Big oof. Thai tea lover here. I'm on a mission to try them all. Todays choice, kung fu tea. What's cool is their Thai tea isn't mixed with sugar. I always order it no sweet anyway. What's not cool, it's not your traditional orange-ish color. Now, I understand it's just color added. But I feel Thai tea has to have that "look". Anyway, taste wise: it was kind of blank. Downside is they use some powdered non dairy creamer. I prefer half and half or condensed milk. So that gave it a weird milky taste. Made my stomach feel kind of weird. Another downside is I asked for easy ice. I still got almost half a cup of ice. Now here's the biggest oof: it was $5.24 (or so) for a large. Their large didn't seem large. What's cool is you get 10% off with yelp check in. So that kind of helped. In conclusion, I'm not going back. The price, taste, quality and quantity didn't do it for me. Establishment/location: Easy to find in a small plaza with ample parking (for now) as there are only 1-2 other stores in the same plaza. There is also street parking from what we saw Service: The guy behind the counter was nice and friendly, but there was only 1 of him so it took forever to get our drinks and there was only 1 other family in front of us in line.. Drinks came out fairly quick and was well packaged. Will be back as it comes out to about $4.85 for a large milk tea with boba. My only complaint is the reward system. Unfortunately you have to not only download their app but load money to pay with the app in order to receive points ( bubbles). This was my first time trying Kung Fu Tea. Located in a new shopping center the location is really great. The shop is very modern with tons of outdoor seating. The shopping center kind of reminds me of food lab as far as contemporary design. Kung Fu Tea is the first remnant in a soon to be popular place to get something to eat. If your like me and you've tried the, Ding Tea, Share Tea, 7 leaves ect, this place still has something unique to offer. Kung Fu Tea offers a lot of different options and tons of seasonal menu. Right now especially in the summer I recommend coming at night. There is plenty of outside seating outside. The location and design of the store is really nice. They even had some manga (I think) playing to go with the theme. Drink wise I initially got the Oreo Milk Strike. It was pretty good for those not wanting to drink milk, it reminds me of a fresh milk with out the milk. Very great service they were busy on Friday night so the drinks took some time but still great service. I also ordered an Oreo milk tea. It was pretty standard as far as your standard milk tea, but the Oreo enhanced it had bigger pieces of Oreo and very soft which enhances the overall drink. My wife got a winter melon milk tea which enjoyed. Would I come back?, of course. Location: Kung fu tea in located in a new section off Central, and I Absolutely love it! As you can see from the pictures it's such a unique looking area with the wooden wall ways, and sits. It's just really nice area and I hope we see more places like this in Riverside. The store itself is a small one with only outside sitting but it was more quaint and cozy Than tight and crowded. There are some things humans do that are unbeatable and will have my business for a lifetime. It was 7/11 and after all the slushee machines were no longer working, our young daughter wanted one. We offered to pay anyone since it was our fault the night had gotten so late on us. Immediately we remembered that this place has smoothies and opted that it may be a great alternative and way more likely to be tastier. The place is always cute and well lit so as we pulled up we thought they were open. The door was coincidentally not locked yet they told us it was closed. They must have seen the bubble burst in our kids expression and instantly changed their tune and said they'd be ok making one more drink. They clearly were cleaning and were very pleased to make our kids night. I know it's a tiny tea shop, but tonight they were capeless heroes ! I'm ever grateful for kindness and service that's above and beyond to be good humans. Thank you guys for being so generous and awesome in general. Got the Lychee Punch, basically a lychee green tea. Personally, as someone who enjoys fruit teas this was very delightful, sweet and refreshing ! The store itself is a bit small, but there is plenty of seating outside with a mildly nice view. The plaza is still under construction, so it may be better to take your drinks home with you. For my first trip to this location, they didn't accept card for that moment. So, if you're looking to pay with card I'd either call in to make sure their register is accepting it or order online. First and definitely last time here. I came here to get my boba fix, and figured I'd get my usual order from boba places which is a Thai Milk Tea with boba. I ordered a large thinking it would taste like any other Thai tea I've had from other places. Boy was I disappointed. First off, the color is not even close to Thai tea. 3rd time here & they have pretty good teas. You can actually taste the tea brew which is great because I am not into the powdered mixes. I got popping coffee popping bubbles and Thai tea this 3rd round. The coffee popping bubbles kind of tasted like coffee but the taste and texture wasn't my cup of "tea." I just didn't like the aftertaste and the slimy case of the ball. I prefer the chewy, tapioca boba ball textures better. A billion stars for them making my tea 30% sweet! I don't like overly sweet tasting drinks so this was huge plus! I also like the location, after shopping at the Riverside Plaza, you can grab your tea and socially distance outside (there are tables and these tall bar tables near the parking lot. They only have seats outside. Inside is just the boba station and cashier. Great ambiance inside. There's also a beautiful butterfly mural to take selfies with, great for the kiddos. Kung Fu Tea is one of the newest spots to open across from the Riverside Plaza. It is located on the corner of De Anza and Central in a really cute new mini plaza, joined by The Loop: Handcrafted Churros (not open yet) and other future establishments. There is a beautiful mural in the shared outdoor patio highlighting Riverside historical roots (e.g., a silhouette of Mt. Rubidoux, navel oranges, Monarch butterfly, etc.). Besides Kung Fu Tea's location, they've got an awesome team working behind the counters. There were 3 people working when we arrived and they were very friendly. Everyone was masked and gloved up (due to COVID-19), enforcing social distance with floor stickers. Kung Fu Tea has a large selection of drinks to choose from. Why I chose a Coconut Milk Tea, I'm not too sure myself -- it just sounded different; however, it was not good at all. I tried drinking a sip -- nope. Tried again with a second sip -- nope. Third sip for a charm -- yuck! Nope. I had to throw this out because it tasted rancid. I really should have gotten something I was more familiar with, like a regular fruit tea. If that was bad already, I did try their crack pie. They had a sample with an Oreo crust and it was delicious. I wanted to show my support for this business so I purchased a slice of their crack pie (Oreo crust wasn't available), $5.00. The slice was small and thin. With that, I saw a "$4 for 4 canale" sign because the price was so good that I ordered $4-worth. Mind you, I saw from behind the counter the regular-sized canale with smaller Rolo chocolate -shaped canales, which I thought would be for samples up until they gave me 4 of those in a baggie. That's $9.00 of desserts + tax on top of 2 milk teas. Anyway, the crack pie tasted like underdone flan with butter and sugar crystals that didn't melt. It was so sweet! I had to throw this out too because of it tasting underbaked. And although the Rolo-sized canales were small, they tasted good. The outside had the typical canale exterior but the inside was more mochi than canale. Sadly, I have to rate them with a 2 because the crack pie and Coconut Milk Tea weren't edible / drinkable. I don't think they should sell their crack pies with that sweetness level and it being somewhat uncooked (you can feel the sugar crystals on your tongue and with each bite). At least, not until it's been perfected. Like I mentioned earlier, they had awesome staff working here so I do wish they take this review as critique to make improvements. They have potential and it just may have been too early to introduce any desserts. I'd love to come back and support their business but I'll probably choose a different drink when I return. read more

I was excited for their opening in Riverside. (The last time I had the chance to get Kung fu tea was in the NYC location! Glad to see they are expanding to the other coast.) I got the Kung fu honey tea and I liked the control of the sweetness - not way overdone like some other places I've been to before. And I felt like the actual taste of the tea leaves were brought out nicely. The place was packed when I got there so there was a bit of a wait, but that's understandable. It was over 100° today so my drink really hit the spot! The only other comment I have is that the current address on yelp/IG takes you the wrong way (It might just be a glitch with navigation apps?
