If you find yourself anywhere near the Tulip Festival, make sure this spot is on your list…read more During our weekend of tulip sightseeing, Stella Sopra ended up stealing the show. We came for the flowers, but this little food truck parked at Tulip Valley Winery delivered the kind of meal that sticks with you. There's something magical about pairing genuine, well-crafted Italian food with a flight of local wines. Chef Alberto runs the whole operation himself cooking, serving, sharing stories, and making you feel like you've been invited to Sunday lunch at his family's table in Italy. His passion shows in every bite. I've had plenty of eggplant parm over the years, but this one? Best I've ever eaten. Served in a simple plastic container yet unforgettable perfectly balanced sauce pasta cooked just right, and eggplant that was tender and full of flavor. My husband ordered the chicken mushroom ravioli, and I was tempted to sample half of it. Big, pillowy pasta filled with rich, savory goodness an absolute win! We also split a Caesar salad (because veggie balance is important) and ended on a high note with tiramisu. It was airy, creamy, and just espresso kissed enough to keep you going back for another spoonful. We lingered on the patio glass of wine in hand, soaking up the scenery and wondering how a food truck in the middle of tulip country had turned into one of our favorite dining experiences in ages. The Stella Sopra truck travels between Bellingham and Mount Vernon. If you see it parked anywhere don't overthink it. Order whatever catches your eye. You'll definitely leave happy.

The gnocchi is delicious, as is the lasagna but the eggplant parmigiana is the best I've ever had! I always stop when I see them parked outside of Menace brewing. Their fries are always super good, they're deep fryers always got clean grease, and any of their breakfast omelettes and scrambles are awesome. But my favorite is always been their chicken fried steak with red mashed potatoes and sweet corn. Always excellent and if you get the dinner portion you actually get two steaks! The service is always amazing! I honestly in the many years I've been there I've only had one waitress that wasn't really nice. She wasn't mean, and she was attentive but she hardly smiled ... but the catch was, she was probably 7 months pregnant at the time! So I had to give her a pass for that haha!

Inside the truck the team was hard at work dropping fryers and flipping burgers so we didn't have to wait long to place our order. First off, the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich. Breaded chicken, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, ranch, and of course bacon all placed elegantly between two large golden buns. Very delicious and with Swiss cheese was a unique choice that I appreciated. Next we shared the Cowboy Burger... when I went to pick up our food I knew we had made a great choice. The server handed us a hefty beef burger that was stacked high with cheese, bacon, tomato, pickles and onions rings, smothered in bbq sauce with a crispy onion ring on top to give this burger the golden crown it deserves. Be warned this burger stood almost 8 inches tall. A couple of criticisms I had were that it was difficult to enjoy these delicious burgers on a small food container. I would definitely like to see this food in a brick and mortar restaurant one day so I can properly enjoy these monster burgers. Secondly the fries were very greasy. I know some people may enjoy them but they are not my favorite. In conclusion this was a great food truck and I will definitely have to try some more items on their menu next time!
