I initially opted to wash my hands of this company and not leave a review but after finding out…read morefrom a friend they'd posted photos of our home on Facebook as examples of their work, I felt the need to chime in. The final paint job is not their work, it's mine, because his crew did a horrible job on it. Paint on the ceiling, all over the vanities in both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. I repainted and repaired nearly every surface they touched because whatever compound they used to patch holes started peeling from the walls (although they hadn't sanded or properly patched to begin with...merely painted over leaving huge marks all over our walls. Some holes weren't even patched and some screws were left sticking out--see pics.) Not to mention the fact you neglected to install gaskets on every single water fixture--three new faucets and all three leaked. Two new tub fixtures and both moved and had to be repaired after you left without completing a final walkthrough. My dad found two of the three drain pipes for the sinks leaking in the vanities. In the upstairs bathroom they'd actually installed the wrong size gasket. And they weren't just a little off; it was twice the size it should have been but instead of going out to buy the correct size to do it right, they shoved it in and left it. A toilet your crew left marked up with a black, hardened mess, deep scratches on our closet doors, terrible install on our kitchen backsplash? Even the small refund you ultimately paid us doesn't account for the time and work and additional contractor we had to bring in to fix what you did. Brand new vanities weren't covered before they painted, paint left on our new tile because they didn't cover the floor or take care around the shower surrounds--very basic things that ANY contractor should do, they didn't. They actually left a couple of trim pieces simply propped up against the wall and never bothered to attach them! A few weeks later, I was washing dishes at my kitchen sink and heard water trickling in the ceiling above me. After calling my husband down and trying to figure out what was going on, he suggested I go upstairs into the second bathroom All Trades renovated and pour water into the overflow drain. Sure enough--there was a huge splashing sound in the ceiling above him. Lucky for Jim and All Trades, we discovered their improper install before it was too late and yet another leak caused major water damage. I do NOT recommend this company. I also suggest you consider removing the photos of our home from your social media accounts as they do not accurately reflect the quality of your work.

We had some issues with lazy decision making without our consent. Those were handled according during renovations so that's fine. However, we are just over 2 years living in our home and we already have to hire a roofer because of how awful the job was. We have multiple leaks. Ascension came out less than a month ago and they claimed the roof was fine and have refused to fix their mistake which is why I'm now here. If you want someone to do the job right the first time, go somewhere else.

They have excellent communication, which seems rare these days...they gave us a detailed quote and timeline for when each step would take place. They had a meeting with us to go over every detail of the contract. They go above and beyond, so don't expect them to be the cheapest...expect them to do it right. While they were at our home measuring, I mentioned that we may need a new roof. They immediately contacted a reputable roofer that they use and we got an inspection that same day. After a couple of quotes, we decided to use their roofer. Our new roof was installed yesterday and we couldn't be happier. The entire process went smoothly. DO NOT HIRE LOS PUMAS We hired Los Pumas Concrete to redo…read moreour pool deck 1.5 years ago. They did not add an expansion joint between the coping stones and the pool deck for expanding and shrinking (who knew concrete did this, I didn't). We have talked to two pool companies and this is supposedly common practice. Last winter it wasn't cold enough for the concrete to expand and contract as much as it did this year. In January the concrete expanded & pulled back away from the coping stones causing them to rise like in the picture. They broke, separated from the tile & even caused such a shift in the skimmer that it cracked. The Los Pumas owner has refused to return our phone calls or come see the damage. They also poured and entire new driveway for us 3 years ago-we have been loyal customers, recommending them to a lot of people in our neighborhood. However, they are not going to show up if you have a problem, they do not stand behind their work and have not been willing to work with us to resolve the issue they caused. The true character of a person or company is revealed when a problem arises. Los Pumas is of low character and will not help if there is an issue. Stay away from them...there are other repairable companies out there!

I wish I didn't have to write this review: we had a great experience with the company a couple…read moreyears ago (so great that I served as a reference for them!), so when we needed help with a substantial primary bathroom renovation, they were our first call. Unfortunately, our experience this time around was terrible -- I cannot in good faith recommend them anymore. Giving two stars (rather than one) because the work quality was very good. Subs did a great job, were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. In the end, we didn't go over budget. But we paid a lot of money and experienced a lot of unnecessary delay and drama. In short, our project was a victim of poor communication and lack of ownership taking responsibility. We went through four project managers: the first went MIA on us, delaying the demo start by 6 weeks; the second hadn't read any of the project briefing and let us to believe none of our materials had been ordered; the third was too busy with other projects to make ours a priority; and the fourth was brand new, didn't really know what he was doing, and wasn't getting the oversight he needed from leadership. To the company's credit, they didn't end up charging us for project management--as we'd been doing a big portion of it ourselves. Ultimately, a project that should've taken 8-10 weeks took 16 weeks (and that's after the 6-week-delayed start). The thing that was most frustrating was that while Dan was fairly responsive to our outreach when things were regularly going wrong, he was also regularly pretty dismissive of our concerns and didn't take responsibility for all of the mistakes and screw-ups that were the result of his team's failings--failing to read the brief; failing to install underfloor heating and electrical that was in the brief, resulting in ripping up tile that had just been laid; failing to inspect goods on arrival so that they could be replaced when broken without delaying the project; failing to tell us about budget implications of design choices, etc. Dan will say I was mad when things went wrong, and that some of those things were out of their control. Yes, I was mad. But mostly I was disappointed that I trusted this company, and they took advantage of that trust.

But the end result of my home is not what I expected. First, they convinced me to move the location of the house, they said it would save me a lot of money in excavation, so I trusted them and reluctantly agreed but that meant I lost the view I wanted from my back porch. That view was THE reason I bought that land to build on! But the excavation ended up being the same cost they originally quoted me... it didn't save me any money at all! There was no communication about that until after the excavation was done and I asked about it. When the house was done, it didn't pass inspection because they didn't use tempered glass above my bathtub and a few other silly little things that the codes people were being too picky about. But the builder should've known the codes for glass above a bathtub. Their solution was to send me a link to where I could buy a peel and stick film to put on my bathroom window. I told them I didn't think I should be responsible for paying for that, or trying to apply it myself! They ended up getting it and putting it on for me...BUT it bubbled and looks warped when I look out that window. It's my new home, it should have been fixed the right way but now I'm left to deal with that. Also, my concrete floors are awful, I pointed out a big spot by the front door that was worn down and really rough, my builder said not to worry about that because I wouldn't see it when they were done. Well, it's still there, exactly like it was when I pointed it out. They were supposed to clean the floors after drywall and seal them again. But over 6 months later, I'm STILL scraping drywall mud off my floors! They never sealed them again, but they left 2 huge full containers of seal (along with a lot of other trash) on my porch when they were done. My floors in my home are way worse than most garage floors, the expansion joints are wide open for dirt to fall in to and it doesn't look like the floors are sealed at all. I've seen many homes with concrete floors that are sealed (not stained, just sealed) and they are beautiful. That's what I was expecting, that's not what I got! I know this was just another "job" to them, but this is my home. It took literally EVERYTHING I had to build it, and I trusted the Barn Store to build it. I didn't want to write this kind of review, I was hoping to have a 5 star experience but sadly that is not the case.
