Since we were in the Detroit area last week we swung over to Canada for some Windsor Pizza and got half/half "Super!" And "Good Night". We got the pizza and drove to a nearby park next to Detroit River to dig in. The staff was very friendly and met Jimmy (who was on the documentary). I even got a t-shirt from the restaurant . Anyone with strong restaurant operations or management experience could look at this setup and immediately identify ways to make it faster, cleaner, and far more efficient. MOOTZ has a great product and a busy location, but the operational side of the to-go business desperately needs attention from management.

BUT the manager was very welcoming, our server was great and the pizzas were amazing. Because I am lactose intolerant, I did a mixed cheese blend - Wisconsin brick cheese and Daiya vegan cheese- and for toppings: chicken, spinach, and mushrooms. Wisconsin Brick cheese, a staple in this pizza, is a semi-soft cheese with very low lactose due to its unique production and aging process. It was the best Detroit-style pizza I ever had. They have a big dining area and each person is able to set up their own tab to manage their food and drink purchases. When you arrive, you get a wristband. This allows you to scan into the wall taps and fill up how ever much or little you want. They had a great selection of brews and I was especially impressed by a few local beers that were absolutely delicious! The pizzas are huge, so my only regret is not ordering one to share with a friend. I was able to only finish about a quarter of the small before having to call it quits. Detroit pizza is thick, so come hungry. While the pizzas were a hit, I have to say, the fries were a treat! They were so great! All in all- an excellent spot centrally located in Detroit!
