This post is intended to serve as a heads up to the mentally handicapped in the community: this gas station is not mental health friendly. I have schizophrenia, PTSD, and major depression. All of which I take my medicine for. I assumed the gas station would be aware of the mental health community here, with the section 8 apartments down the road that I live in. We'll I was shocked. I was having a minor episode where I found it hard to control the volume of my voice. Somebody got the wrong idea because they complained, I was told. This was a very minor episode I thought. I thought I looked passionate about life, in a colorful way. Maybe people at 63rd and Pflum aren't used to any liveliness of any sort, which blows my schizophrenic mind. Or maybe some low-life thought he had a shot at looking better than me for a split second, so he could act like he gets to judge me, and the attendant bought it. Whatever the case, I was addressed as if I was in the act of robbing the store at that moment. Keep in mind, I like to talk about my schizophrenia to people because I feel like it helps me. I told this attendant my name, diagnosis, and therapy animals name, in passing, over the course of regular visits during the prior 4 months or so. So I thought we were almost even friends. This attendant may have just had a low iq or something. This is actually a problem for me. My iq is higher than 99% of people. When someone has a significantly lower iq, there is almost always a communication breakdown. Maybe I was talking in complex thought when I was having a hiccup of an episode. Maybe the complainer didn't even understand what was going on. A PTSD trigger is a tricky thing to avoid. Coupled with having to say my thoughts that my voices are concerned with loud enough for other people to hear my thoughts with my voices, said. That's the only way I can figure out how to get them to calm down. I have to share very uncomfortable thoughts out loud all the time. It's not my favorite part of my mess of a life. But it's the only way I know how to survive in my condition. This particular attendant decided to try to intimidate me first. Then talk in short abrupt sentences like I ever threatened anyone. I never did. I simply had to explain a trigger to a friend. In my conversation I felt like the voices needed me to be loud enough otherwise they would have been on top of me. I was willing to apologize to anyone. I was coherent enough to stop raising my voice. It's just my typical day. I would have turned the voices off a long time ago if I could have. I really thought I was getting along with this guy until he was so brash and bullheaded with me. I don't think this man had a clue about mental health. I only walked my dog to that store multiple times a week for the past 4 months or so. I don't know why they hide the 24/7's but this was the cheapest pack of cigarettes I could find in the area. I'll be spending the extra 7 cents to go to the Vape Time liquor store behind Burger King, now. Not the Kansas community feel I've grown accustomed to growing up here. Overland Park's police department explained to me that my condition is OK. I don't have to live in an insane asylum. It was the O.P. police department that proved to me the times really are changing. Mental health awareness is spreading. It just hasn't seemed to me to have made it to this particular gas station. Now I'm wondering why I would ever consider shooting any respect this gas station's way ever again. They'll just try to exploit my good nature next chance they get all over again. Why did I waste all of my time believing in community at this gas station? I wouldn't recommend this. read more

I liked the friendly, helpful service and the low gas price compared to nearby competitors. The sales area was clean and spacious, with a very good selection of hot drinks, cold drinks, slushees, and a pastry case with Lamar's doughnuts. The selection of hot on-the-go foods was limited, but there were cooled sandwiches and frozen items with a microwave. I also noticed a large ice cream freezer. Air was also available for a charge. This is a Phillips 66 now. I think it sucks to have to pay $1.50 for air, but being charged $3.00 when I picked the arrow to air, not vacuum is stealing. read more

I stopped in this location due to having some business to handle in the area. First of all the parking is very big and spacious and plentiful. It's also very clean no papers and cups and trash sitting on the lot. The store inside is immaculately clean no clutter in the aisles no dust on the shelves. The shelves are fully stocked. I'm a chronic ice chewer, therefore crushed ice is a must in my life. They had crushed ice and it was free. The bathrooms were so clean that is one of my pet peeves is to see a convenience store that has a dirty bathroom. This place had a wonderfully clean bathroom. The staff are nice and courteous it's a nice place to stop on your way on the road read more

Brand new gas station to replace the former BP. It might be a new owner, too. So far, the gas prices have been competitive with my preferred station, QT. I get gas here when I need it and can't make it to another station, or I don't want to go too far out of my way. It's one of two gas stations on Shawnee Mission Parkway between I-35, past 435, and almost to K7. The other is only a couple blocks east. (Hy-Vee is putting one in nearby.) It also contains a small liquor store, which is the 3rd one near this corner. read more

This is a REALLY nice station. I'm moving from Shawnee soon and will really miss this location. Probably since it's only a few years old, I've never had a bad pump here. I don't see the need of a TV at the gas pump, but I'm not complaining about it. read more

Love the place!! Gas: I'm maybe here every other fill-up (I get $ off at the hy-vee station). The gas pumps have NEVER not worked for me; I don't know what that previous review was talking about, but it's been fixed. The pumps have little TVs that play comical commercials to pass the time. The pump isn't super-speed but it flows at a fast enough rate to not be annoying! They have diesel too if you're into that kind of thing! Store: Very clean store, constantly well stocked and very bright. The kind of place where you don't feel scared to pee, and where you won't get mugged. Although their Coke tasted funky once, everything else seems fresh and well rotated. Great selection of snacks and drinks, because the store isn't tiny. Staff: I'm in here all the time and the cashier ladies are all super nice. I bought my first pack of cigs (and didn't smoke them!) here when I turned 18 and the cashier had a good chuckle about it with me. ha ha! Another lady is working most mornings and we've become pretty good friends :) Coffee: I'll admit, I get their coffee too much! every morning without fail.. $1.63 for more coffee than I end up drinking. They have 4-5 different coffee flavors and plenty of different sweeteners or creamers to mix in with it! I could be mistaken but I believe they also have some more machines for expresso or latte or something like that.. mines so good I don't want to change! I recommend anyone who is new to the area, or has been here for a while to make this your regular stop! read more

This is a great BP! I use my BP savings card all the time to get at least 5￠ on my gas purchase. I like watching the TV while I'm pumping my gas. It fills the time. It's competitive pricing with the other stations around the area. It also has a nice clean convenience store attached to it. It has a great selection of drinks and other snacks at pretty good prices. Clean bathrooms make it extra convenient. read more

I really dislike this station. I find the gas prices to be as much as 10 cents higher then most in the area. Only reason I've stopped by is purely out of convince. Twice I've had a problem with the machine not accepting my card and I had to move my car to a diffrent pump. Also on another occasion I've been apposed by a lady trying to sell me stolen merchandise, definitely not welcoming. I prefer the quiktrip down the road, pumps work and I feel safer. read more
