If I could have reviewed this store with 0 stars, I would have.
First of all, I need to premise my review with the fact that I do not dislike the actual franchise. I just specifically LOATH this store in particular.
After looking at their website, I was ready to go into this store and purchase the Garden Trellis Toasting Flutes for my wedding. When I arrived at the store, I had to wait 25 minutes for help because there was only one sales associate. Annoying, but I'm an understanding person so I waited with patience for my turn.
When the Sales Associate was ready to help me, he had no product knowledge. I was really on the fence about two styles and he was useless as far as providing any guidance. It would have been helpful and nice to have some insight but this was the least of my concerns after what I had experienced at this store.
So, I finally choose the Garden Trellis Toasting Flutes and the Sales Associate then began the process of writing up my order. I fill out a form and he told me to bring the form to the counter and someone would ring me up. So, I did just that. I walked over to the check out counter thinking that someone would check me out, but I was just standing there while two girls behind the counter continued on with their conversation about something unrelated to their job. And so...I waited. After about five minutes of being ignored, I finally spoke up and said, "I'm ready to pay". One of the girls rang me up, and told me that I could come back the following evening to pick them up because I could not wait an hour in the mall for them. I obliged, I took my receipt and I went home.
Upon my return on Saturday (the following day) I entered the store and went to the checkout counter to pick up the order. The Sales Associate found my order and took out the pieces to show me. I had ordered the matching cake server but I didn't have it engraved so that was ok. The flutes on the other hand were not. The engraving was terrible. It looked like someone wrote on the glasses with a white pen. That was totally unacceptable to me and so I asked why they came out like that. The gentleman behind the counter said, "I don't know...I just know how to use the machine." Ok, perfect. Another fabulous member of the working society who has no knowledge of their job. He didn't offer to do them again, he didn't have any remorse for my dissatisfaction. It was surreal. Then, I notice the glasses were tarnished. I pointed that out as well. The gentleman finally said he would do them over on new fresh glasses and he would ensure the quality of the glasses was perfect. He told me he was going to do them at that moment I could return on Sunday to pick them up. I thanked him for offering to do them again and I left.
Get ready for this because I still can't believe this story is true. I walk in the store on Sunday...AND NO ONE DID THE GLASSES!!!!!!!!! No one touched them. They were left in the same spot I saw him place the glasses the day before. UNREAL! I just couldn't believe it. So...he said he would do them himself right then and there and that he would text me a picture of the glasses when they were done and that I could return Monday to get the glasses. I was so upset but I agreed and I left cursing the store and all it's useless employees to hell (in my mind of course).
Monday comes, and Monday goes. Not a peep from the store.
Tuesday comes, and Tuesday goes. Not a peep from the store.
Wednesday comes, and Wednsday was the day that I lost my cool. I called the store and asked if my glasses were ready and why no one had called me. They employee said to me that she wasn't sure why no one called me but they're ready. Oh? Really? Ok great.
So, I stroll on down there and I take a look at the glasses. The engraving still looked shotty AND the glasses were tarnished. I COULDN'T MAKE THIS ^%#$ UP IF I TRIED! I am now explaining to this employee this entire story of what happened to me with these damn glasses and I said, "I want to speak with the manager". Grab your popcorn people....
The manager, who is about 15 feet away from me behind the counter (we were seperated by a wall) says to the girl I was already talking to, "JESSICA PLEASEEEEE DEAL WITH THIS GIRL. I JUST CAN'T!! I'M JUST NOT IN THE MOOD".
Ladies and Gentleman...the managing staff at Things Remembered, Garden City.
As I'm standing there, I'm looking for hidden cameras because, well...I expected them to be there from MTV's Boiling Points. In my mind, there was NO way in hell this situation was real. But, after waiting for a camera crew to appear and one did not, I knew this situation was mine to handle. The girl offered to do the glasses again and that she would ship them to my house. I said OK to this but as soon as I left the store, I contacted the Corporate department and they are sending me the glasses from their headquarters.
Well done Corporate but, you should have given me some money off my purchase for experiencing this horror. read more
