Admittedly, they are not as stocked, as Byrne Dairy, but their gas is less expensive and so was able to fill up, get my water and white claws, Ice, cold Starbucks Nitro coffee, Arnold Palmer Ice teas, which is my husband favorite and is hard to find. Their prices are more reasonable. But if you're after ice cream or hot foods this is t that place. The woman behind the counter was so nice, we ended up in such a pleasant conversation. She treated me like I come there every day. She even said on my way out. "It was nice bonding with you" which I found super sweet. Their bathroom is an outdoor outhouse which is not ideal. That is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I didn't need to use the restroom, so I cannot attest to how clean it is. But definitely worth noting. She dips behind that rack of magazines and candy...acting like I didn't see her. I thought... is this b for real right now? She even lowered herself down. Like she legit had NO desire to help any customers. I stood on my tippy toes to look over and was like..uhh, yeaahhh...can I ask you something? She stood straight up and let out this "sigggggh...ugh sure" I was like OMGGG! I described what I was looking for. She POINTS! "Any Halloween stuff....yeah, in the Halloween aisle" I was totally floored. There was another employee in the Halloween aisle. He saw this. I didn't realize he was like an employee employee. I thought he was one of the reps from one of the companies that set up displays, or one of those guys that bring Coke products and whatever. I knew he wasn't delivering Coke lol, but you know what I mean? He sees my interaction with her. Gives a quick glance over to her and then says..."yeah, what are you looking for?" I told him and like so many retail employees do...or are told to do by employers (I worked retail for years) he took me right to the item. Apparently Jessica has been there for a long time. I've mentioned her to several people and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE! said the exact same thing about her and how miserable, mean she is and has NO desire to help customers there. I honestly don't know how or why any place would ever keep an employee like her...one who clearly hates her job and even more so..:hates the thought of helping anyone who comes in....to....a RETAIL store! For the record too, I was not mean, I didn't come across as mean, I just simply asked a question. If I was in the wrong, I ALWAYS own up to that, but I definitely was not even close to being in the wrong here. I always love going into Walgreens. There is a homey factor to it for some reason lol. All I wanted to do was return 2 items that were purchased at their nearby Walgreens store for…read moredelivery to my home. But for some reason, the customer service representative at the register decided it was necessary to see my original order on my phone. Which I questioned since I had a receipt with me showing I had purchased those items. She then proceeded to ask me why I didn't return them to the other store to which I replied "because I'm shopping in Geneva today". As far as I know, Walgreens does not have a policy of having to return things to the store they were bought at, and if it was policy, she should've explained it to me. it was if she thought I was trying to cheat her somehow, I've never been questioned about returning something when I have both the product and the receipt showing that exact product was purchased. It didn't help that she had an attitude as if she was doing me a favor by considering accepting the return. I do have to wonder if she had a problem that I was still masking since I've noticed a lot of customer service employees give us weird looks because of it. since I'm trying to protect immuno compromised family members I really don't give a shit what she thinks or anyone else thinks. Needless to say, I asked for my receipt back and left the store with my product. I will update after I return the items to the other store. I am curious what kind of questions I'll be asked there.

Saunders is a big grocery store run by the menonites. There's lots of meats, fresh produce, baked…read moregoods, freshly ground peanut butter, a cheese counter with ample samples, and plenty of baking supplies. Specialties would be their jams and pickles- I have fun just looking at the names of them. Their candy selection is also good, especially if you like gummy candies. I can also find some unique sodas such as white birch beer, sassafras soda, and cheerwine to name a few. There is a little gift shop/religious books section near the front, which can be nice to browse through. Saunders sells outdoor furniture and decor, and there is a furniture store proper attached. I've been especially tempted by their swiveling and gliding rocking chairs. I've had some good food at the cafe, the Reuben in particular being super tasty. You do have to enter the cafe through the store and park your cart before you go into the cafe. You order at the counter and then the staff gives you a number and will bring you your meal. Car parking is ample here but there are speed bumps, so watch it! I haven't noticed any bike racks, so cyclists likely need to get creative. The store is closed on Sundays and can be busy with campers during the summer months.

Okay so I'm not thinking I'm actually popular enough to have followers or anything however if you…read moreare one, you know from my previous posting that I burn about a tank of gas a day doing my job so because of this I am at convenience stores quite often. You also would know that my number one pet peeve about convenience stores is that they don't have washer fluid and or squeegees available near the gas pumps. This store was an exception. I have been here a few times before this review however this is the first time I actually went in. Every time I'm here they have had the washer fluid and nice brand new squeegees available. So that in itself in my opinion is enough for a good review. This time however like I said I went inside, the place is nice and clean, and even though I don't typically eat prepared foods from fast food places including convenience stores, I needed to make an exception this time so I grabbed a couple of breakfast sandwiches. They've got a really cool system setup at the register area, you put your purchase down on this big pad with some dots on it, it rings it up for you and gives you a total on the screen where you can then enter cash credit card etc. I threw some cash in there and it spit out my change. I guess if you don't like interacting with people this would be pretty cool. There were two people behind the counter and I stood there and had a chat with them for a few minutes, both of which were very polite and seemed as though they actually enjoy their jobs which is rare these days. The only other thing I can think of right now which kind of made me chuckle is when I got into my car and I was on my way and I'm eating these breakfast sandwiches, there are stickers on the bottom of them that have a date and a time and it says discard time next to it. The date is obviously today's date and the time on the one I was unwrapping was about 7 minutes away. So I ate the sandwich and a little while later I grabbed the other one and sure enough it had the same time on it so technically I'm eating this sandwich about 15 minutes past the time that it was supposed to be discarded. It kind of made me chuckle because I was pretty sure that upon opening this particular sandwich I wasn't going to find it green and furry because at 30 seconds past the discard time it instantly went bad . I am however going to stop in there again just out of curiosity and pick up a couple of random sandwiches and see if I can find one that is still sitting out past the discard time. I'm not going to make a big deal about it if I do because honestly those were made fresh this morning I'm guessing around 6:00 a.m. or so? And I was in there around 8:15 so it's not like they were bad or anything. Would just be kind of cool in my brain if I stop in there a couple more times and maybe get to know the people behind the counter a little bit so I've got a little bit of a repertoire with them to the point that I can bust their jobs holding up a sandwich that's 30 seconds expired and give them crap over it. But anyway, yeah this location seems pretty good. Hopefully nobody takes me seriously about my expired sandwich comments. They were both rather tasty.
