We used Builder Supply Source for our cabinets in a kitchen renovation project we just finished,…read moreand the cabinets turned out great. More than that? The cabinets we ended up with are extra custom. We wanted a more modern kitchen than I expect is very common in Nashville (several cabinetry companies our contractor typically works with could only give us Shaker cabinets, which isn't what we wanted), but Builder Supply Source had flat panel cabinets, which is the modern look we wanted. When they didn't have the exact stain color we wanted, they worked with us to create some samples based on some Pinterest/Houzz pictures I sent over. A few days after I sent the photos over, we had four samples at our house. We really liked three of them, narrowed it down to two, and finally picked one. I really appreciated that they were willing to work with us to get the color just right! We had a few little issues (one small panel of wood came slightly scratched up), but Builder Supply Source took care of everything. We worked with Will, who was great from our first meeting with him (we were in his office for about an hour talking about options and coming up with the best cabinet layout). And - at the end of the project - we're just in love with our cabinets (as well as with the hardware we ordered through Builder Supply Source). They were great to work with and the final product is exactly what we wanted. I don't think we would have ended up with the kitchen we had in our minds if it weren't for Builder Supply Source!

From the beginning, Elizabeth was helpful and available. Every phone call returned. Every email answered. When we met with Elizabeth at our home, she made something we had been dreading - into a process that we enjoyed being part of. Elizabeth's knowledge of design and details made the process worth every penny. We would do business with Elizabeth Foster again in a heartbeat!

Contractor Review (Buyer Beware) - March 2022 - Do not recommend…read more We signed a contract with a local contractor JM Construction - the owner is Gabe Jordan. I found him on Angie's List/Home Advisor and he was very attentive and responded right away. He had positive reviews so I thought I'd give it a shot to talk further. After meeting with him numerous times at our home, phone calls and email to discuss various phases of the project we felt comfortable having him do the job. He built good rapport and sounded like he knew what he was doing. We signed a contract with him for drywall work, swapping out doors, trim, paint - it was a quick update to our upstairs. We could have done it but wanted someone who was able to get in and out. The whole job was supposed to take 1 week per Gabe. We signed a contract and he requested 50% deposit. I was a bit hesitant but thought that he was a smaller contractor and maybe with cash flow to get all the trim, dump fees, drywall that he needed a chunk up front. Again, he said this would be 1 week only for all work to be completed. He brought his employees in on Monday this last week to start with drywall work. No one was here for ever longer than a few hours per day, one day no one even showed up. Fast forward to Friday, one guy showed up and did minimal drywall work - drywall is still not done BTW - was here for a few hours, then shared that he was not able to get in contact with the owner, Gabe. He continued on, sharing way too much information and then went on to demand payment from us for his work for the week. We obviously don't know what their arrangement is and we paid Gabe a lot of money (+$5K). We were left with a torn up upstairs which took us both over 16 hours to clean and unfinished job. I've tried reaching out to him on his cell, email, text to find out what is happening and to give him a chance to make it right. There has been no response to date. His employee who my husband offered to text if we heard from Gabe is now threatening us with a mechanics lien. Not sure how all that works but I guess we will learn soon if he follows through with that. All said, we have learned a lot through this process and will definitely take extra steps moving forward to vet contractors even more. On the other hand, I truly hope he is ok and that is not the reason that he is MIA - you just never know these days with Covid, etc. Gabe and JM Construction did make a commitment to us and took our money (check already cashed as of 3/7) and didn't complete the work. I do not trust him to compete the work or back in my home and would like a refund of my deposit. This was our families experience alone and just wanted to share if you do consider him for any work what my experience was. Similar post being made to Angie's List/Home Advisor also. I will definitely update my review if he does try and do the right thing.
