I booked and paid online ( Jun 17th) and called the company the next day (Jun 18th) to confirm the time and date. They assured me everything was good to go. That was the last I heard from them until the morning of the move. Concerned by the lack of communication, I started calling at 6:00 AM. No answer. Called again at 7:00 AM and still nothing. No one returned my calls, no confirmation, no notice of any issues. At 8:00 AM, when the move was supposed to begin, the first mover, Delante, called and arrived. He was the only saving grace of this entire experience; polite, hardworking, and clearly caught in the middle of a mess he didn't create. He told me he had no idea where the second mover was. Shortly after, I finally got a call, not from the second mover, but from the owner, questioning why I had called earlier that morning. Instead of apologizing for the confusion or delay, he told me the second mover was injured and asked for patience and understanding because he's a small business. That excuse doesn't cut it. You're a business. I paid for a service. If you can't deliver it, you need to communicate and make it right, not guilt trip your customer. Even worse, I later found out that when the owner was finally made aware of the second mover's injuries, he reportedly told Delante to walk off the job and cancel on me entirely. Who does that? Leaving someone stranded on moving day, knowing full well that most people book moving services because they don't have support, is inhumane and shows zero professionalism. Delante stayed and did what he could, but one person handling a two-person job made the process slower and much more stressful. I ended up having to pay for additional time, despite the delays being the company's fault. No discount, no refund, not even a sincere apology. An alternate mover eventually showed up at 10:00 AM, two hours after my start time. What could've been done in 3 hours with two people ended up eating my entire day. I had to call in help from my ex-boyfriend, brother, and roommate just to get through it. The owner was dismissive, unapologetic, inconsiderate, and clearly more concerned with defending himself than doing right by a paying customer. I will never use this company again and do not recommend them to anyone. Delante was the only professional involved and the owner should be ashamed of how he runs this operation. If this is what qualifies as a "top-rated" service, I can't imagine what the bottom looks like.

Actually, I called the previous week to see what my moving day was. I now know this is a last minute scheduling thing. Horrible. Leaves you hanging. I talked to their supervisor and Ashley said I had agreed to be flexible. I said I was flexible with the dates, but I was not flexible with not knowing. Thursday came. I had 1 day to move before closing at 9 the next day. I called and called. Josh finally said he had scheduled someone. At 10:32 he gave me the name of Hands On Moving. I called them. Same runaround. He said between 10 and 2. I called for confirmation. Hands On Moving said he was still trying to get in contact "with his guys". My husband and I didn't know if we should schedule another mover or not, as maybe they will still show up. I checked my bank account and they had pulled the money from my account. Now if we schedule another mover we pay twice. Hanging. Hanging. Finally at 3:30 p.m. Ashley called to say there was a problem with Hands On Moving and they couldn't move us today, but told me they would refund my money and to have a nice day. We now have 8 hours to find a mover and move. Don't put yourself through this.

First of all, they were at my house 15 minutes prior to our scheduled time and texted me, to let me know, that they're outside and to take my time, if I wasn't ready yet. As everyone is aware, moving is never easy and one's never ready and is always late lol. But iMove and the crew made it so easy and took over of packing of TV, piano and little things like vases and plates. My wife was so worried about the piano, that it would get scratched and so on, but since these guys are professionals, the piano was delivered in one piece and not even one scratch!!! Do not hire this company unless you want your furniture damaged. Rick will not accept any responsibility. I wish that my leasing manager had never referred this company to me. Moving is already a stressful and tedious task. I had several conversations with Rick prior to hiring his services. I conveyed to him that the government initially packed and delivered my household goods to a temporary apartment and placed the remaining items in an on-site storage facility until the renovations were complete for my initial apartment. I told Rick that I needed his company to move my possessions from second floor to the 1st floor. During our conversations, I told Rick my expectations were as follows: disassemble and reassemble my furniture, retrieve my property from the onsite storage, unpack boxes previously packed by government contractors, remove the boxes after unpacking, unplug my home entertainment system and setup my system. Because I didn't want to be overwhelmed with the move, I was clear about my expectations. Rick assured me that he could fulfill all of them. The service that I received from Rick's Moving Service was deplorable. He had three workers assisting with the move. As a moving service, they did not arrive with necessary moving materials such as boxes, packing tape, box cutters, padding, markers (all items that you would expect a moving company to have in their possession). One of Rick's workers constantly complained about the furniture being heavy and everything under the sun; the complaining was over the top. A second worker appeared high. In fact, he moved slower than a sloth saddled with molasses in quick sand. Rick said, "I don't know the guy but decided to give him a chance because he needed to provide for his family." What I don't understand why would Rick he didn't know, especially when he could cannot attest to his work ethics. The ineffectiveness of the second worker was unsettling. I had pictures of my furniture before Rick's moving company actually started the move. Two of his workers moved my sofa and love seat from the second floor to the first floor. As Rick and I were waiting for his workers on the 1st floor with the furniture, I could hear loud noises in the service elevator. Because it was taking the workers an exceptionally long time to arrive on the 1st floor, Rick called one of them from his cell phone to locate them. It was just a nightmare from Haedes. Once the workers finally placed my furniture in the apartment, I told Rick that his workers badly damaged my couches when transporting them between floors. Rick said, "We didn't see it, so we don't know what happened. I replied, "Well, I know what my furniture looked like before they moved it" I also showed him the defects immediately thereafter. Rick tried to suggest that the damage was old. I was very appalled by his accusation. Rick's workers also damaged my table top to my dinette set. I inspected it before the government movers placed it in storage and then they replaced the padding on the table for protection. I purchased my furniture in February 2020. In May 2020, the government contractors completely padded my furniture before shipping and placing it in storage. On July 28, 2020, when the contractors delivered my furniture it was not damaged as it is now. Rick tried to suggest that the damage was old, which was quite offensive. As a resolution, Rick recommended using a furniture pen as a filer to color in the the damages. I told Rick that "This is brand new furniture and I am not going to use a ghetto fix to repair it." Now, I will have to hire a company to restore it based on the damages your workers caused." I am not materialistic. I just believe in taking care of the blessings from God. My furniture is heavy and of very great quality. The purpose of hiring a moving company was to maintain its condition and not be overwhelmed. Rick's Moving Service did not live up to his promise. Rick had the audacity to text me the following message Friday night "Hey just wanted to say thanks for ur business and if you need me im only a phone call away" At 12.38 am I responded as follows: "Thank you. I am still unpacking boxes. I'm looking for my phone charger before my phone dies." At 12:39 am Rick's response was "Don't over work urself its still tomorrow." I spent Friday night, Saturday and Sunday moving stuff from the kitchen between apartments along with unpacking boxes and disposing the remnants in the recycle bins. Sadly, I am still unpacking and removing boxes. On Monday, the owner from Smart TVInstall restored my entertainment center so that it functions properly, which was an additional expense caused by Rick's Moving Service. Save yourself some aggravation and frustration. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! YOU'LL REGRET IT!
