4 stars for the ladies in this shop. Amazing hair stylists. Minus 1 star cuz the barbers apparently DGAF. My husband was looking for a new barber so he made an appointment with one of them at 11am. Hw arrived at 10:50am, PAID A METER, and waited as he was told the barber wasn't in the shop yet. At 11:37am he just got up and left. The barber never showed up and he wasn't his quarters on a meter. Made an 11am appointment with Kayon today to get my daughter's hair braided. My daughter arrived at 10:56am...but Kayon was attending to a client in her chair. Spoke with her to find out was going on. Her response was she had her 10am client and my daughter would have to wait an extra hour. Twice in a row my daughter missed her paid summer activities because of Kayon's lies and unprofessional behavior. I spoke to her yesterday and she agreed to inform me when she was done with her first client. I never received an update or a call. She claimed to have forgotten. At no point today did she pick up the phone to alert me that she was behind with her earlier appointment. It would've saved us an hour long journey which she's aware of. It would have also saved us time,gas, energy and the unnecessary aggravation. At no point did she apologize or accept responsibility for her disgusting and unprofessional behavior. I've tried to support black businesses and Caribbean people...but it's not worth it. A grown woman is supposed to act like one...and to think we were giving her free stuff including a ride home after she completed my daughter's braids very late one night! I had to return twice that day to get my daughter's hair done. Talk about unconscionable! I'll never go back to that shop She charges $180 for children's braids and is dishonest. She charges different prices according to what you do or how she feels. My daughter is only 12 years old. I spoke to the owner who was very understanding. It's sad that such poor behavior is a reflection on his business. Remain humble when trying to build your name and business because at the end of the day...all you have is your name. Your success in the world of business is largely dependent on the service you provide to others. Poor service = very little to no business eventually. I would never recommend Kayon to anyone... for any type of service. She's too busy trying to fix her immigration status and rip people off to care. The intentional lies are beyond disgusting...but her lacking professionalism is even worse. read more

Just had crochet braids done for the first time. LOVE LOVE them! Impeccable decor! Classy, modern CLEAN nail salon and beauty shop on ground floor and barbershop and hair braiding downstairs. Friendly, kid sensitive staff and more flat screens than ive ever seen in a shop in my life! Enjoyable hilarious "barbershop talk" all day.....truly wonderful experience.....highly recommended! Been going there for quite some time my barber was on vacation and i needed a SHAPE UP not cut! Do the math on how much that is. As i come super early i am told no barbers for the next hour mmm i came back and a flock of people filled up the waiting area smh so of course i had to wait in line for about two hours! For one barber smh. He started to ask me what i want he start cutting as soon as his friend came in he started a LOUD conversation with them NOT cutting my hair just have me sitting there as he carried on his conversation for 10 mins! I was in his chair for 45 mins because of his stupid debates. He didnt know how to multi-task like most loud mouth barbers do. Anyway after he was done he hand me a towel and told me get up in a rude way. I said excuse me? He said it again and just placed a child seat didnt shake my hand like most barbers do he wasnt very nice some jamaican accent he was speaking and i was trying to listen good, so i ask how much he told me 15! (For bad customer service) I said how? He said kids cut are 13 and youre not a kid! And shoved my shoulder to look at price chart. He was so rude and disrespectful i hate his attitude! Will not return ever again im sick of trying to support all black businesses and they treat their customers like shit!
