I have ordered from this site for the past several years and there seems to always be an issue getting my order on time for one reason or another. This past year, 2025, I ordered shorts for my kid and here it is, 2026, and no shorts; the reason marked on my account online is backordered. I waited and checked every quarter to see if they had a status update and discovered the shorts were suddenly marked online as delivered. I asked my kid if they ever received their shorts and the school if they had received them; both told me they had not. I called Kula Threads several times and finally got someone to answer. They changed the status back to backordered and told me they would put in another request for the shorts to be ordered but they still had no idea when they'd be delivered. I'm now not able to log in to my account online and they have a notice on their website that walk-ins are not welcome. Be aware when ordering that you may encounter issues with your deliveries. My kids' school goes through this vendor for their uniforms. I have ordered from them a few times during the school year to avoid the back to school rush orders in the summer. They're fine. Very easy to order from their website. Very nice variety including adult jackets with the school logo. Depending if you're ordering for a contracted school, they can send your order of uniforms to your child's school, pick up from their office or pay for mailing them to your address. The downside is if the items are on back order like the drifit shirts then most likely you will need to do your own follow up. They haven't been responsive to emails but will answer phone calls! read more

I had ordered my son's uniforms online and they took forever to send it out. I also didn't get all of the school uniforms in my order which I had paid for which was over $100. Tried to call them but got a busy signal. Waited 15 mins before I tried calling this company again and NO Answer. How do u have a number listed on the website and not answer calls?! And I called 30 + times and still got NO Answer. So I emailed them. I have a problem getting my son's school shirts every time with this company. First, I pay for it to be mailed to my home address and then a month later they say no. You have to pick it up from school. Then 3 weeks later, after I already have the shirts, they deliver it to the school again. (I am honest and sent them back). This time around they say they will deliver to the school, I get a message saying it was mailed out last Tuesday. I call the school to see if it's to home room or the front office that I will pick it up - they say they won't deliver. So! I then call the company to see what their policy is. He wants my order number and I start to dig around looking for it and say cant you look it up? The man says he can't look up my order if it's a common name? WTF is a common name out here? They have my address, my name, my sons name, my sons school and his home room number on file, of a class of 5. I doubt everyone will all have the same of all this information. Get your act together. Horrible customer service. My original order for my child's school t-shirt was made in May of 2022. As of today, July 25, 2023, I still have not received my purchase. They did not respond to any of my emails. My husband finally drove to their store and got attitude from the worker. They finally agreed to mail the shirt via fedex. I got a confirm email with a shipping number. When I checked on the shipping status, it hasn't been shipped. I wish my daughter's school would use a different vendor. Kula Threads how do you get the bid to create the shirts for 65+ schools despite terrible performance & reviews? I ordered my son's pack of shirts online in September. A month & one day later I still have not received his shirts. I attempted to call numerous times & never was able to reach someone. Finally today I get ahold of a gal with a positive upbeat voice. She said that they didn't send my shirts because they were out of the blue shirts. I guess it isn't in their company policy to inform the customer that their crap is on backorder nor do they offer substitutions or discounts for failing to meet their end of the purchase agreement. Kula Threads will send me my other colored shirts & I'll just have to wait for my blue ones. When I asked for an estimation on when the blue shirts would be ready she could not give me any measurable date. Next month? Next year? Nothing. All I got was a "sorry, we service 65+ schools...." I just want to buy a dang shirt! I don't even care how much it is, but unfortunately O can only buy them from this company thanks to some agreement with the DOE. How odd that we can't take our business elsewhere & we can only buy school shirts from this company. If there is anywhere I would want to print shirts this place is one of them. They are known for doing a lot of shirts and printing for schools mostly elementary and middle school. You can go to this place for custom printing and designs as well. Sometimes I print shirts here and they keep the screen for you. The minimum to order is not that bad. I think it is around 36 pieces minimum. The staff and customer service is good. They were really helpful when I talked to them. The prices are pretty decent too compared to other t-shirt printing places. The place is somewhat kinda hard to find if you are unfamiliar with Kalihi but it's right next to the prison. I purchased uniforms about a month ago for my son who just started Kindergarten. I opted to use the website to order, as I heard it is more efficient, and I am not comfortable sending cash/check payments with my 5 year old. On the bright side, they show what the uniforms look like online, and they even had a deal, which i think was 5 uniforms for $36? It's usually $8 for one. Don't quote me on that. The uniforms were shipped to his classroom about a week or two after I purchased them. The sizes were a little misleading, as my son is a true to size 5 year old. The XS description said it's for 2-4 and S said 6-8. I was stuck on which one I should get... Should I have gotten a size that may be too small and look like a crop top, or too big and look like he's wearing a dress?! So anyway, I ended up getting him 3 extra small and @ size small. And it turns out he fits the extra small just right. LOL. So I guess we are going to save the other smalls for next year. Another reason for my "A-OK" review is because I kept trying to call them but they NEVER answer, not even once over the week that I was trying to call. Very disappointed in our dealings with them, although when we went to their shop the first time they did spend some quality time with us. Since then, however (and it's been a couple months already!) it's like they couldn't care less about working with my company. Their "artist" was out of town and hasn't been able to create our design or assemble a quote for our order. I emailed *and* called to remind Norm (the owner) that we're still out here (waiting) but his response was akin to an "F you" - intimating that I was being impatient waiting for his god-like artist. Kula threads is a joke of a company. I ordered my kids uniforms ahead of time. I put 2 separate orders forms and 2 separate checks in 1 envelope and sent it in. A few days later I got an email stating they only had my sons order. I called and a girl answered and I explained to her the situation and she said she didn't receive any payment for my daughters order. I told her maybe she should talk to the person who opened the mail and she said she opened it and she only had my sons. I was going crazy because I knew I sent both forms in with payment but this chick is saying no. A week later I get an e mail stating that they gat my payment and order form for my daughter, I was relieved. But the day the uniforms came in we didn't get the hoodie that I ordered. I tried calling and left multiple e mails but got no response. Finally I went there and demanded an explanation. Don't need one, the entire warehouse was a disorganized mess and the office was a complete disaster. I asked for the hoodie and the guy "Reed" said that the hoodies are discontinued. WTF!!! I asked him how come they didn't let anyone know of this and he gave some BS excuse. REED this not my first rodeo, I know when someone is bullshitting and don't know what the hell he talking about. I hate it when you have to go to one place for school uniforms!!!!! I had this as a kid growing up and now I got a little one - I hate this - EACH school says that they have to have a uniform - WELLL make the dumb shirts and sell them or give them to the kids as part of their school fees or services like books - NOT like here is the business that we work with. By the way- I JUST HATE IT that that is the way the school world works. Service though is acceptable- they do try to sell you what most families need as a starter set and tell you you can come back when you need more or it gets ruined. Not a fan - if you want us to support the school then here is a better fundraiser than a store like this. read more

This review is in regards to Kula Threads by New Creations, per their website. My wife ordered my son's shirts 1 month prior to school starting. For various reasons, she had to switch the order to have it shipped to our home and paid an extra $15. She followed up to verify when we would receive the order over the phone and, after reviewing our order, she was told we would receive them the week prior to school starting. The shirts didn't arrive as promised and my wife made numerous attempts to call them, but the line was either busy, not answered, or the voicemail was not accepting messages. She contacted our school administration and they said they would contact them. Since we didn't receive the shirts, we had to borrow from the school. She emailed Kula Threads' customer service on Tuesday 8/7. Today, my son received his shirts in school and we still haven't had a response from their customer service nor an apology for the delay. Terrible Service!!!!!!!!! Kula Threads/ New Creation At the end of the school year we ordered school uniforms for next school year, and it was a total mess with the sizes. They say a certain size suppose to fit certain age. My wife even called them to make sure. That was the FIRST thing that was wrong. I think the manager should take responsibility of giving my kids the correct size school uniform. Who is the manager? Who is the owner? Who works there? Now we have small uniforms that doesn't fit them. Money wasted. SECOND, my wife made another order of bigger size uniforms way in advance so we can make sure my kids get there uniforms. She even paid an extra delivery charge to ship it to our home instead of the school. We're suppose to get it 2 weeks before school starts. So my wife called! They said they just finished printing the shirts and it was being delivered to the post office that night. No call or email saying there was a delay. Received a letter from my sons school saying I can pick up the uniform from 9-5 on the meet and greet day in the library I get there 9:30 nobody is in the library I ask where are the uniforms the lady tells me in P1 I walk there and the man tells me it's in the office I walk to the office the lady tells me they didn't come yet. I call the school at 12 pm asking if the uniforms came yet she said they will be selling at 2pm. 2pm I'm in the car I figure I should call before I go they tell me between 2 and 2:30 such a waste of time because the meet and greet is from 4-5:30 might as well start at 4 . I have been working with Norm and New Creation for about 10 years. He has been printing shirts for my students for Science Fair, Team Lokahi and now Team Hanohano. I give him my art work and within days the print is ready for color. We go over the color scheme together and he has a knack for putting colors together to make any design look good. He supports education and since we are in the area a community supporter. I have yet to find another company that gives prices as low as New Creation. I am going to start my review with a con but please finish through to the end. Kula Threads was not a reliable business for me. I ordered my son's shirt on the first day possible. It was never fulfilled. I could not get through the phone lines, email, or even with the school to find out how to get these shirts for my son. After reading the reviews on yelp, I got the idea to dispute my original order with my credit card company and resubmit the order. That same day, I got a hold of Kim at the company. She was very pleasant and super helpful. My son got his shirts less than 48 hours later... well almost all of them. I dreaded having to call back. Luckily (after 19 tries) I got back through the line. It was Kim who answered. She immediately sent the last shirt out. I got the email within seconds of ending the call. If there was a survey, I would say please hire an administrative assistant... just to help with the phones and email because the website is awesome. Just by the amount of schools serviced, you can tell there is a high demand for their company. And Kim needs a raise and promotion for helping me out. Her customer service was amazing!!! read more

So, let me start by saying I am a fan of school uniforms. The way my kid's school did it last year was great, selling the uniforms at the school itself. Not sure why they changed that up. The new process of going through Kula Threads (New Creations) has been frustrating, to say the least. We were told by the school that we could go to the store directly to pick up uniforms and that did not turn out to be the case. Presentation of the location itself was not impressive, essentially being run out of what looked to be an oversized garage. The second order I put in for my daughter I hadn't received by two weeks after ordering. So, I contacted the store directly. I will say this.... Kim was amazing. She was super friendly and told me she would call me right back once she tracked down information for my order. Hopefully it gets delivered to the school this week as promised. If so, I give Kim five stars. Unfortunately, the store overall is not the best. They need to work on improving their delivery/availability processes. read more

Last year they never came and I had to go buy a whole new set at Chiefess the first day of school - and NEVER got my money back for the on-line order, or any response to my complaints. I'm not happy at all with my service with them. I had placed an on line order on August 18 and waited for a month to only receive a partial of my order. After receiving my order, I have called and emailed numerous times and left messages for someone to give me a call but I haven't heard from anyone. I attempted to call again a week after amd finally got a live person on the phone. I spoke with Justine who is the manager and explained my situation. I mentioned how I only received partial of my order and that the receipt had it down that I received the full order, how I left several messages and emailed them but haven't gotten a response. Justine didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and the non response. She just mentioned that I should receive the rest of the order in in 10 business days and she will make sure It's on top of her list to get processed. 10 business days came and still no shirts. I gave it another 5 to 10 MORE business days and STILL no shirts. I finally decided to call them on 10/15/14 and spoke with Norm the Owner and explained my situation. He said he would have Justine give me a call in about 5 to 10 minutes after she returned from her break. I gave him my cell number and waited for her call but received no call. I called back the next day (10/16/14) today and explained to Norm that I didn't get a call back and all he said was "oh, she didn't give you a call back?" "ok, let me get her on the Phone" Very Rudely, Justine came on the line and said that the school will be getting the shirts today and as far as you getting them today, that is out of their hands. It will be the school who will distribute the shirts. I said ok. Thanks and then I hung up and decided that this place needs a review. I would try to avoid ordering from this place as much as possible. If you do, please be reminded to place your order way ahead of time. I had no choice but I had to order shirts from here because apparently my son's school goes through them.
