I've lived in major cities like Philadelphia and Seattle, and was a foreign exchange liaison in college. I know good Japanese food when I see it. To my utter shock and amazement, this is the real deal! In fact, the Black Garlic Tonkotsu is arguably the best ramen I've ever had. The chashu definitely is, without question. It had excellent flavor, with hints of cinnamon and a pleasant sweetness. The mouthfeel was truly next-level. The ajitama (soft boiled eggs marinared in soy sauce, mirin, and sake) were great. They went a bit skimpy on menma (lacto-fermented bamboo shoots), but I also just really love menma. The broth was, obviously, the star of the show, and had the rich creaminess of slow-simmered pork that one expects from tonkotsu. I also tried the OMG Salmon appetizer, which is a great deal on happy hour. The salmon was fresh, the cuts were perfect, and the sauce doesn't dominate the flavor. The decor is beautiful, and unparalleled by any other restaurant in West Richland -- not hard to do, but this place would look perfect in any large city. Flying glass fish swim through the sky-high ceilings, and the tables are neatly kept. They don't have a ton of seating for large groups, but there were still a couple of free tables when I got there. They also have ample seating for singles at the sushi bar. I highly recommend this place; it's a hidden gem punching way, way above its weight class. Don't miss out!

The only downside for me was the amount of noodles--it was a bit much for one serving and ended up absorbing a lot of the soup. That said, the ramen tasted great and was served at the perfect temperature. Ambiance was casual and service was good as well.

Sushi chef open coughed behind the sushi bar. Something that bothers me more than others but it was too late at this point.. We'd ordered takeout. I had to try the Las Vegas roll while we were in the car since it's a deep fried roll and I it's only fair to review it fresh. It was delicious. It's also a deep fried roll so.. I later tried the Lion King roll which was only mediocre. I think the best places will sear the salmon on top which really elevates this roll but they do not. I also had their Baked Mussels. I love the sauce these are baked in. Pretty similar to all other restaurants that serve this but the quality of the seafood makes the difference. My expectations for fresh seafood since moving to Eastern Wa are low and I mainly avoid it. These were so dry they were just falling apart into smaller pieces. Already small mussels just crumbling with barely a touch. Major disappointment for almost $3 a mussel. Finally, the Spicy Tuna roll. One item I thought should turn out decent. I couldn't even finish it. The tuna was minced into a mush. Personally I prefer a single piece of fresh tuna in my Spicy Tuna roll. I don't know if this is done to hide the freshness or lack of but it's also so overpowered by spiciness, and not a good kind, I literally did not taste tuna. My hunt for delicious, fresh sushi continues. I should also mention, prices are slightly higher than I'm used to for sushi which wasn't a big deal but the fact that they charge for carry out bags when you're spending over $60 was just a bad look. Grocery stores, I get it. Restaurants, just a bad move.

Three chicken t dinners and some pot stickers. Came to like $65 without tip so something over $70 in the end. Although the chicken was good, the portions were very small. The rice was on par but again, smaller scoops. Salad was just fine. I will keep looking. Tri cities is obviously lacking in good T joints and this place was no exception. I say lower the price a bit or offer more food. $14 should get you a good amount of chicken and rice. Chicken is pretty cheap at Costco (we shop there too). Just my two cents.
