I wanted something tasty but filling (protein-wise), and this totally hit the spot. I was unsure of what to order so I asked the sweet barista who recommended the Butterfinger with banana, peanut butter, whey protein, and almond milk. I was a little nervous it might be too nutty, but it was actually super well-balanced and so good. Creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The shop has a cool industrial vibe and is actually located inside a bike shop (hence the name).

Two younger ladies running the front counter were chatting with each other when we came in and barely noticed us. The blonde one just stared as I approached the counter to order and only spoke to say my total. I didn't know where to insert my card and after failed attempts without the cashier offering assistance, she seem annoyed to show me where to insert it. After we got our drinks, the two went back to chatting and couldn't seem to care less. I understand we are just ordering drinks and they are doing the job, but it heavily discourages me to return no matter how good the product is. I have been a very loyal customer of this Tropical Smoothie Cafe and order here several days a…read moreweek, often nearly every day. Unfortunately, today's experience has seriously changed how I feel about this location. I placed my usual order in advance--a Detox Island Green. When I arrived, my sticker was on a completely different smoothie that was cream-colored rather than green. That's fine, no big deal. Restaurants make mistakes. But the response afterward was really unacceptable. When I pointed out that the drink clearly was not mine, the staff seemed annoyed rather than apologetic. They agreed to remake it, but the entire interaction felt as though I were inconveniencing them for asking them to correct their own mistake. When the replacement was ready, the employee walked past me, placed it on the shelf directly in front of where I was standing, said nothing to me, and walked away. I was bothered enough by the unnecessary attitude that I called the store afterward and asked to speak with the manager. I explained what had happened. The manager's response was simply, "Okay," and then he ended the call. No apology or concern. Nothing. That was actually more disappointing than the original interaction... A simple "I'm sorry about that, we'll remake it for you" would have resolved the entire situation in seconds. Instead, I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong by expecting the smoothie I ordered. For a customer who has supported this particular location extremely frequently, this is a poor way to handle a very simple situation. Until the customer-service culture at this location improves, I would recommend choosing another location.

After I asked if the employee was there the manager quickly (and very rudely) took the call and tells me the employee no longer works there and asks me to stop calling as he hangs up the line. In my confusion, I called back to try to find out exactly what was going on and what I had done to deserve such treatment. Twice my call was sent to a voicemail that was full. Although I still do not understand my experience and treatment from that day, I can undoubtably say that I will not give my business to an establishment that treats paying customers the way I was treated, without any reason or explanation. It was highly unprofessional and bewildering to say the least. Customer service is/was horrible, I will not return, and I do not recommend.
