The prices change randomly -- one day something costs one amount, then the next day it's higher or lower depending on who's working. It feels unfair and almost like harassment. The clerks are rude, ungrateful, and make you feel unwelcome every time you walk in. I stopped by early this morning at 6 AM, and it was the same attitude as always. Wow! Customer service all the way!! It makes a difference! So I'm stuck home with Covid and decided to treat myself to a bottle of champagne to numb the runny nose and boredom. I called before ordering because I wanted to make sure the bottle would be cold on arrival so I could dive right in. The gentleman who answered the phone told me they keep ALL their champagnes (except for the Veuve) cold but to also go ahead and specify my request in the special instruction in the DoorDash app. He was so kind and thanked me for my business (even though I know using DoorDash cuts in to their profits, that was super nice of him!!). Kindness goes a loooooooooooooooong way these days and I will be exclusively ordering my booze from there from now on! I order maybe once a month but am always disappointed when it arrives warm! I bought a sandwich, a cup of noodle bowl, a vitamin water and a pack of cigarettes . All together cost me around $30. It was expensive and after that I called my uber ride. When I asked the store manager if I can wait in his store, because it was very cold outside. His response was, NO! You wait outside. I thought that was totally rude of him. I live up the hill and this is pretty much my spot for snagging a rockstar when I've forgotten to put one in the fridge the night before. Love this Store. Prince is a "Prince" and all employees are kind and helpful. When Prince took over as manager, the store just became my go to store. Customer Service is what I do for a living. I love the name of this place. It's as if they decided that by eliminating the extraneous letters in "quick' they've expedited the reading process somehow. Genius. I can just see people driving down Monterey Blvd. looking for somewhere to stop but, gosh darn it, SO MANY LETTERS! When all of a sudden, Kwik and Convenient appears like an oasis. Cue parting clouds and ray of sunlight. They even have a parking lot. I've only been here a couple of times but everytime it's only to buy shit like beer or Rockstar. I guess that what places like these are for. I doubt there are people coming here to shop for Thanksgiving dinner. Unless of course they're serving beer and Rockstar. Maybe next time I'll buy a du-rag and a gold chain with a pot leaf on it (both of which are available at the counter) read more

It's a bit overpriced on some items and doesn't always offer the freshest stuff (the dairy is always expiring the day you are looking at it, for instance, watch the dates Toonces) BUT...in this totally "suburban" sector of SF, K & C has what you'd call "a captive audience" in that there is NOTHING else open past 10pm!!! Kwik...shortened from Quick (if that doesn't convince you they will make every effort to "make it snappy, pappy!" nothing will! Then again, how "kwik" can my shopping experience be when they lock the doors and you have to beg for an audience with the slushy guy! A lot of pressure to make the cut....you approach the door, grab the handle to pull it open, nothing...then you decide to try it again just to make sure...nope, not opening! The clerk looks over at you and stares but doesn't move...you're thinking uh......he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me noooot.....HURRRAAY, he's getting he's keys out to let us in! Hallelujah!! (NOTE: Something about this place always reminds me of one of my all time fave films, "Clerks"...when the overhead door wont open and they hang up that sign that reads "I assure you, we're open!") The staff here can be pretty sassy and the service is perfunctory but adequate! (It's a 2am liquor store not Nordstroms, can't be picky) Also, they have an amazing arsenal of mustard here...all kinds...sort of like being in one of those fancy mustard sections at some gourmet grocery stop in Napa, you know? (Champagne, Dijon, yellow, spicy) Check out the mustard if you're into that sort of thing! So if you're in DIRE need of late night munchies, ice cream, dog food, scrunchies, strawberry Mentos, tabloids, trucker caps or absolutely last call liquor, you could do alot worse than Kwik n Convenient!!! Update: The same guys are just getting gouchy. Very strange. My goal in 2010 was to avoid this place at all costs, and for the most part I have done exactly that. It's not great when it is a block from my house, but that's how it goes. Get some manners, guys. ======================== As far as corner stores go, this place is a classic. On top of the usual cheetos, ice cream, bubble water, soda, playing cards, beer, and magazines, you can find stuff like astro glide, camo hats, 10 kinds of lighters, etc. There are occasional forays into men's wear, and they have an excellent selection of cheap sunglasses. Furthermore, there is a secret porn mag section that is pretty impressive all by itself. If you walk all the way to the end of the regular mags and walk around the back of the rack, you will see it. If you need boxes for moving or whatever, they usually have a healthy pile of them strewn out in front of the store. It's a nice arty touch. read more

Dear Kwik & Convenient, I live across the street from you. While the convenience of a liquor store open 24 hours is amazing, you have several downfalls: 1. Everything is over priced. $6 for my pack of cigarettes. They aren't fancy. They cost $4.50 in Richmond. 2. Only crazy ass people shop here. For example, me, but most memorable, the lady buying $50 worth of scratchers. 3. The weekend in which there was a dance party in your parking lot at 2 am TWO nights in a row. 4. The weekend where I looked out my window and I saw someone with a baseball bat hitting the back of a car window. Good things about you: 1. You serve liquor, a wide variety of liquor. 2. You are the one 24 hour gem in a sea of residential slumber. 3. You sell cigarettes when ever I want them. 4. The staff is sassy, and you make me laugh. 5. New ownership is learning the ways of this store and neighborhood and they are doing quite well. Very friendly and inviting, always trying to start a conversation, or maybe they're just bored, but regardless, very nice people. This place is down the street from my house so its almost a daily visit for me, they are also one of only two convenient stores in the city of San Francisco that carry the Snapple Apple drink that my girlfriend and I love very much (we buy them by the case load). Aside from all the random things, this place is definitely "Kwik & Convenient" with great parking and a great location. read more

So I went here tonight in the evening and just about six people came in while I was shopping there while I was in the store for about ten minutes. I went trough the isles then inpicked up a watermelon candy and a frozen burrito from one freezer in the front I picked up a cheese stick from the refrigerator then picked a Krispy Kreme donut. I paid then walked over to the microwave to heat up my Burrito then I left. This is just your typical convience store they have everything that you would expect from a liquor store. When I lived on Monterey Boulevard, this place saved my life so many times. Since the Safeway across the street closes as some ridiculously early hour, having Kwik and Convenient open 24 hours is great. Especially when you run out of cigarettes, need some booze, or you're craving a hot dog that's been sitting out all day. Kwik and Convenient is like your every day corner store. They have a parking lot, but people drive through that thing like it's a street, so watch your car. They also seem to get robbed at gunpoint a lot, so after a certain hour they lock the front door. Just shake it a bit and they'll come open it. Occasionally the guy running the counter will be lying down on the floor in the middle of the store, which is kind of weird. But if he's not shot and dying, he'll get up and let you in. 24 hours means 24 hours. How can you not love that? read more

Not quick and not convenient. What I mean by that is that I went in to buy a Sprite and a magazine, and the guy had some issues with the ATM machine thing and had to take 10 minutes to get my card to go through. And no I wasn't worried, I had plenty of money in my account. Not convenient because it is hard to get into the lot here as it's in a small parking lot and cars in here don't seem to look when leaving the lot- just backing out I almost got hit by 4 cars. And the lot is only about 10 cars long. Ok now that I'm done bitching. This place is close, there is a private lot, as dangerous as it may be, and it provides the basics you expect at a corner market: soda, iced tea, juices, snacks (all junk food), lotto tickets, porn, normal magazines, wine, beer, and whatever. I probably started going to Kwik & Convenient on my own when I was about 11. It has never failed me. Last call Hennessey? 4am snack? Kwikie's got it! Surprisingly there are not too many shady characters coming in here either... unless I am part of that category? oh dear god i need to reassess my life. The only time this place has ever let me down is when we bought a stale "tobacco"-who-are-we-kidding-BLUNT wrap and it disintegrated in my fingers. My friend and I took it back immediately and the guy gave us a new one. Plus, we used to look through the dirty porn on the shelves when we were 13. I know this place has its fans but I'm simply not one of them. I stopped by here on the way to get to work to get my occasional Rockstar to kick-start my day. I noted that the parking lot was _completely_ empty--this was a bit unsettling. When I went in, I found the 24 oz. Rockstar to be going for $4.50--holy ripoff Batman! I ended up getting the 16oz. for about $2.79 or so. Considering that at 7-11, I could get the 24 oz. on special now for $2.99, K & C's price doesn't really make me want to come back. It is advantageous to come here if you live in the neighborhood and you don't have the time for anything else, or if the Safeway across the street is closed. Safeway across the street closes at 12a. This place is open 24/7. For that chocolate milk, ice cream, or Diet Coke craving at 2:37am, this is your place. The guys who run the store are polite and the store is as exactly as the moniker says, 'Kwik & Convenient.' In fact...make that VERY Convenient. This store has never let me down in an emergency situation. It is not pretty, it is overpriced and it's not even remotely clean but if I need something urgently I can usually find it at what my kids and I refer to as The Kwik. It looks out of place on the corner of Monterrey and Foerster as it is such a quiet little neighborhood that offers nothing in terms of retail choice. When you're inside of Kwik and Convenient, It almost feels like a scene in a movie where something bad is about to go down, like a robbery or hostage situation. The owners may seem aloof and unfriendly but in reality they are nice guys once you get used to them and vice versa. I don't think I've ever come in and not found the main guy chattering away on his cell phone. This is when you have to be vigilant about counting your change. Sometimes you get too much back but most times it is too little. It's not intentional, he is just too busy on the phone to be accurate. So why 5 stars? Because this place puts a smile on my face and makes me feel like I've ventured to somewhere dangerous and urban in a Twilight Zone kind of way. It also serves as my marker that I am close to home if I've been away. I love that it is open 24/7 every single day of the year especially on Christmas when I was actually out of toilet paper. And what's not to love about a store where you can purchase cat food, ice cream, condoms, Nag Chamba incense, bling bling rhinestone key chains with your initals, phone cards to every country imaginable, herbal viagara, a can of Four Locos and brake fluid all at the same counter? It offers the convenience of 7/11 but with an edge. Not to mention there is always a parking space waiting for me. read more

The "Kwik" has saved me many times when I have come home late, starving, and NOTHING in my Glen Park 'hood is open. The guys that run it are super nice, and nothing seems to phase them. There is a fairly good variety of items, from Pringles to Mac-N-Cheese (I know because me and / or one of my friends have bought such an randomness at one time or another). This please is alright. I come here sometimes. I sometimes get a drink and some candy here. This place charges you to use your debit or credit card. Not good. Monterey Deli does not do that. The only thing Kwik & Convenient is that it has lottery tickets. I rather see this place shut down and become a public Library. The Sunnyside neighborhood need its own library branch. This is the best and closest convenience store to our house, and I'm really glad it is. The people who work here are always very friendly and inviting, and also run a good clean store. A good selection of all sorts of things, but we usually come for late night candy runs. We're lucky to have all the necessities just a few minutes away at any time of day. read more

It's almost a definite norm in San Francisco for almost everything to be expensive, and this grocery store is no exception. Even if the prices aren't something to be enthusiastic about, the fact that this store runs 24/7 seems to be somewhat of a substantial trade-off. Don't get me wrong though, the appearance of this store is still untidy and shabby; so if you add all these factors together( expensive, shabby, somewhat of an eyesore, etc.) this store deserves a "meh" rating. To add insult to injury; the fact that one of the usual cashiers, a rude husky individual with an eternal 5'o clock shadow,(e.g. constantly talking on his phone, not paying attention to customers, gives off the impression that he's high, etc.), does not even have the decency to pay careful attention to his customers' purchase only serves to further decay the mediocre image of this store. So why do I still go there? Because no other store around this area is open 24/7, so I put up with it. But if there was to be another store around this neighborhood that remains open 24/7, you can definitely bet that this store will "Kwikly" and Conveniently vanish from the face of this neighborhood. read more
