Bleh. Nothing outstanding about Kwik Shop. I've been spoiled. Badly spoiled by QuikTrip. Other…read moreconvenience stores have a huge bar to reach. This is a busy store by an exit on a state highway. It is situated in a small town so they do a great volume here. This is the equivalent of a small town mall. They offer all the things a convenience store should offer. They have gasoline, refrigerator filled walls of drink assortments, candy, more gum than anyone could ever chew, beef jerky, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Standard convenience store fare. Everything seems to be in order and there appears to be a wide selection of products. I found myself inside the store when I went to get gas and the pump could not read my card. I decided this was a good chance to grab a sandwich for lunch tomorrow. They had a wide variety of lunch foods in the cold case but they were pricey. I was going to get some cheese and beef jerky but the small pack was almost $5. No thanks! The cashier was very nice and pleasant. The store was clean. I just could not get past the prices.

But what's this??? A Kwik Shop in the Lawrence area that is actually managed the way a gas station…read moreand convenience store should be managed. Unlike the holy mess of an excuse, one-star crapper that sits at 19th and Massachusetts Streets in Lawrence, its sole purpose apparently to thumb their nose at folks with Dillon's cards wanting cheap gas. This Kwik Shop has things the 19th and Mass doesn't: - the gas pumps actually dispense gas quickly. No 5 minute waits while it drips into your gas tank. - there is actually water and soap in the window cleaning buckets so you can wash your window. - there are actually paper towels in the dispenser too, amazing. - the exterior and lot is fairly clean and appearance kept up. - the lot is of the size that you don't feel like you can move without hitting someone, even if crowded which it was on my visit. - the inside was clean and the help professional. Yea, here's where I'm getting gas in the future. I head to KC enough that it's time to just bypass the horribly managed Lawrence locations. Bravo to little Eudora for the managers of this place doing a first-rate job.

Staff was very helpful and explained some of the different types of products available. The market…read morehad a of variety of products to choose from including spices, ready to eat meat, raw meat, dog bones, and dog scraps. On Saturdays they have a "live hoof" gathering in the parking lot. People bring in sheep, goats, cattle, etc and then the customers pick out which animal they want to buy/slaughter. They start this at 5AM, but I was told the line starts before 4AM because that they get the first pick of the animals for sale. Place was decorated with previous animals. Everything was clean and neatly organized. Great place!

Not only do they have a fantastic selection of butchered meats, they also have plenty of smoked meat options, deli items, fresh eggs, butter, seasonings, pet treats, and local honey and produce. Their bacon and smoked pork chops, are amazing and are smoked in house. You can see the smoker going in the parking lot and know it might be a day to get smoked rib rack. The staff is so helpful and ready to cut anything the way you request or answer your questions. The facility is clean and smells of hickory. Always have a pound or two of bacon in the freezer and only go to this butcher for my meat and poultry needs. Please note, they only have land items, no fish or seafood.

I swore I'd never step foot in an Aldi. Never. I had standards. Taste. I'm the kind of woman who…read morealphabetizes her spice rack and judges people based on their cheese drawer. So when I heard whispers that Aldi might carry Egg Life wraps? I laughed. Mocked, even. As if the same place that sells lawn chairs next to frozen tilapia could possibly carry the one item I had been chasing like a low-carb lunatic across all of Johnson County. But desperation does wild things to a woman. I had searched high, low and emotionally unstable. Whole Foods? Ghosted me. Sprouts? Played me. Trader Joe's? Cute, but no. My fridge was empty and my hope? Evaporating. So, with a shaky hand and a heart full of doubt, I took a quarter--an actual metal coin like it's 1987--and entered Aldi on my lunch break. And there they were. My precious Egg Life wraps. Just... sitting there, smug in the cooler like, "Took you long enough." I gasped. Time slowed. A child cried somewhere in the background. A manager asked if I was okay. No, sir, I'm not okay--I'm in the middle of a personal redemption arc. Now? I'm in Aldi weekly. Sometimes twice. I walk in like a woman reborn, tossing low-carb finds into my cart like I'm on a game show. Goat cheese? Yes. Off-brand cauliflower snacks that slap harder than name brand? Absolutely. I don't even recognize myself anymore. No, Aldi isn't glamorous. There are no chandeliers. You bag your own groceries like you're training for the Hunger Games. But Aldi has something better: the goods. The secrets. The kind of underdog energy that turns skeptics into believers. So yes. I was wrong. Aldi, you magnificent, chaotic, budget-friendly beast--I bow to you. You have my quarter. You have my wraps. And now... you have my heart.

I have a permanently broken leg and can't stand in line for 20 mins. So I just do pickup orders on Instacart and it's so easy. There is a small $1.99 fee for a pickup order but it's more than worth it for someone like me!!
