I called, made sure they accepted my insurance, and made my appointment. A month later I went to my appointment. The doctor and his staff we more than friendly. It was the standard check up with charts, fuzzy eye drops, and picking out frames. I picked up my new glasses 2 weeks later and all is said and done. I can't speak of the prices because my insurance covered everything, I didn't have to pay 1 cent.

The office is dirty. The staff is unprofessional and the doctors don't care. Dr.. Mairs is filthy. They don't care how long you wait and if you complain, you're going to hear about it. Normal wait was 2 hours for me. They just need a better staff. Even the receptionists completely ignore you when you come to the waiting line. Doesn't matter if they're just staring at the computer, you are going to wait and again, if you speak up, you will be jumped on for it.

The office staff bordered on incompetent - they could not get the insurance company's website to tell them what coverage I had (may not have been their fault) and they said they would call me with prices so I could decide what features I wanted in my glasses. They never called. I had to go to the office to get the prices and to order my glasses. When the glasses were finished, they shipped them to the wrong office - twice (the practice has 3 offices). I went to the office where the glasses were supposed to be, but they were in another office a half-hour away. The Dr had them shipped to me but I still had to go in to have them adjusted. My insurance pays for an exam and glasses every 24 months, so I have time to decide if I will go back to this Dr, if I do it will not be to the Gloversville office.
