BEWARE!!! I am almost starting to wonder if this dealership is money laundering. We live out of state and I had been looking at Range Rover Sport SUVs (2024 and 2025 models) within a 250 miles radius of our home. I had been watching the price on several of these SUVs available at Kunes. We had been planning a trip to Chicago anyway and decided to stop in Sycamore on our way into the city. To make a long story short, the price of the car was advertised as $61,000 online on several reputable third party sites. I even called the afternoon before we stopped by the dealership to confirm the price with the salesperson (Peyton) to make sure it was worth my time to stop and look at several of these SUVs. Peyton said the price has actually dropped a little to $60,600. Great, I thought! I should have known something wasn't right when the sales guy was pushing one of the other Range Rovers (same year, with less mileage) but with a $68,000 price tag. I asked to see the $61k SUV. He informed me it was on a "long term test drive" and wasn't available. When I clearly saw the car I saw online sitting in the lot I walked him over there and said- "What is this one? It looks like the Range Rover you claim is on a long term test drive". He said he would go inside and check it out. I should have realized right then and there this entire place is full of scammers and liars. We test drive the SUV (you know, the most affordable one that was allegedly on a long term test drive and not available) and love it. We are sitting at the sales desk, ready to make a deal and finalize paperwork. Sales guy keeps us waiting for over an hour because he is not "allowed" to do pricing- that's the manager's job. Finally, the paperwork comes back and the purchase price is $71,000! What??? Based on the Carfax report Kunes had purchased the car back in early April. You are joking right? I am getting ready to purchase a $60k vehicle you have had sitting on your lot for almost five months and you raise the advertised price by $10k right before I am ready to cut you a check for $60 grand? Ha, ha. What idiots. I should have known that gross vape and kratom I found in the middle console should have been my warning sign that this place is as shady as a trailer park. RUN don't walk from this dealership. I am in my mid-40's and this was the sketchiest experience of my entire life. Maybe they should sell beaters, not high end cars. Anybody with half a brain can see this scam from a mile away. If I could have given negative stars, I would have. Loved the sales team and the time they took to get me in exactly what I wanted.... everything was stressful free until it came down to the dealership completing the contract and getting me my plates. Since June 9th the Ram i bought hasn't been registered and been sitting in storage. I've paid no less than 500$ a week for transportation using Uber and friends. They decided to do nothing about anything. We've been in a state of emergency in the city of Gary indiana and I had to order a Uber to transport myself and my family of 6 for food and electricity because the kunes dealership didn't complete their contract and my truck still has no registration and no way of getting it registered read more

From start to finish, I went in on a whim to buy my daughter her first car, explained what I was doing and what I wanted this particular car for, and all the people that I spoke to, not just my salesman, were more than willing to talk to me about the car and the safety features of this car over another. Even down to the Service department, wanting to make sure that it was everything I wanted it to be to surprise her with. This dealer is a pathetic joke. I reached out online for a vehicle for 43k, have a trade valued at anywhere between 48-52k from 3 different dealers, these idiots offered 43k. You had a guaranteed sale and lost it with your insulting offer. Be ready to be low balled shopping here. Don't waste your time, other dealers close by will give you more for your trade, just drive about 10-15 minutes further for an extra 5-10k. They then proceeded to list values of other "comparable" vehicles as I was also looking online and was still being misinformed, seems they were looking at a year older model and thought I was stupid and don't know how to work a computer... Absolutely terrible experience. The sales tactics here are shady and completely unprofessional. I set a price with the sales rep and he assured me he'd make it work. I took a day off work to go out and purchase the vehicle. When I arrived, the manager came over to close the deal and told me the price was $3,000 higher than what we had agreed on. I walked away since Keegan had assured me he would make my price work, but clearly didn't. The next day, they called and said they would honor the original agreed on price -- but only if I left a good review. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. I scheduled another appointment to purchase, confirmed the day and time, and took another day off work. As I was heading there, I received a text saying they had sold the car to a dealership. After a quick VIN search, I found out it had simply been moved to the other Kunes location in Sycamore and the price had been increased by $3,000 from the previous sticker. They then tried to offer me the same car model with 8,000 more miles on it for the same price. Total waste of time and deceptive practices. Set a price move the car then try to offload a less desirable version thinking the buyer would be desperate enough to settle. Chris is a terrible sales manager and person, and this dealership does not operate with honesty or integrity. I would not recommend doing business here. read more

Two days later I went to buy the car the salesmen told me 20,000 when he went to get the paperwork done feom Kunes Dodge on Dekalb Ave. They raised the price 2500.00 because we were paying cash. My wife and I experienced a serious overheating problem in our Santa Fe while driving from our home in Kansas City to Chicago. We found Kunes Hyundai online and were blown away by the superior service they offered. Kyle served as our service advisor, and he went above and beyond to take care of us. He patiently explained the problem, told us they had to order a part, and promised the vehicle would be done by Tuesday. When I left the facility, Kyle said he was on the phone trying to work a little magic to get the part sooner. I don't know who he called or what he said, but he worked the magic. The part came on Monday, and they had the Santa Fe fixed and back to us a day ahead of schedule! That was tremendous. We were already sold on the Hyundai, but this experience reminded us again of why we are on our third vehicle. The level of customer care is off the charts at Hyundai. And Kyle is the best service advisor we've ever had. The repairs fixed the problem and got us safely back home to Kansas City. I would gladly recommend Kunes Hyundai without hesitation. Scammers!!!!! So today is black Friday 2024. Im looking for a vehicle for my son. Kunes is advertising a 2010 Nissan Rogue for just under 2k but the catch is it is only at that price for one day as the black Friday deal. I was skeptical of this dealership from all the bad reviews we read about bait and switch or the vehicles they advertise are suddenly gone upon arrival. LOL that I have read online, Anyway prior to making the hour and a half one way trip I called and asked if the car was still available. The answer was yes it is. I drove all the way there. checked out the vehicle in the parking lot prior to entering. I was greeted and I said I would like to take the car for a test drive. The girl ran to her manager and then came back said that vehicle can not be driven today. I asked an hour and a half ago when I called it was. She said the car is undrivable today. I asked why are you advertising it on all these sites as your 1 day black Friday deal and only 1 day price If you if the car is undrivable, but I can test drive it tomorrow or look at other cars there today. I asked if the price was the same tomorrow. It was like looking at a deer in the headlights. Obviously a fake sales advertisement price to get you in to there dealership with no intention on honoring it. Just a way to get heads in the door. I should have known from the previous reviews of this dealership. Do not go to this dealership. I went to this dealership because my credit score is not spectacular due to some debts from my divorce. This was the provided dealership by Auto Credit Express. They never would tell me what they would give me for my vehicle. They then "hand picked" vehicles for me to look at. Said that these vehicles would help make my monthly payments less. They were clearly not what I said would fit my family needs. They then provided me a vehicle, one that fit my needs and would be cost effective for monthly payments. Drove it and liked it. They ran my credit. Suddenly they said that the vehicle wouldn't work financially and gave me another vehicle. I looked at the vehicle on my own and also liked that one. Before even talking to anyone, I get an alert that my credit was run again. Go back inside and the manager comes over and said he has this great rate on the vehicle if I provided him a co-signer. He said it didn't matter what their score was as long as I provided him a name. I declined this offer and told them I didn't want the car and I was ready to leave. The arrogant manager then tells me to walk outside with him. Asks me what's wrong. I tell him I didn't want the deal. He responds back to me "Well look on the lot. Find a vehicle you like and I'll make it happen." So wait a second.... Two vehicles they said would work "didn't work out". But he can make any deal happen?!? He says to me, how about a new truck? There might be incentives that can really drive the price down. I told him No. I did not want to see any more vehicles. He said he would up the trade in value even. Well hard to say if this is the case because they still would not tell me what the original value was. He ran inside to "run numbers." At this point I told the original salesman that I was done and was going home. I said I wanted my keys (since they never gave them back after looking at my vehicle). He went into the managers office and came back out with keys to a new truck. He said he "just needed me to at least look at it so he didn't get in trouble." So out of sympathy for the salesman, I walked out to the vehicle, said I didn't like it, and walked inside where I demanded my keys back. I got the keys from the salesman and walked out the door. As soon as I walked outside the manager got all pissy with me and ridiculed my decision to leave. He even said: "Can't you buy the new one and then just trade it back in a few months?" I replied that he could not force me to buy a vehicle I didn't want. He threw his hands up in the air, said "whatever", and stormed back inside. Not only did I not walk out with a car, but I also had my credit run twice for no reason what so ever and was treated like trash!! Do not go there!! I never once went looking for a new vehicle with all the options possible. I was totally ok with getting a used vehicle which fit the needs of my family. During the paperwork the dealership stated the true mileage was over 7000 and that there was a misunderstanding on how to get the mileage by the salesman. I drove an hour to see a jeep. They were supposed to have it in front and ready when I got there. When I arrived, I waited a long time only to find out that they had "loaned" out the Jeep two days prior. Beware of buying a pre-owned car here--since they loan them to people for joy rides. Dishonest! I should have read the reviews and listened before I wasted my time with this dealership. This car dealership practices spot delivery also called "yo yo financing" . The dealership had us sign all our paperwork with a specific credit union as the lender, the amount financed, the interest rate, and payment amount. The deal went through just like any car deal we've done in the past. Although, this time KUNES of Sycamore of IL used this deceptive tactic by having us sign all the paperwork and take our brand new car home. More than 30 days after signing our contract to finance the vehicle the finance guy called to tell us our financing fell through so we'd have to sign a contract for a 15% interest rate. Right away this seemed very wrong. We would not ever agree to the terms of the new contract he was trying to force us into. When I returned to the dealership 41 days after we thought we purchased our vehicle I said give me the car I traded in back, you take your car back. Turns out after telling me they would get my car, I found out it had already been sold! So now what? We have no vehicle or we sign a contract with outrageous terms. Many people told us many lies throughout this whole process from the finance guy to the general manager. Do NOT do a car deal with this business! If you need financing go somewhere else! She came back the next day with a cashiers check for the amount agreed upon. When she got there she was told it would cost an additional $1300 because they ran it thru their shop. Went car shopping today and had the worst experience I ever had in my life I was looking at a car that they advertised for $10,000 and they come back 4 hours later with the final numbers which I was been waiting for for 4 hours and they go when it's all said and done you have to finance $22, 400 and they added destination charges which is $500 the guy traded the car in they drove it in it should be zero then they said that they had to get a warranty added on to my loan and it was $8,600 for a extended warranty that they own and I'll guarantee you you will never be able to get anything fixed and they put on a bunch of bull crap of other charges and they said what do you want to spend I said I'll pay the taxes transfer the plates title transfer and I'll give you $500 to detail the car and I offer them for $12,000 and they said no but avoid please avoid and run away from these dealerships because once they get you in their web they will do mind games on you to get that extra money and I was there for like I said 4 to 5 hours there was two customers I rate yelling at the top of the lungs at the salesman and I couldn't figure it out but after a while I did figure it out they were doing the same thing to them so the best thing to do is ask your friends and were they buy their car and how will the experience this one I can't even give him one star because the whole thing was bullcrap but after the bad experience I did call him and told them that they should retrain all their employees to be salesman and be honest with the people it goes a long way and they didn't respond so I'm going to be the voice of the people avoid this dealerships there in Wisconsin during Illinois and they're all very bad read more

So my second review on this place. After the first review they told my daughter the if she wanted to put a deposit down on a car there wouldn't be a $4000 "market adjustment" on the car and they would reevaluate the low trade offer on her 2015 accord. If it was on the lot they would mark it up they told her. So she did and waited and a car finally came in and she went in and they would not move off the original number even though they said they would reevaluate it. Then they added a $400 lock and nitrogen for tires that they said they put on every car that they sell. So she didn't ask for it but they did it anyway. So they took the air out of the tires that it came with just to put nitrogen in them?? Kinda seems like a scam to me. So we get numbers and ask for finance options and our salesman Brian said that wasn't his department so I just said okay and we left. I don't think they cared because now they can just put it on the lot for $4000 more now. We gave them a second chance and they treated us like they did not care if we bought from them or not. Brian needs to do some training because he is not a good salesman. Once this "car shortage" is over I think this place is gonna have a hard time selling cars. ( NOT SO WELCOME ) SYCAMORE KUNES OF HYNDAI, I dealt with General Manager Financier Scott and Sales Jordan McMorris, These two made the whole shopping experience the worst ever, I called twice enquiring about a vehicle and was told that the computer was down so i should come in, so i came in, I asked the price and the sales said they were working on getting me a price, Jordan showed me the vehicle saying it was in excellent condition, it was clear to see the rust bubbling over both wheel wells as the passenger door had a huge dent and would need replaced, i asked if he had a dealer plate in order to take a test drive, oh we don't need one he replied. This diesel truck drove good for having close to 200k miles, we get back and i said i liked it for a work truck, we go inside and they get my information and come back with a price of $36,995.00 and a trade in price of 15k for my vehicle that books for 19k. I get home and ran the VIN Number for their 2015 Chevy 2500 and it books for $26,282.00 With the rust and smashed up door and broken seat (Excellent condition) Nice try! I came in @ 11:30 and left at 2:30 pm... What a waste of time... What a great place to kill the day! VERY DISHONEST read more
