Located in the former Kimono Kim space across from the cinema, I recommended we try it out rather than go across the highway to Yummi Japan as we had planned. They remodeled the interior, it is a lot brighter and more open than previously, not sure that is an improvement: the old space was a bit of a dark warren, but it had a cocktail bar vibe that I personally liked. Big pro - more vegan options than Yummi Japan, and we had a vegan with us! In addition to edamame, he had three or four rolls, including cucumber avocado, pickled radish, and sweet potato, which he said was the best. He had it without eel sauce because we could not understand the server and whether or not there was actually eel in it. Also, the server did not understand we wanted to order it and so delayed the whole process quite a bit. Big con -- everything, and I mean everything, had too much sugar added. Miso, sweet, dipping sauce, sweet, curry sweet! Salad dressing, too sweet! The folks who ordered other rolls were happy, the spicy tuna was the "most sushi like" while the Colonel ordered some "weird" rolls (one with mango and one with filet mignon) on purpose. He said he would order them all again. As mentioned, the curry was sweet, but I liked it. I think the fried rice was better than Yummi Japan, but Sproßling said "chicken was rubbery." The edamame was no better than I can do with frozen at home using the microwave. Total was $97.00 before tip, and that is not bad for sushi for four people. Would I go back? If I have a vegan or vegetarian in the group, yes. Otherwise I'll probably stick to Yummi Japan.

Great Mother's Day dinner and a 15% off special. Food was good and so was the service. Beautiful new interior inside. Not a true hibachi because we sat in a booth but still very good.

The food is really good, also nice cocktail i ever had,,it's recommended,,

This please recommend ,good and clean place,,with excellent service,,i love the sushi,,with a lot option,,

They stacked my roll over hot rice so now I have disgusting hot tuna.

I hate warm/hot sushi. Service was good tho. And the place looked nice. Just didn't want to eat warm sushi. The steak fried rice is the worst. Honestly just stick to the hibachi. The steak is not seasoned and is not seared. Super chewy steak. The Rice taste fine tho so if you love fried rice don't get the steak fried rice.

Updated atmosphere that is very clean, good food, and good service. Prices are a little high and Wasabi is better so I can't give it 5 stars

It was nice having Asian cuisine in the heart of southern West Virginia. We looked around yelp to see what's appealing for lunch. My friend gave some suggestions and we ultimately ended up here at Wasabi Fusion. We arrived here around 12:30pm after hanging out at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine earlier that day. The restaurant was particular dim lighted and only the daylight from the outside illuminated the inside. There were a few tables occupied while we waited for a table. We ended up getting one almost immediately. Our time spent here was about an hour or so. We got ice water first before deciding on what to eat for lunch. The menu was pretty simple and extensive at the same time. I ended up getting the fried rice because it was simple yet delicious at the same time. Plus, ultimately, they gave enough to satisfy my hunger and appetite. We spent about an hour here from start to finish, enjoying some downtime between being on the road and the evening ahead of us. The staff here was friendly and fast. They gave us ice water first before allowing us to decide what we wanted for lunch. It was a typical thing. The fried rice I had was good and delicious. I also had a side of French fries, which ended up being crispy and awesome. Better than McDonald's and other leading fast food chains. I enjoyed dining in here especially due to the ambiance and atmosphere here. Very quiet and pleasant to just be in here. Definitely worth coming here if you're in the area and want something else than your typical all American fast food fare. Consider coming to this Asian fusion restaurant to explore more options for your favorites in south West Virginia. Who knows? This might be the hidden gem you're looking for! The overall experience here at Wasabi Fusion in Beckley, West Virginia was very nice and welcoming. It was interesting to see Asian restaurants in West Virginia when it's uncommon. I enjoyed the service especially when it's friendly and fast. While that is usually typical anywhere, West Virginia friendly is always welcomed here. The prices here at Wasabi Fusion is competitive and around the same prices as you'd see anywhere. $13 for a Chinese entree and $6 for a sushi roll. Almost the same price strategy for anywhere in a big metro city or a small town. And of course, 4 to 5 dollars for side order of french fries. It is cool that an Asian restaurant is in West Virginia. I felt at home because obviously I grew up Asian and felt akin to the cuisine that they serve here. The restaurant itself is clean and definitely want to visit if you're in the area and not wanting any more of the stereotypical fast food American cuisine. This place serves up wholesome food that can be healthy. I like the service here which is awesome. For the most part though, the experience was typical yet comforting at the same times. It was nice to have some Asian comfort food in southern West Virginia when you don't see it often enough regularly or represented in the region. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and very satisfactory. And so, if you're looking for something better, consider coming down here to Beckley and find this delicious oasis. Might be the hidden gem of southern West Virginia you'd find. Wasabi Fusion Asian fusion restaurant is located in Beckley, West Virginia. It's one of the few places in the state that has good Asian cuisine that I've been to so far. They're physically located at 114 New River Drive in Beckley. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a good chance you'll find good parking spots here. Best bet would be to come here early enough to secure your preferred parking. If you like me, invite a friend over for lunch if you have friends to live in the area, I don't mind to join you for lunch. There is very limited of a transportation options for anybody and everybody who needs that. But to be sure, best bet will be to have a car or rent one if possible. And then, of course, there is Uber or Lyft or your personal convenience, but ride sharing services do cost a lot of money, especially in rural areas where maybe a handful of drivers are there when you want something on demand at a particular time. And so, if you're in the area and want something different than your typical road trip fare, considered the wasabi fusion Asian fusion restaurant in Beckley, West Virginia. It's definitely a place where it is uncommon to find an Asian fusion restaurant in south West Virginia, but it's always a nice place to have lunch or dinner wherever your travels may take you. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. The server was very friendly and prompt, to begin with. The interior is nice. Son ordered the Dragon Roll (shrimp tempura) and fried rice with chicken, while I had the Filet Mignon Bento Box. His Dragon Roll was beautifully presented and tasted good. Could have used more Wasabi, and I had to ask for soy sauce. The rice was good, and the chicken was breast, relatively plain, generous chunks, in a not overly sweet sauce. My Bento box came with dumplings in an egg skin? Rice, small salad, small soup, and four California rolls. Everything was tasty. The soup was a basic but good beef stock with fried onion. The salad was lettuce only (which was fine) with your standard Japanese style dressing. Everything was in good portion sizes for my taste. The filet mignon was tender and served on a bed of soft onions and teriyaki sauce with a tiny adorable broccoli garnish. We ended up eating almost everything but some of the sushi and a bed of fried rice. I really appreciated that I didn't feel wasteful. Oh, they had a good seeming selection of beer and wine, though we had unsweet tea (me) and water (son). Definitely will return!

They have several choices on the 3 pages of menus so it made it sort of difficult to pick my poison, so to speak. They bill themselves as modern Japanese. Not sure what that meant, but basically they play modern upbeat music and have a modern interior. They do have lunch specials during the week, but I didn't see many that were appealing as they're a combination of Chinese, Thai and Japanese dishes. They also had poke bowls for lunch, but I'm not so sure about that. Their sushi rolls appeared to be made mostly with cream cheese, which I'm not a big fan of in rolls, so those were out as well. I ended up ordering off of the dinner menu. I chose the grilled lamb chops and a side of steamed rice. I totally missed the 3rd menu which featured the sushi and specialty rolls. The lamb chops were ok, they did have a slight grilled flavor, but also another weird flavor like they weren't that fresh. Maybe customers don't order lamb chops here, as much as maybe they would at a fancy American or Mediterranean restaurant. Either way, I still ate them because I was hungry. I prefer the frenched rib chops better than the loin chop which is served here....since its a much tastier cut. In addition, it's usually more expensive. Overall, I don't see myself ever returning here since I'm also not in the area that much. Service was adequate as our drinks were refilled a couple of times and the waiter made sure to stop by and check on us.

This was our second visit to Kita for a casual lunchtime escape, and once again, it did not disappoint. In fact, my stomach was doing a little happy dance by the time we left. From the thoughtfully crafted dishes to the stylish and welcoming ambiance, Kita continues to impress. We shared three rolls, each one showcasing a playful balance of texture and flavor. The "Black and Yellow Roll" was a vibrant blend of salmon, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, mango, and eel--sweet, creamy, and rich, yet refreshingly light. The "Fry Me a River Roll" was a decadent indulgence, with a medley of chopped fish and salmon paired with cream cheese, all deep-fried in a crispy spring roll wrapper--delightfully crisp on the outside and savory on the inside. Our favorite, though, might have been the "Surf and Turf Roll", a bold combination of panko shrimp, bacon, scallop delight, avocado, and asparagus, topped with seared ribeye and finished with a truffle soy drizzle. Every bite was a flavor bomb--luxurious and satisfying. All in all, Kita remains a go-to for a delightful sushi fix, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.
