My roof needed repairs and like most of us do look at reviews, hope and pray you picked the right one and then you make the call. I made the call expecting a recording. James the owner picked up the phone. He listen to what I thought was the problem, personally went out to the house for a visual inspection and gave me a competitive quote. I gave the OK for the job and just like everyone else (more so from me being out of state) hoped the work would be as good as the reviews. My expectations were exceeded. I got my roof repaired at a good price, on time and the quality was outstanding. It was a pleasure throughout the entire process working with James and his crew. I got pictures confirming where repairs were needed. James explained what his crew would do. I was provided an update as the job was being done. After the work was completed pictures were provided. His crew left the job site in a better condition than the start of the work. In my personal work quality and customer service is very important. For most businesses it has become a lost art. It is alive and well at 4 Square Roofing. We didn't want to pay top dollar but we didn't want the cheapest solution either. We wanted to make the carport roof right for our buyers. The estimate thoroughly detailed the work and products and it was a go. We met with Allstar the day before the work was to be done. They "didn't have enough product" to fulfill the estimate and Allstar suggested shingles instead. The day of the work...with NO discussion...they switched from shingles to tar paper that the owner had on hand at his home and charged us MORE than the estimate. The tar paper was left hanging over the roof edges. Very messy. The "new roof" didn't last through the first rain. We met with them. Note: The business owner is always late. When he finally showed up, he got on his phone like we were insignificant. He refused to make it right, said it was our fault because we "didn't want to spend a lot of money" and he wanted to charge us $1,000 more to fix it. As it stands, we spent $2,000 for what professional roofers call a temporary roof. They may have gotten out there without informing us because the spot that leaked doesn't leak anymore. This is the kind of company that gives roofers a bad name. Us, our real estate agent and others that he talks to will never refer this company again.
