When I arrived, there was one person in front of me at the pharmacy register. I waited patiently. As soon as that customer was finished, the pharmacy technician told me they were closing for lunch. I explained that I had just received a notification from Walgreens to pick up my prescription, and there was no mention in either message that the pharmacy would be closed between 1:30 and 2:00 PM. Her response? "It's Saturday," said with a dismissive tone, as if I was supposed to know their lunch schedule. Then, right in front of me, she shut the pharmacy gate in my face while two other staff stood aside doing nothing. Not a single person made an effort to help--despite Walgreens being the one to ask me to come pick up my prescription. This was my first time at this location--and will definitely be my last. If this is how Walgreens treats its customers, I'll be taking my prescriptions elsewhere. It would've taken less than a minute to hand me my medication before closing. Instead, they chose to be rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.

This time, I was visiting in a different capacity--picking up an order for DoorDash, which I do part-time. I walked in and waited for about four minutes without being greeted. Finally, a young gentleman approached me, and I simply said, "Thank you for acknowledging me." Instead of a standard customer service response, he shot back, "You could have said something also." I was caught off guard, as I have never been anywhere where the person walking in is expected to initiate the greeting to get help from the staff. He then began to insult me. Admittedly, this led to some back-and-forth between us, so I will own my part in the argument. However, he went out of his way to make sure I knew I "was not a customer" and continuously demeaned me. When he finally handed over the order, he sneered, "Go and deliver your food, delivery man." His coworkers just sat there in silence the entire time. This employee was extremely rude, lacked basic decency, and intentionally tried to make me feel low simply for being a gig worker. It should not matter what capacity someone is visiting the store in; basic respect should be a given. Word of mouth goes a long way, and this experience reflects terribly on a business I used to champion.

It was running low on gas. It was the perfect time to explore a gas station. I found this Speedway a couple of blocks away. The reviews for this gas station are low. My rating will be an anomaly, likely because I didn't deal with humans. I filled my car's gas tank at the pump and left without saying anything to anyone. Maybe that's the key. Don't talk to staff and you'll have a better Yelp rating? I could be wrong. There seemed to be a steady flow of customers needing to fuel their vehicles. I had no problem finding an available gas pump. I paid at the pump with a credit card. I like that Speedway does not prompt you to enter your ZIP code. I don't have one because I'm a Canadian tourist, but I do have a way of getting by if I must enter one. I learned later on that the Alt ID prompt on the screen allows you to enter your phone number associated with your Speedy rewards. I have been submitting my receipt through the app. I no longer need to. This gas station was clean. I had no issues fuelling my car. I got my receipt so that I could submit my receipt for reward points. This Speedway has a convenience store. Many folks were heading inside to either prepay for gas or buy something. I didn't need anything, so I didn't check it out. I had a good experience here. I'd drop by again when I'm in the area and need fuel or a snack. (14)
