I was able to get my drink and was happy they used Styrofoam which I LOVE. I know it's bad for the environment but it keeps the drinks cooler so much longer. Bad on me. Yes, this is a convenience store but it's not your typical convenience store. They had the regular fare of chips and candies. There was just more to this quaint little store. It has a different energy. You got the feeling they weren't rushing you out of the store like so many other places. They had all sorts of tobacco choices, as well. A clerk even offered to help me which never happens in other stores. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were helpful and nice. A smile goes a long way in customer service. This store is easily accessible and it was easy-in, easy-out. Prices seemed reasonable, as well. Downtown Lawrence is a few blocks away so this is a great location. Highly impressed and pleased. Small things like they actually stock paper towels on the gasoline island along with appropriate fluid for wiping down your windows. The bathrooms aren't filthy. Imagine that. Plus, because of the way the entrances are angled there's adequate room to gas up without getting in the way of customers using the convenience store. Why shop at Kwik Shop at all? Because they work with Dillon's and provide significant discounts on gas related to grocery purchases. There are several of these stores in town. This is the one I frequent most often now after giving up on the piss poor service provided at 19th and Mass. Street. Everyone I know is angry at the management there. Enough is enough. I'm through with them. Thankfully, this location has someone on the ball and is able to provide the basics any station should.
