Well after walking through the door that was held open by Jade who turned out to be our server my attitude immediately changed and I kinda knew this was going to be a excellent experience. My 90 year old dad never goes anywhere without his wheelchair which can come with some challenges but Jade took the time to ensure it was not an issue here and made my dad feel comfortable before taking our drink order I had a coca-cola since I was driving and my dad ordered an ice cold Miller Lite in a bottle and a glass of water. The selections here are many but we had decided before we started driving here we both wanted boiled crabs for sure among a few other things. We both ordered a cup of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo to start served with white rice it was absolutely delicious with a dark roux and very flavorful as I expected from these parts. Then the entrées, I knew immediately I wanted the blue point boiled crabs and shrimp with potatoes and corn cooked extra spicy, even though it's messy being the crabs are boiled live and there's work to get to the delicate sweet meat it's worth the effort especially since these blue crabs were very big which made me very happy. My dad decided on the fried shrimp basket that came with fries and a side salad which made me question his choice since I know he loves crab but maybe the blue crabs was a little more work than he wanted to tackle so I ordered him a side of snow crabs which he loves and is much less of a mess, this made him raise his brow but once the food arrived he enjoyed it all not only because it was so delicious but mostly because he and I were sharing a meal that we have enjoyed all my life. The service here was exceptional I know the place wasn't busy but Jade paid extra to ensure we had the best experience and really catered to my dad making this a memorable experience that we both will never forget. This was definitely worth the drive, the food was fresh and delicious and we both left knowing we will do this again - it was a good day...

Every time I fly home, I go to Charlie Ts! Best boudin in the world!…read more I might live in California, but I was born and raised in Breaux Bridge. I've been eating this boudin since I was a kid. The quality and flavor haven't been compromised over the years at all! Each time I come back home, there seems to be another new boudin spot to try, with fancy fillings and a mascot/logo similar to Charlie Ts, but no matter how many I try, Charlie Ts always takes the number one spot! Their formula is just SPOT ON! The service is always great, although I do miss seeing Mr. Charlie in the store. There's nothing like seeing the man who fixed your boudin as a kid still doing the thing he loves! I'm happy for his retirement, but he is forever a part of my childhood! The store is very clean every time I visit, and there's ample parking out front. You will get more options the earlier you go. Trust me, everybody knows Charlie's is the best, so you don't want to wait until the afternoon when there are only a couple boudin balls left. Go early. I personally prefer their classic links and the regular pork boudin balls. The formula is perfect and doesn't really need the bells and whistles, to be honest, but if you prefer a party in your mouth, try the pepperjack cheese or even the spinach and cheese eggroll! They will not disappoint! And I can't forget, their cracklin is the BOMB! If I visit Breaux Bridge and don't bring back some cracklin to my mom in California, she gets cranky! Lol. I also appreciate the frozen options! I was able to fly some frozen boudin home and share with friends who'd never had boudin before. They loved it, and I'm glad I got to introduce them to the BEST :)

Did not mind waiting while walk in customers were seated. Paid 42.00 for 2 sandwiches with sweet potato chips. Meat was spot on. Bread was very dry and would have been redeemed had there been the traditional "olive salad" when I took the top off, both sandwiches had two or three smashed olives. That was all. So dry it was inedible and we had too toss half the sandwiches. Chips tasted stale and like they had been cooked in old oil. So disappointed. The receptionist was great. Next time I will skip this overhyped place and take two extra friends a little further down the road too Myron's where I can feed four people the best burger and onion rings ever for the same price. .

The catfish strips were mostly breading and skin, with very little actual catfish meat. Aany meat found in these strips was like finding a prize. The white beans had no flavor at all. It tasted like they opened a can, dumped it into the tray, and warmed it up. At least they gave a generous amount which I was able to doctor up once I got home. I didn't eat the dressing, but someone else did. She said it was cold at least it had some flavor unlike the beans.I'm not sure if this was a one-day thing or it's now something that's fairly regular. But the food was a lot better when I worked in the area about a decade ago. The food at the Grand Point location is so much better.

The ambiance of the store is very quaint. It's your small town grocery, and has been convenient and reliable for decades! Every time I'm in town, my granny needs me to grab something from Hebert's! I couldn't avoid the place if I tried! The service is always pretty good, and they seem to have always leaned toward younger employees who are still in school or recently graduated. I love that they offer young people job opportunities, as they seem hard for people to come by in Breaux Bridge! I love that the store still offers a customer service window that used to help my gramps and granny with checks. They have an ATM as well. The food and groceries are always good! They pretty much have everything you need as long as you aren't vegan or have any sort of gluten or dairy restrictions! This isn't the store for all that! Lol. But they pretty much are a 1 stop shop, and even have a hot bar for hot foods. I remember lining up for their hot food as a kid. Great memories! And yes, they still have the soda machines outside! This place will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm glad it's being well taken care of.
