DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. it took 8 months just to remodel my small kitchen. the workers are not professionals, they are just laborers. no attention to detail. most days they were left alone no supervision. there was absolutely no communication with me. I would go weeks before someone came to do more work. there is still paint on the new floor I recently found 2 boxes in my garage with shelving that should have been installed. one worker walked thru to the basement with greasy boot. I had to hire carpet cleaner for the stairs and basement. They did not put up screens so dust wouldn't get all over the house. The supervisor told me he would clean it. Hah. Didn't happen. Many mistakes were made and had to be corrected. Some can't be corrected. I just live with it. I feel very cheated. The owner would not give discount for all the mistakes and frustration. He tried to tell me how much each cabinet cost as a defense. I don't even enjoy my kitchen. Too much money and so much frustration. read more

Called to find out if they can do a bedroom/bath remodel. They said someone would call us back within 24-48 hours. Several days later we called again to find out why no one had called us and they said "oh there's a note here that we don't have the ability to do a bedroom/bath remodel". Wow. Thanks for calling and letting us know . And what kind of company is this that they can't do this type of project?! Very pathetic. Meanwhile we've had one company come out and give us a quote and 3 others scheduled. We have many more projects planned for the future so Kroll definitely dropped the ball. They are Bullies telling me to contact an atttorney because I went with Wallside. I told them it was too high from jump. but now they are saying I'll be getting to sets of Windows installed. I haven't heard from any of them until the Township said I had two permits pulled and I kindly asked them to withdraw the Permit they submitted and all hell broke loose. Ron the sales guy said "O well you''ll be getting to sets of Windows installed." Why are we still going thru this Bullying in 2023. Who would pay Double when you can pay Half. Trevor came to my house for a quote and pressured me into signing an agreement. According to the date on the notice of cancellation, I have 3 days from 11/21 to cancel and they are not providing my deposit back even though I cancelled well within the time. Now they are trying to sell me on other services to "transfer the deposit to". This quote (even after reducing after first communication to cancel) is substantially higher than 2 other companies. Kroll charged my 92 yr. old uncle ~2X market price! Earlier this year I received a telephone call from my uncle that the salesman for Kroll Construction company had refused to return my uncle's Remington bronze statute. I asked why the salesman had the statute and learned that the salesman "borrowed" it when Kroll replaced roof in November of 2019. My uncle said the salesman refused to answer calls demanding the return of the statue. I called Kroll Construction, and the receptionist screened my called refusing to let me speak with the owner. Being in Texas and his closest living relative, I immediately called the Wolverine Lake, MI police department. They contacted the Kroll salesman and he delivered it to the police station within a week. Kroll tried to suggest they discounted the roof job by $1,000 in exchange for my uncle's art. If so, why was there no "art credit" listed in the price section of the contract? After learning of the Kroll statue issue, I discovered the roof replacement price was $31,000 for this small 1600 sq ft one-story house. I started asking the neighbors what they paid for their re-roofs and was shocked at the overcharge by Kroll. Another neighbor with a similar size house paid ~$15,000. I contacted Mr Roof .com looking for pricing information. They quickly and professionally gave me a quote for multiple shingle options ranging from $13,493.30 - $17,878. Kroll used IKO Cambridge shingles. My Google search results suggested that the Owen Corning Duration shingle is of a similar grade which correlates to a $14,988.20 bid from Mr. Roof. To be fully transparent; in addition to the roof replacement, Kroll removed a ~12'x20' patio awning made with corrugated polycarbonate plastic which Kroll said was interfering with their ability to re-roof the house. This was part of Kroll's $31,000 charge. My investigation suggests that the removal would have added no more that $1000-1500 to the total roof job. Keep in mind the entire job took 1/2 day to complete. As you might imagine, I wish I would have had a chance to intervene back in 2019 when my elderly uncle made this decision to accept Kroll's proposal. I am currently waiting to hear back from the Michigan Attorney General's office. read more

I wanted to replace three, beautiful awning windows and the sales guy suggested that I replace them with standard, non-opening windows since, "no one uses them anyway". We had our roof replaced by Kroll Construction in 2009. Over the years, the nails have been popping up and falling off the rooftop (I have been picking them up around the yard year-round). A few shingles were blown off during a windy day in June this year. I initially intended to contact Kroll for a repair service since they installed the original roof, and it may be easier to match the shingle color. I made the first call on June 30 at 5:06 pm. The office was closed. So I called the following day again (July 01 at 9:18 am) and spoke to Michelle from the service department. I was told there would be a flat charge and someone would call me back with a service date. Nothing happened. I called on July 13, and Michelle told me someone would call me back with a service date. Nothing happened again. I called back on July 29 and was once again told by Michelle that someone would call me back with a service date. This time the office did call me on August 25 at 9 am to let me know someone was going to be at my house in an hour. I told them I was in Boston to help my daughter move to college and asked if it was possible to schedule me for a different time with at least one-day advance notice. The office said yes. Then nothing happened. So I called on September 09, and again, I was told by Michelle that someone would call me back with a service date. Nothing happened as usual. I called back on October 04, and was again told someone would call me back with a service date. You guessed it right; nothing happened. Once again, I called back on October 12 and spoke to Dave from the service department. He asked me to call back later and apologized for the situation. I called back on October 13; of course, I was told someone would call me back with a service date. Then nothing happened. I called today (October 26) at 1:13 pm and was told everyone was in the meeting, so call back in 30 minutes. I called back about 40 minutes later at 1:55 pm. They asked me to leave a voicemail. So I left a VM with Dave. Maybe, after Kroll Construction Company reads this review, someone will call me back with a service date??? read more

I am increasingly displeased with the service of Kroll construction. 3 years ago I needed to have my roof replaced. I knew it was in poor shape. The quote was bait and switch. I was initially quoted in the low 4K range and halfway through the project Kroll more than doubled the price because decking needed to be replaced. It was known the boards were in poor condition. The quote should have been more accurate. Within the first year a single fell off. Meanwhile at the hall of justice since they have my cell number I get sales calls. 3 years later I found a portion of a single on my front porch. Why I am having another single issue. I place a service call and I was told it would take at least two weeks for someone to show up at my house. Two weeks pass. No one showed up, but I did get another sales call from Kroll. I called Kroll to inquiry when someone was coming over. The story changed. I was informed there would be a 125 dollar service fee. It is ridiculous. $125 to send someone to my house despite the fact I am 4 miles away from HQ and already I paid them over 8K. The lifetime warranty they sell you on is meaningless. I called Kroll out on their poor service. I told Kroll that two weeks and I have not even received a followup call. I was apologized to, but this does not negate incompetence. Overall, I am not pleased and regret I did not conduct business with another company. read more

I still don't understand how this company stays in business, so I feel compelled to warn people. Years ago, I had a bow window installed in my home. It was an expensive Andersen window. We had a very small house and I thought it would add some space to have a nice, big window. Two young guys showed up to install it. The window itself was beautiful but it took all day until it was night and actually too dark to see anything well. Within a day or two, I noticed a dent in the bottom of the window where a strip of aluminum was installed. Since it had just been installed, I called and told them about it. As I recalled, this window was $4,000 back in the 1980s. A lot of money and it wasn't even finished, I had to finish it myself. Anyway, someone came out and basically told me tough luck, I couldn't prove their workers did it. I told them it was possible one of the workers accidentally hit it with a ladder (that's what it looked like) but I told them I couldn't say 100%, there were some kids in the neighborhood. They told me basically I insulted their workers by suggesting they might have done it and if I wanted a new strip in, I'd have to pay for it. At a whopping cost of $20. I just paid $4,000 and instead of treating me like a valued customer, believing me and just replacing that small strip to keep me happy, they were going to charge me $20? I even talked to the owner, who was one of the rudest businesspeople I've ever talked to in my life. He told me they'd replace it but I'd have to pay the $20 in cash so I couldn't stop payment on a check. I told them to go ahead because who am I going to get who wants to do a small job like that. So....I let them do it. Then I told the owner he'd never get another dime from me, he was the rudest person I'd ever talked to. I was planning on ordering more windows but they wouldn't get my business....EVER. I never used them again. Every so often, they'd call me, sometimes have salesmen stop by. I've told them if they were the last contractors on Earth, I'd do without. A friend of mine got windows that cracked, doors that wouldn't open, not sure what else. It is a mystery why anyone does business with this company or how they stay afloat. The absolute worst, rudest people ever....and they charged alot. read more

HORRIFIC!! AFTER a contract was signed I get a call that it will cost $2000 more. They settled for $1000 if it was paid in cash. The 3 day job was completed in 23 days. NEVER was I told why, or were the workers checked up on until they disappeared on day 21 and I called them to ask why no one was working for a couple days on the trim. With my grass being killed from equipment and supplies sitting on it during the hottest month of the year, grease spilled all over my deck from the barbeque, and the water left on for days until I found it, I'll be paying even more bills. I was offered $200 for compensation, REALLY! When I balked he raised his voice and rudely told me that he didn't owe me anything but would go no higher than $400 in compensation. 23 days of misery and property damage not to mention the broken contract and rude owner. He kept saying that prices aren't what they used to be and seemed upset that we had made other appointments for other estimates. My review is based on the sales rep, William, who caught me outside of my home and gave me a flyer before he decided to provide negative remarks about my home to which I ripped up the flyer in his face and went about my day. Is that how Kroll gets business, by making insulting comments? That's a no for me. Based on the other reviews doesn't seem like they have the best reputation around town. Now I know why the Sales guy was so eager to get us to commit on the Sunday he came out to my home back in Dec. of last year. We needed a new roof because it was leaking bad over our screened in porch that is totally finished. Fast forward to now they put on the new roof in Jan. and it's not only been leaking but it's worse now than ever before. It's July 22 2019. We complained over and over but they take days to return calls and are never around when you try to call them back. We have been spun now for over 7 months. A few months ago a guy head of roofing that can not speak very good English came out and used some liquid nails to glue down corner of roof where lea is then through the tube in my back yard and my dog got ahold of it. He also left the gate open. Well it's still leaking and it's bad. I'm also finding nails all over the place so be careful because you may get a flat tire as well. I really should have read all the terrible reviews before saying yes to these incompetent family owned business. On April 13,2018 a new roof was put on my home by Kroll construction, 29017 Ford Road, Garden City, mi 48135 (phone number: 734 422 4840. I paid $12,955.00 for the new roof. On September 20, 2018, I woke up to a water leak in my kitchen ceiling. Apparently the roof had leaked, went through the attic insulation, through the ceiling and a ceiling beam. I called Kroll construction, as I had never had a leak even before I paid $12,955.00 for a new roof (BTW, they wanted to charge me $25,500.00 for the roof. I will get to that story in another review). The office worker I spoke with told me I would need to speak with the installer. The installer called me and could not look at the roof until Sunday September 23,2018. The installer came over on a Sunday after he refused to set a time frame when I asked him. He showed up with a caulking gun to fix a problem that he did not diagnose yet. He went on the roof. He said he caulked where it wouldn't matter and basically he does not know what's the problem or where the leak is coming from. He also said he can't talk about who is responsible for the damage inside. I have called Kroll construction several times asking to speak with the owner. I have left several messages and I have not received a return call. It appears the lack of quality workmanship has caused a leak into my kitchen, causing damage to the attic, insulation and kitchen ceiling.
