The store interior is huge - way larger than it appears from the street. Inside, it is super wide and long, and it's divided up into multiple connected rooms inside. I got a kick out of the various rooms' antique-y items placed strategically about: old wooden ladders, old lathes and finishing machines, an old piano (which invites people to use), old pharmacy and apothecary tools on display on antique countertops, lab apparatus, pipes and valves, and more, much more. All super cool. And the hats! I'm not sure I've ever seen so many hats, in all types and sizes and colors, in any one store before. They had vibrant bucket rubber raincoats in every color, Stetsons, boaters and bucket hats, fedoras and Panama hats, cowboy hats, hats that look like they were worn by Crocodile Dundee ("outback" hats?), hats that look like they were worn by Sherlock Holmes ("sleuthing" hats?), top hats, rain hats, every kind of hat imaginable. In every color and material and size, in every price point. You'd be hard-pressed not to find any type of hat you want here. I have recently gotten into premier league soccer and thought i would check things out. This place was super cool, they had tons of British treats and snack foods that you can't normally find. They also had some merch for movies/tv shows such as Harry Potter (my wife just about died), Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, etc including hats, scarves, flags, coffee mugs, playing cards, etc. they also had a lot of premier league apparel, for many different clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea etc). I got my friend a Christmas gift that i think he's gonna love, he's a big Manchester United fan. They also have your standard "kiss me I'm Irish" products, and British gift items of the sort. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home as we shopped. Great stop on a cool shopping/eating heavy street.

Like most of the stores directly on Queen Street (the main drag in Niagara-on-the-Lake), Irish Design has its prices set high. The owner (Mark?) is there and very happy to see you there too. Some of these are fedoras. In various colors. Others are winter knits, makes sense in Buffalo. Then some caps, think Sherlock Holmes. There's plenty to choose from and nice easy mirrors so you can see how it looks on your head. As far as I know this is the only store like it in Buffalo, and on Hertel. For that alone, 5 stars.

They had marvellous Faux Fur Shawls for a winter wedding. They had lots of colours (Grey, White and some others) and the price was just right. I purchased two for $67.21. The owners were very nice as well. Since I needed two shawls of the same colour, the owners let me purchase one of each colour that I was debating between. I then took them to the dress store to see which colour looked better with the dresses. They let me come back the next day to exchange the colour I didn't need for the other colour so I would have two of the same. The owners were so sweet and went above and beyond. I highly recommend this store. I also received tons of complements on the faux fur shawls. No one could believe that they were about $35.00 each. I highly recommend this store. They also sell tons of cute hats for both summer and winter. It's definitely worth a visit :)
