I'm always worried that they won't be able to do my fades correctly (salons tend to not know how to use clippers, barbers tend to make me masculine.) but Jason took the time to listen to me and asked me what type of fade and how I wanted the blending. He did a good job. The washing station is at the back of the salon and the shampoo was was good. Soft gentle head massage as she washed and it was pleasing. I didn't get her name but I will ask next time. My only complaint of this whole experience was the smell of the towels they used to wrap my hair in after washing... they smelled like mildew like they weren't properly dried after washing. I removed it from my head immediately and one of the ladies threw it in the hamper. Overall I am happy with my cut today and I might add that the entire service cost $25 so it was affordable! She used a thinning device on my hair instead of scissors, completely disregarded what I told her about the haircut I wanted, and proceeded to destroy my hair. I had to go to another salon to get it fixed. Then she arbitrarily changed the price to $35 - no wash or dry. Be careful if you choose to go there. These people are dishonest and a bunch of crooks. She did an awesome job! I've had long hair for a good 2 years now and needed to cut it a bit shorter than usual. Anna meticulously snipped away until she achieved a beautiful cut that works very well with my face shape, and is easy to maintain. Had a wedding next day and everyone gushed about how nice my hair looked! The place is very modern and chic, on the smaller side. Clean and well kept. There was a fun vibe all around. I was offered a beverage. Paid $130 for my cut, which to me is a bit more than what I'd pay at my local place. However this was a beautiful professional haircut! You can pay cash or credit, tip only cash or venmo. (Hate that I couldn't just add the tip to my credit card charge. Also when I was paying my jacket was just laying piled up clumsily on the counter, it was nothing fancy but it just bothered me.)

I have been a client of Dan's (not regularly, due to a Midwest hiatus) for the last 6+ years. It's obvious to provide someone with a haircut/style and have them leave your salon loving their look; it's skill, time, intention, and a vision that has that same person loving their cut and style months down the line. That is exactly what Dan accomplishes every time. I have unruly, curly hair and Dan consistently cuts it in a fashion that leaves me with no awkward stage or lopsided locks. Most recently I inquired about having a Keratin treatment in an attempt to transform my corky curls into a more relaxed, gentle beach wave. Dan immediately introduced me to Anna who took her time to talk to me about the keratin to be used, what to expect from the treatment, and essentially all the risks, benefits, and alternatives of it. With all the information at hand I went ahead and booked an appointment with Anna for the Keratin treatment. For the final style we decided to use the curling iron vs. a flat iron to ensure my curls didn't completely die but rather encourage them to retain that nice wave. It looked amazing! She did an exceptional job and was super attentive throughout the appointment. She talked me through each step and made sure I was comfortable the whole time.
