Niagara-on-the-Lake is a all about the shopping, history and lake time (it's named for a reason!); and as far as shopping goes, Irish Design should be one of your stops. Beautiful store chalk full of Irish (no surprise there!) products, many made from beautiful Merino wool: socks, hats, blankets and the most beautiful, thick sweaters you've ever seen. Also, a large assortment of scarves, jewelry and all your Irish needs. Whether you're looking for a present for yourself or someone else, if you're willing to open your pocket book VERY wide, this might be just the stop for you. Like most of the stores directly on Queen Street (the main drag in Niagara-on-the-Lake), Irish Design has its prices set high. Although, they DO have a "sale" section and remember, everything is listed in Canadian dollars. They accept credit, cash and US currency and have a lovely tea room, which I did not visit, in the back of the store (bathrooms only available for tea room patrons, no public store washroom!) Irish Design is also located near the [shopping] end of Queen Street, right before the residential strip, couple shops over from King George Theater. They carried almost all of the merchandise I was looking for for my (hard-to-find gifts for) daughter. Staff (or owner) were friendly and helpful. It can get busy (and crowded) inside so be mindful and tread lightly. There are enough items on the front porch to browse through that it took me at least 20 mins to check them out even before entering the store, which took me even longer inside. Just so much to see. I returned the next day to buy it and I tried to use my card by tapping and of course it didn't work because I had to slide it in and then put my PIN number. I asked the young lady to help me unscramble and she turned around and she impatiently told me to "hold on" and she will fix it. It's not what she said that was a turn off, it's how she said it. Sales staff, please be mindful of your "tone of voice" because some of us area already in our mid 70s and wish to have some respect.

I've been to many Coach locations across North America, but this was hands-down the best experience I've had. Fei was incredibly attentive and helpful. One of the bags I chose was the last one available company-wide, and she made sure I inspected it thoroughly just in case there were any defects (thankfully, there weren't!). For another bag, she went above and beyond by offering a brand-new one from the back since the floor model had a small imperfection. When I mentioned I couldn't take gift boxes due to luggage space, Fei kindly provided me with folded boxes and gift wrap so I could still present everything beautifully when I got home. She included boxes for the purses, and even smaller ones for wallets and card holders. Fei, thank you for making my shopping trip so special you're truly amazing!
