I didn't think that I would have to specifically request a staff member with experience. I assumed that the nail techs were seasoned. I was able to get in the same day that I called. That should have sent up some serious red flags. But I trusted that Nicole's staff would be professional and knowledgeable. I expected her employees would have some experience too. I was quickly booked with Jordyn. She's a young girl with little to no experience. She's been a nail tech at Rumors Salon and Day Spa for a couple years. She was not confident and her lack of experience is shown in the pictures. She was not sanitary either. She did my friend's nails first. We assumed that all of her equipment was sanitary. When it was my turn, I was shocked when she proceeded to do my nails without any sort of sanitization. She proceeded to use the same file and drill bits on me that were used on my friend's nails. She did not clean the nail files or drill after finishing my friend's nails. I had to request that she clean them. I was disgusted!! I found out later from my hair stylist that Jordyn has had a few clients get nail fungus. As a beauty professional, sanitation is extremely important!!! I was told I was classified as a no show, and they tried to call but i didn't get a call. Find out later they wrote down the wrong number. They offered the next day for me to come in, which fine people make mistakes I gave in. I go in for a 1:30 appointment when the salon closes at 2pm (I was not aware nor did they say that isn't enough time) I would have come back if you had relayed your closing time for a good experience. Anyway, I go back in, and the lady sits me right in her shampoo chair. She didn't ask me anything about what i wanted. She only knew i wanted a cut. She does the shampoo, and it is so vigorous that she was actually giving me whiplash and was hitting my neck on the back because she was rushing. I get my hair done often and that's not it's supposed to be. Then she combs my hair out and FINALLY asks what i want. Keep in mind, this is the first she spoke to me besides hi upfront. I tell her I'm here for a lot of hair off and my hair is curly. She says "well you should have said that before so I could have done stuff differently." Ummmm YOU DIDNT ASK ME! There was a lady processing in the chair next me and just looks at us because she witnessed my shampoo and conditioner. Then, I show her a picture of what i want, point to where i want my longest layer in the front and tell her i want a soft U. That didn't make sense to her. She said "well that's confusing." So i said "fine cut it straight" very incompetent. She realized I was irritated and started making small talk because she was near the end of styling and knew it was time for her tip. The entire experience was awful! I wanted a simple hair cut with soft layers and a soft U. The stylist was unprofessional, rude and mean. I have the stylist card, and I certainly never plan on coming back. She cut off 6inches of hair, styled, didn't give me a U, didn't give me a good experience, and i was out of there in 35 min. My eyes started to itch right by the lash line later that night. At 1st I thought no big deal it wasn't that horrible. But then over the next 2 days I noticed one was slightly swelling and that both my eyes were losing excessive eyelashes. I reached out to her and she never responded to me. Then one day later it looked like I was past due for a fill. I reached out to her again she didn't respond. I could see on Instagram that she read my message yet she didn't reach out to me. I've sent another message since & she hasn't responded. I sent a message to the salon, they never responded. I'd also like to mention that I had sent them a message previously with questions about hair color and haircut and it took 7 days for them to respond to that. I do not recommend this salon and I most definitely do not recommend the very unprofessional Emily for eyelashes. She clearly has no clue what she's doing and then she completely ignore a customer when they reach out to her with pictures telling her what was wrong. Unprofessional and very childish.

They even have a small inset area if you had only two in your party and wanted a relaxing, "all to yourself" feel. Never rushed through a pedicure, they do a great job, and the massage chairs feel great. I highly recommend letting your feet get pampered here! Not so positive: I've had my powder dip nails done three times here. After COVID I decided it was time to get back into the swing of things and came with my sister to have them powder dipped. We were both impressed by not only the detail given to the nails, but the fact they held up for the three weeks before I could get back in. When I came back the second time, I had a young man do the next set. I don't want to hurt any feelings, but these nails were god awful. In less than a week, one had popped off. Two more followed shortly after that and by day ten I had all ten off without any prying. Normally they have to apply acetone to loosen the gel, no need this time. Even after that occurred, I still decided to give the benefit of the doubt and returned for another set. I explained my issue to who seems to be the head manager there and he set me up with a nice young woman. She completed my set, charged me ten more dollars than the last appointment, & regretfully had lifting and a break again well before the two week mark. (I work in an office so my nails are not used in any rough way.) With all that said, if you're looking for a pedicure, this is certainly the place to go. Powder dipped nails? Meh, I think I'd try elsewhere. Nails and the upkeep isn't cheap, so when they lift on their own and need fixed after a week, it gets extra expensive.

Cassie was great and did exactly what I asked, quickly and for an extremely reasonable price. The only thing is they take cash or check only so you have to make sure you show up prepared for that. Also, since I was out of town and had no clue how to get to the church (and the google maps directions were sketchy) the owners wound up giving me perfect directions from there to the church. Very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone in the Bradley/Kankakee area!

Another salon in the area taking advantage of people not knowing the difference between gel and acrylic! Do your research before going here and STOP them if you go in for gel full set/refill if they pull out powder and liquid IT'S ACRYLIC. Gel full sets need to have EVERY nail cured with the light immediately after extension is applied for gel nails before polish is even applied. Then, again every time they do a coat of no chip polish. You can tell from my pics they're acrylic and not gel with their poor application. Stay far away from here.

They were very nice people, but I've gotten better, more attractive color from a $10 box at Walgreens. And, heck, everybody makes mistakes, but even when I said it was too dark, daughter assured me that it will dry MUCH lighter. It didn't. Then the mother did that salon thing where other stylist tell you how good it looks, hoping you believe them instead of your own eyes. I went to my car and cried. I went home and tried to fix it. No luck. In fact the picture I have posted of the "after salon look" is brighter in the picture then it looks in person. In person it looks like a dull grey/green. The color I walked in with was closer to the color I wanted then what I walked out with and I was $125.00 poorer. Once again, very nice people but they knew it was a bad color, they should have just said sorry and fixed it. But instead, to add insult to injury, they tried to schmooze me into believing muddy grey/green is attractive. I will never go there again. Money wasted!
