It's a week before Christmas so they store was rather packed but there were several sales associates who were visibly present and checking in on customers. I was greeted by a rather tall lady who saw me looking at a back and felt overly obliged to share the price and before I could respond she fired off " there are some others over there on sale". Oh, ok! That's what we're doing? Hmm Luckily for both of us, a beautiful brown angel in the form of an associate named Laurie came to my rescue. I shared with Laurie what I habitually pick out- bags in basic colors (black, tan, brown) instead of bags that are a fun accent and not so matchy- matchy. I looked at the Luna in red but decided against it as it can only be worn as a shoulder bag and while it's cute- that's not ideal for my lifestyle. I love to dance and frequent museums and I prefer to be hands free in those environments. Next, we looked at the Tabby Chain in Brass/ Blue. I love that purse itself but wasn't sure if I was going to get as much use out of that particular shade of blue ( more turquoise). I was still looking around when Laurie disappeared and came back with the Tabby Chain in brick red. I was immediately in love. It's perfect. I won't be over the little bag trend anytime soon and so for me I just need something for a few cards, a lipstick, phone and my car fob. I tested it out with all the above to ensure it would work and we were good to go. Laurie offered me a bottle of water while she checked me out and got the bag wrapped. To the tall Caucasian lady, I'm not saying you're racist but we have to be considerate of the micro aggressions that minorities deal with. Instead of announcing the price of goods or pointing folks to the sale section they didn't ask you for - what might be more effective is to ask " did you have something specific in mind or what budget did you have in mind"? That's more cultural responsible. I have always been a Coach girl and I'm not deterred by my experience with her. I've never made a Coach purchase I regretted. I only wish they allowed bags from the Outlets to be up cycled as well since I buy from both the higher and lower end of the brand and every now and then I'd like to refresh a bag and give it new life.

Sadly things aren't made as well as they used to be anymore. Once I have something name brand that breaks quickly or wears down after a short period of time I am done with that brand. So no more Vera Bradley for me except for the stuff I already own that hasn't worn down yet. I had a kipling wallet in my car, I also won't buy kipling anymore because of a backpack that broke on me fairly quickly but I already had this wallet before I decided that. So I was temporarily using the kipling wallet but I was obsessing over getting a different wallet even though it wasn't the best financial choice since the kipling wallet was still good. I had the day off work and after meeting my friends for breakfast, doing a trail run in Yaphank, and taking a gym shower (I had a quick car nap before the trail run), and looking in Marshall's and not finding anything I had a little time to visit Tanger Outlets in Deer Park before getting to my son's cub scout meeting and taking my son home with me after that. So I ended up wandering around the outlets, I had already decided against coach because coach products became trash long ago and I ended up in Kate Spade. I have yet to have a problem with any Kate Spade merchandise I've ever had. Arianna helped me a lot, she was great!!! I showed her a bigger wallet, the mid-sized green wallet I ended up buying, a wristlet and a smaller wallet. She priced them all for me. I was trying to decide which wallet to get or if I should go for the wristlet and the smaller wallet. The wallet I decided on is great, I love it so much and it was $65 tax included which is a great price for Kate Spade. The wallet fit what I had in the kipling wallet which was a plus and it's a smaller size which makes it a little easier for carrying. I'm happy I decided to go into Kate Spade and I walked out with a wallet that I hope will last me at least two years or more.
