Without using hyperbole, for something intrinsic to a military family as movers, I would say A Plus…read moreMoving & Contracting is the ABSOLUTE BEST moving company (for value) we have EVER used. COMMUNICATION: I was incredibly skeptical in finding a moving company via YELP. My go-to movers in Washington, D.C. have always been Bookstore Movers and they were not available on my date and time. So I went to YELP with a great deal of hesitation. I don't use YELP. Literally my previous review was for a moving company. Aaron with A Plus Moving & Contracting quickly responded to my generalized post requesting movers. He was very communicative -- literally messaging me within minutes of my post. (By-the-way, he was just as communicative throughout the process.) PRICING: Aaron quoted me $110/hour for two movers. Labor only. No up-charge or set minimum for labor. He did not charge us for a moving truck, which is baloney because if you don't need a moving truck why should you have to pay for it?!? He only charged for his work. He did charge for one hour of travel but that is standard in the business. TIMELINESS: You know how movers "milk the clock" because they want to be paid more?? That was not Aaron and his team. His men arrive on time (!!), even 15 minutes early (are you kidding me!! mover arriving early), and they worked diligently throughout the 2 1/2 hours we needed them. Aaron himself came along with one more guy -- for a total of four guys -- to help with our bulky Restoration Hardware bedroom furniture at the end of the two hours. Aaron did not charge extra for having four movers. ATTITUDE: I think, in life, attitude is everything. Aaron and his team were professional, courteous and hardworking. I am just so impressed -- and we were able to contrast that ONSITE because the building we moved into had EIGHT (!!!) moves the day we moved in so I was able to contrast what our team did verses other movers. PROFESSIONALISM: Nothing broke. They are insured. Everything was placed exactly where we wanted them without complaint. OVERALL IMPRESSION: We are a military family and so we move a lot. My husband moved at least four time in the last ten years -- and because I work in politics, I have moved 15 times in the last 20 years -- so we have a substantial base of being able to evaluate movers. I would recommend Aaron for almost anything. He is an honest person. WE HAVE NO RELATIONSHIP WITH AARON. WE NEVER MET HIM BEFORE. HE IS AMAZING. USE HIM. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

The other thing I appreciated about this company was the incredible communication. I initially got a quote over the phone which was followed by an email laying out what we discussed (he also sent a 2 page PDF of moving tips which was really helpful). Malik reiterated the moving date and time via text and made sure we had each other's phone numbers on moving day. The communication and professionalism was wow - amazing. They turned what had been looking like a grim move into quite a pleasant experience. (whoever says THAT about moving?) We will absolutely use them again. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.
