I contacted this company, and a few others, through Yelps "projects" for getting estimates. I was given an estimate for 2 different vehicles and then as most things happen, I got busy. Well I made the stop to come in and check to see how long the offer was good for?! They had provided me with a reference number and was easy to pull up in their system! Super awesome. They honored the quote! When I walked in, I saw one employee helping another customer and the others on the phone, this establishment is big yet small. They offer "come to you" service as they have a couple of vans and a small parking lot in addition to parking on the street. It is located off the main street, so parking was easy to find. I was in and out in 15 minutes, because I came in with a key that was already cut. However, the gentleman before me was getting a key cut and by the time I was leaving, they were programing the key to his car so he would have left minutes after I did. Highly recommend the quality and swevuve you revieve here! They are competitive in pricing and I feel like I got my money's worth in having that extra key, in case of emergencies...or in my case a key & fob that was literally on its last leg. We were having issues with our front door and I gave The Key Crew a call. I've used them for years for key copying because they are conveniently located in Normal Height. I had no idea they also did home visits. The issue was not urgent but they responded right away (under an hour from when I called). As usual, everyone was super nice. The technician (I'm so sorry I forgot his name...I think it was Josh) was great. First of all, they were very responsive and informative when I sent out a Yelp Project request, including giving pricing and setting an "appointment" time. Second, they had the best value for us. They used an aftermarket fob for our newer SUV, and after programming and the key cut, it was over 50% off of what dealers were charging, and at least 20% off the next closest estimate. Fob did all the functions just like the OEM one. Third, the techs were friendly, efficient, and professional--I was getting multiple keys cut for other vehicles so I was hanging around for a bit, and witnessed good customer service for others throughout the wait. Notes: 90 day warranty. +3% if using a CC. Office has a couple benches and good AC. They're on Adam's Ave. so parking might be a challenge, but they have their own small parking lot. read more

Wow what great service from The Key Crew. One of the best run businesses I've dealt with in awhile. I needed a new transponder key for my truck, not an easy key to duplicate. But these guys had the equipment and their prices are more than fair. It feels like inflation hasn't hit this crew yet. I had an issue using the key in my car, but Tim was such an expert that he was able to take my ignition apart in like two seconds and repair my ignition column, which wasn't his fault at all. Well, after almost eight years, I decided to see if Key Crew had improved from my last visit. It has not. I entered the store and one person behind the counter was "helping" another customer, sounded like a monkey and football situation. The person looked at me, said nothing, didn't acknowledge me, nothing. Two other employees at their desks, on the phone and computer. One of them looked over, saw I was there and went back to the phone conversation. It wasn't until I had enough of being ignored and not acknowledged with so much as an "I'll be with you in a minute" and turned to leave did one of the people ask "what can I do for you." At that point, I didn't care and didn't even turn around and just said "not any more," and left. Two strikes and I'm not going for a third. Overall TERRIBLE experience! Initially, sounded great. Great service, helpful, and said phone number captures info for appointment.. My son went in next day and everything changed. First, they gave new key fob. Ok- but key didn't work. The spare that my son used to get into the car no longer worked either?? I had to call from work while my son was there to ensure they needed to reprogram because key was lost.. They said it wasn't in appointment info, and now if the battery dies you can't get into your car either?? They said I have to pay addtl $200+ to get that work done?? .. very frustrating as I called a day earlier and explained situation- only so many situations people go get keys right? I called a couple of Locksmiths before I called key crew The first couple I called, I didn't appreciate how they handled the call. I did not choose them. Then I spoke to the Key Crew. The person that took my call was friendly Kind patient and knowledgeable. I was under a lot of stress due to this matter. He treated with the respect and understanding that needed. He quoted me a reasonable fair estimate of the repair and the time a technician could get to me. The technician called to alert me he was on his way. Alec was there a half hour before they thought he'd be there, so the job was completed before it was even estimated that he'd be there. I felt he was friendly yet professional and skilled for the task on hand. He actually exceeded my expectations, given that he made me two keys for under what I'd expect to pay at the dealership for one.
