I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to try it. A decent sushi place in the very center of the most touristy part of the city, down the street from the Vodka Museum and the Sex Museum? But Syl's review sold it. And he's right! Really decent sushi and at a pretty good price. €21 for an all-you-can-eat dinner and believe me, I got value out of it. (They also do a €25 "deluxe", but I did fine with the "basic".) The food kept coming and there was no hesitation when I ordered a fourth round. The menu is pretty clear, with pictures of the food and the numbers. Just order away. Don't go completely crazy because you do have to eat everything you order. There's no take-away at the end. I had temaki (loaded with smoked eel!), gunkan with roe, and just a ton of salmon, tuna, octopus and even mackerel. Sitting at the bar, I could see it being prepared and it's all very clean and very organized. Note: I had a Kirin, figuring Japanese beer with Japanese food. Since Amsterdam isn't Japan, Kirin is imported. €4 for sticker shock! That's like $5.50 in real money! No wifi, but the TV behind the sushi bar was tuned to the Eurosports channel. for a japanese place inside centraal station, i would say this place is not bad. gave it 4 stars coz the food was above average...portions were generous...staff was very nice....prices were typical...and ambiance was amazing for train station standards...but the best part was the view from the dining room. i have to give kudos to my server too for helping me out with directions by using his own phone and even writing it down on paper for me. plus, he also engaged my son and chatted about online gaming...made us feel really welcome and at home. ordered the pork shoyu ramen + chicken gyoza for side dish ( lunch promo) yakitori w/ rice and soup, beef teri on rice and soup, and "waffu" steak with rice and soup.... ramens broth was aromatic and rich...a little on the salty side though so more water was need...noodles were cooked perfectly , shoyu pork was tender and succulent, soft boiled egg was done right as well. only funny thing i noticed is they placed bok choy in it...lol. never seen bok choy on ramen, but maybe thats the chinese touch given by the owners whom i think could be chinese/viet . chicken gyoza was done right too...crispy bottom and served with a tangy dipping sauce. beef teri was done well too. good portion. came pipping hot and flavour was there. miso soup was good too. chicken yakitori came with 3 sticks and generous chicken chunks...chicken was not seasoned that well. would taste bland without the sauce for sure. but overall, it was satisfying and not bad. the beef "waffu" was really a piece of steak with sauce...steak was done well..tender and seasoned well. sauce did not overpower the steak. it was juicy and not dry. no free tea service - bummer for me :( but, dining was complemented with a spectacular view of amsterdam harbour, with boats passing by and nice buildings, as well as people walking and biking....classic ..very classic! washrooms were super clean. but overall, when hungry in amsterdam centraal station, look his place up. you wont be dissappointed! i highly recommend this place to satisfy a japanses craving... happy eating! read more

If you are going there just to enjoy the food, this is the right place to go. However, DO NOT EXPECT GOOD SERVICE. We went in early and were the ONLY customers. With 6 employees it took them forever to take our orders. The waiter finally came to our table and didn't explain how the "all you can eat" system works. When asked, the waiter rolled his eyes at us as if we were "supposed to know". They took their time to bring food to our table too. We said "Thank you" every time food was brought to us but we didn't get any response from them. When we asked for the check, everyone became very friendly....We give them 3 stars because the food was decent. But for the service was lackluster. It felt like the only way we would get good service from them was to become one of the employees. Horrible service. Very disappointed. NEVER AGAIN. read more

My favorite sushi reataurant! Offcourse Maybe you hasitate before you enter the place: it is in the middle of the city centre in the most touristic area of Amsterdam. But just enter and enjoy! The sushi is fresh made and delicious! In compare to other all you can eat restaurants, every time you take a bite you tatse the different ingredients. Normally i get nauseous at all you can eat.. But here i can actually eat sushi untill Iam really full withouten getting nauseous! You tatse it is fresh, just go eat there than you know what i mean :). I had never expected to find such good food on Damrak in the center of Amsterdam. Honestly, I would never ever though about going out for diner in the middle of the terrible touristic hotspot. After hearing good feedback on Kyoto (I believe the Volkskracht magazine even contained a review on Kyoto) and as we were looking for a sushi all-you-can-eat place close to central station we ended up here. When entering you will notice the place is much bigger than you would expect when walking by. There are several tables, for 2/4/6 persons or bigger groups. The seats for groups are nice and cosy with benches. Kyoto allows you to eat sushi for 2,5 hours and order what you would like. There is a lunch/diner and basic/deluxe version. You order what you can eat, meaning that you pay for the food you will not eat. I do not oppose such a system, as it prevents food waste. And although this means that Kyoto earns on your left-overs, it is a good system. There are all-you-can-eat restaurants that do not have such a policy and it is amazing how much food is wasted. And how it promotes an attitude to pick a whole dish, eating 2 bites and chucking it away. Awful! That sure spoils my taste!! The sushi at Kyoto is indeed really good. Although you will find even better sushi in small family ran restaurants, this sushi it good and price-quality excellent! I will surely be back to have an after work diner here! PLUS: children up to 3 are free, meaning our little boys can join in and eat his heart out on sushi :-) read more

Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Will return again at the first chance. We also have very fast service for a place that was really busy. Update- Well my husband and I have come back just before we leave Amsterdam and as we are ordering we were told we could only get the more expensive All You Can Eat menu since it's valentines day. Ok well we decided my husband would get a la carte and I'd get the buffet because I eat more sushi. Well evidentially we can't do that either and was forced to go with the most expensive menubfor the both of us. It's raining and we are tired so we didnt leave and just stayed. It's easy to spot this place from Centraal station. This place has a Japanese feeling to it. The sashimi is great, it is fresh and tasty, the fatty salmon is melting in your mouth. Don't try the fried chickens. It's juicy however it's not crispy for a normal fried chickens. Moreover, it's a great AYCE restaurant since they include hot dishes in their menu too. However, the only minus point is the staffs. They are a bit "unfriendly" I should say. read more

Positive: the food is decent, with loads of options at a reasonable price for Amsterdam central. Negative: the service is absolutely terrible and the staff members are very rude. There was four of us eating here, the tables are suitable for three people so we pulled another table together so we would all fit. One staff member came over and rudely pulled the table away and said no you all have to fit on one table. Another staff couldn't get a plate of food onto the table and he asked I the rudest manner and said "move your phones and glasses from the table", no "please or thank you". read more

I was blown away by the quality and range of offerings here - for AYCE sushi this may be my favorite find ever. My go-to test for next-level AYCE experience is the inclusion of some higher-end stuff, with the #1 seed being ikura followed closely by rainbow rolls. Both were included here and were exceptional - especially the latter, which was so tender and delicious and moist I kept thinking they were slipping Masago in between the layers of fish, which I would find unappealing. But no, it was just that the fish (especially the salmon!) was extremely high quality and rich. So basically this may be my favorite AYCE sushi place I've ever been to - too bad I'm about to leave the country, but I hope to come back! read more

Holy cow. really friggen good sashimi. Definitely one of the better sashimi places I've had which surprises me since it was in Amsterdam. apparently their oysters are good. I wouldn't know because they ran out or werent serving it the night we went or something. I think we got the deluxe all you can eat. It's an 'all you can eat' sushi restaurant with more on the menu than just the familiar basics. One of our favorites -food wise- in Amsterdam. They have a huge variety of little Japanese dishes that go beyond the ordinary sushis most others offer. And all of those are really very tasty. They also have a couple of interesting sakés you should try. My wife and I are here often. The quality is always very good. Never have they disappointed us. Staff is not very friendly, but just polite and functional. The only little minus is the atmosphere in the restaurant. The decoration and furniture are boring. We like to sit at the bar for that reason. It's the best place there. read more

My friend and I got to the restaurant at 8:45pm after seeing that their closing time was 11pm on the website. Once we got there we were told the kitchen would be closing at 9:30pm and didn't feel very welcomed. We were sat and a server placed the menus down and walked away no hi or anything. We asked if there would be enough time for the all you can eat, he said no, which was fine but then rushed us to order and was quite rude the entire time. There was a feeling of not being wanted there but they continued to let people in after us. We got our food quickly, which was the best part of the experience. The quality was just okay and we asked for some spicy mayo which was never brought. The waiter never came over to see how our food was. Maybe a different night or time the experience would have been different, next time I hope others feel more welcomed by the service. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. They absolutely have the WORST SERVICE I have ever experienced in my life. They actually told my wife that she had to go eat by herself at another table. What kind of restaurant (or person) does that?? The waitress explained the 15 rules that go along with the "all you can eat sushi" but FAILED to mention the fact that no one else at the table can order anything else. My wife is allergic to sushi, but she loves ramen and planned to order that separately. They forgot to take her order initially and when they brought out the sushi, we asked if they could take her ramen order. Even after talking to a manager and offering to pay for the ramen, they told us the only way she could eat at the restaurant was at a separate table from me. What kind of management turns down money and makes a married couple sit at separate tables?? The waitress and manager were extremely rude to her and made her very upset. They made a scene in the middle of the restaurant and left her in tears. We were happy to pay $30 for uneaten sushi to go eat somewhere else without such horrible staff. They should be ashamed of themselves. This happened around 5pm on March 31, 2019, in case the owner wants (or cares) to do anything about his/her awful staff. read more

I was with a friend who does not eat sushi and so for non sushi eaters this is not a good value. I wanted the deluxe but bc we would both need to order that I settled with the basic. Great for all you can eat sushi and other Japanese food. Lots of hot dishes on the AYCE menu including lamb racks, teriyaki chicken, udon, prawns etc. Staff were a bit "meh". Food: This isn' the first time I visit this restaurant. The first time I visit, the food was really fresh! Avoid this place at all costs. First we went in at about 4 in the afternoon and the place appeared empty. We're told all of the "people watching tables" in the front were "reserved" but we could sit in the back. Long story but, in summary, we did and ordered drinks. They were delivered but then after waiting 25 minutes in an empty restaurant for someone to come take our order, we left. As my first experience doing an ayce in the Netherlands I was really disappointed. Though the ambiance is nice within the restaurant the menu leaves lots to ask for.
