised me to delete my credit card, since they were unwilling to stop charging me for a service I no longer wanted/needed. Well, It has been more than 3 years, since I last went there and I thought I would give them another try. When I walked in the girl told me that I have an "unpaid balance from 2009!" Can you believe it?! The place still kept charging me for a service even after I deleted my credit card, because they would not deactivate my account! I would NEVER recommend anyone to ever go here, because the people behind the counter have no clue how to deactivate your account, and they will RIP YOU OFF. read more

I agree 100% with Sean S. I bought 2 packages one for my daughter and one for myself. I cancelled both back in September 2012 and expected to be charged for October. It is now January and I'm still being charged. I dispute it every month and my credit card company reimburses me every time. But it is still a hassle!!! I believe it is the incompetence of the staff. Almost every time I went in there it was another group of college kids who clearly have more important things going on because they are always on their phones. The first time I went there I explained I burn very easily and said I wanted to go 5 min. in a level one. While I was being checked in they were laughing a joking. Then another person came and took over for the person who was checking me in because they were going to eat. I went to my room and it started to get really hot so I got out of the bed and realized they put me in for 15 min. I should have ran then!!! read more
