Half of a burger combo meal.
Jim C.

Don't judge me but every once in a while we like to eat dinner at Kroger. Not just any Kroger. The one at 161st and Spring Mill. We get the hamburger combo for $6.99 that comes with a burger, fries and a drink. We get the burger with bacon and grilled onions and mushrooms. The cook's name is Al. He is very friendly and cooks the meal to perfection, in our opinion. The onions on the burger are nice and caramelized. The fries are crisp, the way we like them. We've been to other Kroger's (the one on Rangeline and Carmel Dr) but no one cooks this combo as well as Al. At other stores we've had limp (half cooked) fries and onions that were not grilled enough. This isn't a burger joint so set your expectations accordingly. But it is a good, fast, inexpensive hamburger combo meal.

Sooo crowded and no social distancing.
Amy C.

Not cleaning carts, not limiting customers, not enforcing social distancing at all. I think this will be my last trip to Kroger's for a while. I do not feel safe here.

One of three cases of cheese at this location.

This Kroger has made me a Kroger fan. Staff is friendly and there is a good selection of grocery items. On weekends there is often a live vocalist singing oldies. They have good prices on produce and an outstanding cheese and wine selection. They have a chef grilling gourmet burgers today for customers to sample. The burgers were outstanding. We picked up Wild Gulf shrimp ($9.99 pound) and fresh oysters (59 cents each). They have a florist, deli, bakery, Starbucks in store, pharmacy and sushi chef there is also a gas station. They offer self service checkout or full service. The only downside is the parking lot is long and narrow and crowded for an Indiana grocery store. It is hard to get in and out of the lot when it is crowded. I recommend going early morning if possible.

a receipt with a qr code on it

went to Kroger's in Westfield, Indiana on 12/20/2021. I purchase 6 2.5 gallons of water and 4 28 packs of the bottled water, 1 3 stalk pack of garlic and a ocean spray cran-apple juice. when I got to the register the cashier said I will be back in a minute. she spent about 3 minutes speaking to another cashier while looking at me suspicious. she then returned and said do you have insta-cart. I responded by asking what is that. she replied with an attitude oh forget it. she then proceeded scan my items. after I paid she handed me the receipt. I asked her if she is not going to bag up my items. she said I am not going to bag up your water. I told her I am not asking you to bag up my water. I want you to bag my juice and garlic. so I asked for a manager or a supervisor. she yells out to another employee oh he wants a manager because I wont bag up his water. I waited for about 5 minutes. then I left. I then called the corporate customer service number to file a complaint. after I got home I called the store to file a complaint with the manager. I don't understand what her problem was. I was well mannered and professional with her the whole time. I sincerely hope it was not a race thing. Me and my wife are trying not to think that way. In the future I will not be spending my money there.

Just the fat.

I do love me a fancy grocery store. If I thought that you'd know what I was talking about, I would…read moresay that Market District is almost exactly like the Gelson's of the Midwest. But only two Midwesterners I know would know what I'm talking about, and both of them don't read my Yelp reviews, so I'm not going to say that. (Unless you lived in SoCal, too? And you know Gelson's? If so, high five!) So! For our purposes, Market District is like an upscale Kroger. This Market District is much smaller than the Market District in Carmel. I was walking around, looking at all of the pretty food, and before I knew it, I had made a complete lap around the store. But even though it's pint-sized, there are still lots of great things all around. The bakery, especially, has lots of delicious-looking goodies. The meat section is tiny but tidy. The one section that seems abundant is the wine and liquor section. I saw some nice bottles of red wine. When I walked by the shelf-stable alternative milk, I was a little shocked to see so many varieties. Walnut milk, cashew milk, pistachio milk, sunflower milk, oat milk and even banana milk! That's not even all of them, either. This is the place to get your milks. It's nice to have a Market District in Westfield so close to Grand Park. This area felt like something was missing, and it was definitely a grocery store.

I've never had any issues shopping here, but yesterday I had to grab a few produce items prior to…read morepicking up my Flashfood order. The produce section appeared a bit light on options. I grabbed the last available bag of jalapeno peppers and there were no individual peppers available for purchase. I paid $1.70 for a single red onion and when it came to the individual tomatoes, the options were very scarce as well. I picked up about 5 Roma tomatoes that did not have any stickers on them and when I got to the checkout line, the cashier rang them in as plum tomatoes. I told her that, although I wasn't sure of what type of price difference there was, but that I believed those to be Roma tomatoes. She was very dismissive and typed in a code for "hydro tomatoe" and shrugged at the 42 cent price difference. I didn't press the issue any further, but it was frustrating. I later looked up the difference between the two types of tomatoes and found that Roma is a specific type of plum tomato, so we were both correct. All of the confusion could have been avoided by the produce being properly tagged. I asked the gentleman that had been assisting the cashier if he would be able to help me with my Flashfood order. He whispered his questions but was otherwise very helpful. I was bummed that the apple dippers were not present in the refrigerator, but that item was refunded for me. I hope that during my next visit, the produce will be fully stocked and properly tagged.

The vitamin and supplement section is great. For instance, you can find at least a dozen different kinds of magnesium supplements! Who knew there was more than one kind of magnesium, and who knew that there are twelve different brands to choose from, including the store generic brand. I was in the supplement aisle a lot longer than I thought I would be, just reading all of the bottles. But it's a nice problem to have, though. I'd rather be surrounded by too many options than not enough. Fresh Thyme is one of the only places where I can find Frontera brand tortilla chips. If you want a solid tortilla chip -- the kind that will have people asking you what kind of tortilla chips they are at your next party -- get this brand at Fresh Thyme. I also like this Fresh Thyme because they have meal ideas immediately to your right when you walk in. I sometimes visit Fresh Thyme when I don't have a plan for dinner, but I'll be inspired to make something based on what I see displayed in this section. I like not thinking about things when I don't have to. Fresh Thyme allows me to not think.

They never look wilted or picked over and I love that. The store is never crowded, so I'm able to park, step inside, pick my bouquet (they're right by the entrance) and hop directly over to the self-check-out. Most recently, I purchased some gorgeous roses to present to my daughter at her graduation.
