We called for a quote to unlock our vehicle and were told it was a $25 service call fee and unlocking fee starting at $20. He arrived quickly and had the truck unlocked in 10 min tops. That was great. Not so great was the fact the $20 "starting" fee turned into $161 fee! I tried calling back and spent countless minutes on hold. Don't be fooled by their cheap prices. You will pay $200 for 10 min work. Very unhappy. read more

I don't know why it says by appointment only but if you go to the store to have keys made..they accept walk-ins..there was a customer ahead of me but once they got to making my key..took abt 3mins..tried it on my car and worked without a problem..they did give me a heads up because of the type of key I brought had a weaker metal but I told them to go ahead and see if it holds up..and it did..definitely coming back here for all my key needs and will definitely recommend to all my friends!! I was locked up midnight yesterday and i called them the lady saidd sure i will send the tech in 10-15 minutes, then i called them after 30 minutes, 1 hours, 2 hours.... every time her self or managers tell me ohh we gonna call the tech and he will give you a call shorty !! After 4 hours in which made it to 5 am and i called them more than 10 times and heard the same thing over and over suddenly they stop answering!!! I drop my car off early in the morning, park it on El Cajon Blvd in front of the store. They told me they will call when ready, they didn't called back until around 5pm. When I got there, the car was park in front of their store with all the doors and windows wide open. I didn't give this guys permission to drive my car around. When I got home I notice that there was a big hole on the passenger side lower rocker panel with big long scratches alone the bottom side of the car from the front of the bumper to the rear side that wasn't there before. The front grill had a long crack and the lower sides was dirty and muddy like they run over a pot pole. I wash the car the day before, it was clean and this damages wasn't there before I drop my car to this place. This guys wasn't even honest enough to say something. They taken my car on the road for a joy ride, causing a lot of damages. Do not trust this guys with your car, they are very dishonest. This place is a dump, there are keys laying around on the floor and all over the place. This Guy Kim has a bad attitude and not very customer friendly. This guys takes advantage of other people trust. Do not come to this store, find a different place to make your keys. Not recommended. read more

I could not find the only copy to my car keys for the life of me. I searched high and low for two days and there was still no trace of them. I was so stressed out that I began to look for different locksmiths in my surrounding area. All locksmiths quoted very high prices or asked for me to tow my vehicle to their locations. All of that was way to inconvenient for me. I called Kwik Key as a last resort after being fed up and within an hour Kim was at my vehicle with new key and remote reprogrammed to my vehicle. Kwik Key Locksmith is the cheapest and best locksmith in town. I basically called around and was quoted absurd quotes of $250+ to get my key cut and programmed to work with the ignition. I lost all my keys and my car needed a special key to unlock the immobilizer. Most the companies will try and gouge you knowing that you would need to tow your car back to the dealer to get the job done. Kim at Kwik Key Locksmith did it for $165 and at no time during the phone call conversation did I feel as if he was trying to rip me off like the other locksmiths. I can't recommend Kim enough. Give them a call I guarantee he is the cheapest locksmith because I did the research and call the other locksmiths already. These guys are fair and honest which make me recommend them. read more

Best Locksmith in San Diego! Just bought a used car and it only came with 1 transponder key, no remote key (bought it from truck and SUV superstore, big mistake. Never buying from them again... long story). I called the dealership for the price of a remote and a transponder key. They quoted me $175 just for the remote key and $100 for the transponder key. Crazy!!! That's not even including the cost to program it. So I called around and every locksmith was charging the same as the dealership. Finally read a review about Kwik-key and decided to give them a call. Called them, and same day told me to come in. They had my remote and transponder key in stock. (Other locksmiths didn't have the remote in stock and had to order it and they had dealership prices too). Long story short, Kwik key hooked it up with 2 remotes and a transponder key. Remote key: $60x2= $120 Transponder key $50x1= $50 total= $170 plus tax It took Kwik-Key like 10 minutes tops to program both remotes and key and also cut the key. Amazing work and amazing price. It used to be that a locksmith just physically cut keys for you, but these guys are also car electrical experts. Kwik Key made extra keys for my Jeep, but while programming them, a problem with my Integrated Control Module was exposed. These guys went above and beyond to help me get through my car problem, although they had nothing to do with it, other than they couldn't finish what they were doing for me until my Jeep was right. I can't say enough about their professional attitude, and I DO NOT agree with the review above that claimed these folks were rude! Just the opposite!
