Also had an additional outlet added in closet for the cordless vacuum and an additional outlet box on the exterior for the irrigation system. Very professional and did everything up to Code. Added the latter 2 jobs above by accessing thru crawl space using a general circuit instead of a dedicated Kitchen circuit that would have been easier and less work. We also appreciated the care with using "booties" that came on and off every single time they had to step in and out of our home. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful, including mask and social distancing compliant. Vet's has great reviews with lots of positive comments. I really liked all those things and looked forward to receiving an estimate. He noted that Vet's Electric is neither the most costly nor the least, and I confirmed I was looking for quality work rather then cheapest cost. Later during the walk through he said something about "38" for a sub panel, and then before he left he gave me a rough guess of the cost and said "at least 6" and told me he'd follow up with an estimate. At this point I still felt really good about Jesse and his shop but the beginning of doubts were forming. I had done research beforehand which told me the services I was looking for would be on average $1500-$1800. With all the madness going on this year driving cost increases in many industries including construction; I figured his estimate would be from there up to maybe 2x that. And so I start wondering... what did he mean by "38" and what did he mean by "6". Thousands? Hundreds? Neither number is remotely close to what I'd expected. All good and well... I'm a patient person and can wait for an estimate. So I checked in five days after he was here, sent a text asking when I could expect to receive an estimate. No response. So several days later, I called, and spoke with Tiffany. I asked about the status of the estimate. I get that we were in the holiday season. I can wait... but... if they want me, or any customer, to wait a matter of weeks, for an estimate after a visit to the site they need to communicate that clearly. She told me she'd look into it and call me back. We confirmed that she had the correct phone number and my correct email address. It's now been about two weeks since I spoke with Tiffany. No call back. No estimate received. I have no idea what happened. Maybe they didn't want to do the job I had, maybe they forgot, maybe they're too busy? I did seek competitor quotes. Those quotes were provided the same day the site visit was performed. Emailed to me within hours of the visit. I wish I could speak to try actual amount of the quote from Vet's Electric but I have yet to receive it.

Turns out I was quoted a price higher by 2-3 times. I had Hunts inspect the work and the electrical pipes weren't even buried properly. Good thing I didn't follow through with the job. Though I am appreciative that they worked on my home I would like all options out there. I understand the company needs to make money, but us customers only have so much to spend. Suggesting work that isn't needed and giving much higher prices is not a great way to establish trust and reputation.

He recently completed a generator install for us and made the trip out to Skykomish, WA without hesitation. The install was clean, well thought out, and done right the first time. What really impressed me was his response during the recent flooding in Skykomish. On his own time, Shane came back out to check on things. He lifted our generator to keep it from being submerged or swept away. While there, he noticed our propane tanks had broken loose and were floating in the floodwater. He went into chest-deep, freezing water to retrieve them and secure them to nearby trees so they wouldn't be lost. That kind of dedication is rare. Shane went well beyond what anyone would normally expect from a contractor.
