Completely in shock that I just paid $5 for 3 cold, dry and barely filled crab rangoon. I would understand the price if they were made like they are supposed to be and we're actually filled and warm. Hy-Vee is our preferred grocery store. This store always has fresh produce and meat, and its always clean. Plus I like not having to have the stupid "chopper shopper" card to get a discount. read more

I think the clerk was mad when I asked if they were closing down. The last few times I have gone in their drink selection is almost empty. The woman who I assume is the manager is rude. I don't expect five star service from a gas station but don't be an jerk when I ask if they have something in stock. My car is not the only one thirsty. read more

I was in the mood for one of those take out meals like you get a grocery store. Their selection was disgusting, over cooked, oversauced, beat to death and basically looked inedible, besides the fact that I stood there for several minutes waiting, then she came out and helped the guy that was standing in line behind me first. I ended up getting a huge calzone out of the cooler section that they make there. They had a small size for $4.99, but for $6.99, they had a HUGE two meat one. I took it home and baked it for a bit (it's already cooked, but figured the oven would be better than the microwave). That thing was DELICIOUS. I might never have a good experience at this Hyvee, but I'll go back just to get more calzones. read more

Clean, convenient, and don't forget that fuel saver card. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a QuikTrip has, but when you've built up some savings on gas, you don't want to lose it, and HyVee beats Price Chopper's program hands down. Along with the fuel savings, another perk is that the air for your tires is free here. Plus, it has an auto setting. Enter in the psi the tire needs, and inflate away. The machine will beep when it's reached the desired setting. It's very convenient, and I always have disliked going back and forth between the tire gauge and the air hose. The store has the usual convenient store fare, and prices are decent. The staff has always been friendly whenever I've gone. read more

The store is going under a major remodel so a lot of things are not in stock and it was hard for the flow of the store. I had my children with me and normally I order online and just pick up but I need some things immediately and they don't allow last minute pick ups. The store experience was stressful having the kids but the staff was extremely helpful especially Jennifer E. She heard the fussy babies and brought bananas and showed me what're they have snacks for kids while parents shop. We had to go to the restroom and instead of saying it's by pharmacy she walked from one end of the store to the other to take me exactly where I needed to be. It was over and beyond customer service. I am not sure I will return before the remodel is complete or I will just order ahead. Taking the kids is not easy. Thank you Jennifer for trying to make it as smooth as possible for me! read more

That's like saying it's a bank - or a florist - or a video store - or a buffet - or Chinese restaurant - or a butcher shop - or a bakery - or a dry cleaner. Recent trips to the pharmacy have changed my initial impression of the Pharmacy. The pharmacists have been attentive and helpful. However, I do not ask to use my credit card on file. :) I might even allot this 3.5 stars currently. I have visited about 4 times since my initial review and each one has been fine. There was one mistake made that I did not catch at the time, and they worked with me and did everything they could to take care of it for me! :) Also, the health food section near the pharmacy has been updated, with the Gluten Free foods now grouped all together!! :) read more

Pricier than other food stores around. I prefer to shop at Target or Price Chopper for food. Even though they have better fuel rewards than Price Chopper, I refuse to buy a product I don't like to get cheaper gas. If however there is something I like I will get it to save. To me they have a strange store layout as well. The frozen food should be at the end of the store, not in the middle. Where you can buy it last. But if I am around there, I will stop in for something quick. read more

I tried them many times but finally gave up. We don't eat much meat so the produce dept is one I hit hard. There's always at least three or four guys working and yet they still have rotting and rotten produce and flying over that produce are about a million fruit flies. Pears and plantains are the worst and i don't think it's very clean in general. That and the fruit I've gotten isn't consistently good it's hit or miss. I always go to price chopper now down the street. It's extremely clean, I've never seen rotten produce, they provide ripening bags where Hy-Vee doesn't and the fruit is consistently flavorful. When I asked about a new Apple type the PC guy went and got a knife, sliced one up and handed out slices. That's my kind of service. read more

Stopped in here unexpectedly. Had planned on shopping somewhere else but time was limited and it was along the way. Was glad I stopped. The store is very well organization and very clean. Lines for checkout wasn't long and the store was very busy. Even picked up some items from bakery and meat section that I didn't intend to because they looked good. Parking was easy. Fresh fruits, veggies awesome salad bar. Dry cleaners inside. The only con I would have was they were stocking at noon on sat which meant that shoppers had to work around a lot of staff stocking shelves. read more

Well I don't know what happened but this store is the worst Hy-Vee I have ever been inside. It had the "feel" of a really old, dirty, run-down local supermarket rather than a big chain. Lots and lots of bad smells as I walked the store for a few items. Many empty spaces where stocked items should be positioned, and the freezer section lights were blinking on and off; doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the frozen foods. I did not have any problems with the folks working in the store-I did have one young man ask if he could help me find something, and all the employees I interacted with were decent; but it appears that the restaurant/hot food area has become somewhat of a "hang-out" for locals with no place else to go, and this has spilled over into the parking lot. I love HV, but I will find another location when in this area; I cannot believe a store in this condition would survive the competition. read more

Do not eat their prepackaged & precooked Chinese food that they serve from their own kitchen. The General's Chicken I bought had overcooked meat and the rice was really hard, even after reheated, like the food was old, but not quite dangerous to eat yet. Anyways, it was awful. Also, their packaged sushi is awful. Sushi is not supposed to be eaten with super cold rice like that. read more

So, I actually love this Hy-Vee. It is the grocery store I always do my grocery shopping at and the produce is great and they have a great organic section. But, this review is about their floral department. I called last week to put in an order for three centerpieces for my sister's 30th birthday party. When I called, I asked if I should come in to discuss what I wanted or if they thought they could handle it over the phone. Perhaps, this was my mistake by not going in and letting them take my ideas over the phone. I said I wanted romantic soft center pieces for a woman's 30th birthday with no carnations. What I got and paid $120 for, were three center pieces better suited for a retirement home than a young, stylish birthday party. The arrangements included pink Gerber Daisies, Peruvian lilies and daisies. It looked like all they did was take filler flowers and make an arrangement. I was extremely disappointed. I think I would just say to anyone, don't order flowers from here if you are expecting something that looks current and on trend. The floral design department is definitely dated. I will go to professionals from now on. read more

I have used this Hyvee floral in Shawnee, KS, to send flowers for many occasions. They have always done great - nice designs, great value for my money, and fresh high quality flowers. They have done so well that I wouldn't dream of going to an expensive designer florist. I always work with them on the design and rarely go with one of the pictures from the catalog. And, they always do great with my special requests. Recently I had them do the flowers for my father's funeral - the casket spray was nothing short of amazing. We've seen the flowers we ordered from Hyvee in Shawnee up against other flowers from other florists - ours usually look better than the others. I live close so I go between Hy-Vee and price chopper though I don't know why I keep coming back to Hy-Vee, I like to punish myself I guess. They're always out of something. If they have a one or two day sale they'll run out of most of it and I end up with a handful of rain checks. Some of them will expire before you can use. For example, they had a ground beef 5 pound tube on sale, of course out when I went. I've been trying to use my rain check since, but they don't have it in. I went yesterday and asked about it and was told they only carry them when they go on sale. So by the time they go on sale again my check will expire. Shocker, par for the course here!!! The worst though is their usage of over charging!! Check your receipts every time you go!!! No exaggeration here, 9 times out of last 10 trips they over charged on at least one item!! I'm tired of it, so tired!! Even though I like their gas points it's not worth my time and frustration. Don't shop there! If you do, check your receipt!!! read more
