They don't carry as many organic options as other grocery stores in the neighborhood, which is not a dealbreaker. If you're running low on some kitchen stuff, this is the place to pick it up, or if you need something last-minute to pick up on the way home. I do like the fact that their shopping carts are not all over their parking lot like many other grocery stores, and there is more than enough parking. To the contrary, there's a persistent weird odor inside the store that's been there for years. Small thing, but noticeable (and not a thing with other stores nearby). The building itself is a bit old and could be updated. Overall, it is conveniently located, reasonably priced, and all employees are always friendly. Solid choice for shopping.

This is what I'd call a neighborhood Kroger. While there's a bigger, brighter, and better Kroger at…read more71st and Binford, this Kroger adequately serves this neighborhood with a couple apartment complexes nearby and a rather large residential area that surrounds it. This is not a Kroger you go to because you want to - this is a Kroger you go to because it's convenient. I used to frequent this Kroger more often, however, as of late I tend to find myself either at Target down the street a bit or Meijer (which is the closest to my home). However, I found myself in this area recently and I do like some of the Kroger-branded products. So, I decided to stop in. This Kroger is in a shopping center that is really only about half full. Kroger definitely dominates it, though in the outer lot there's an Arby's, Sahm's Place, and a Kroger gas station. This Kroger has had some renovations, however, it still feels a little run down to me. While smaller than some locations, it does have most of the basics including a pharmacy (with outside walk-up), bakery, pickup/delivery, and vaccines are available here with evening hours. As is true of any Kroger location I've seen, there are accessible parking spots, automatic doors, and a general commitment to accessibility. The interesting thing with the parking here is more related to the customers - while it's always true that people use accessible spots who don't need them (or have the ID), I've experienced an extraordinary number of times here when people park on the blue-striped spots (which is illegal). A number of times, I've had to wait for someone to come out to either move their car or leave. It happens on occasion anywhere, but here it's actually pretty common. For those of us who are wheelchair users who drive, it's particularly troubling as people typically do it to the driver's side. It's actually one of the reasons I stopped coming to this location - it happened a lot and Kroger did nothing about it. Kroger is really just your average grocery store. They're great about hiring people with disabilities - that's a huge plus. However, having gotten used to going elsewhere I have to say it feels dirtier, less friendly, and more like I just want to get in/out. I also find some of the prices here are considerably higher than other nearby options. The carts here are also hit-and-miss. As a wheelchair user, I need a cart that rolls (preferably one of the shorter carts). Some do here. Some don't. I have an attitude with Aldi so don't go there (Ask me sometime. I'll share the story). I love Target, however, Target has higher prices and a limited selection. Meijer is generally a solid option. As a side note, I can use Shipt for any of the main three (Kroger, Target, or Meijer), though only Target offers store pricing of the three (which makes sense since Target owns Shipt). This visit was okay. I was looking for the Kroger Rewards brochure so I could get a new card (and get their card-only discounts - for the record, I hate that.). I couldn't find them anywhere, but the cashier did end up having one. I actually switched carts half-way through because I couldn't handle pushing the beat up cart I had. The aisles were a bit more crowded than usual. Again, this is your average Kroger and the experience I had was the definition of average. Would I come back again? Yep, it's convenient. Would I go out of my way to do so? Not a chance. I'll intentionally go to a Target because I enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly employees - here? Get in. Get out. Get done. If that's all you need, this Kroger is fine.

And the deli, bakery, and prepared foods. I love the seafood salad, and it makes great sandwiches with the croissants. There are many specially items that aren't found in other stores. This is a very pleasant store to shop in, and the cashiers are friendly and helpful. There is also a nice seating area in the front of the store with tables and chairs. A nice place to sit and eat a snack or lunch on the go. If I ever need to pick up just a few groceries I like to come here. It is easy in and easy out. Never a long line. I'm glad I live nearby.

I find that I have to go in repeatedly to find items that I regularly purchase. Most of the staff members are helpful if you can find one to ask a question. However, I have to call out the Manager behind the desk who has been particularly "sour" on the few occasions when I have returned items, and I have noticed this same attitude in her own interactions with staff. I think this affects them negatively as it's hard to get a smile from the checkout folks who just mechanically do their jobs (with one long time employee "Go....a" being the exception). There is no sense at all that they enjoy working at this WF. I purchase bread here and it is good, but the area is usually understaffed. Sometimes, there is a 5-6 minute wait to just find someone to slice the bread. Believe me, I'd much rather shop at WF than TJ's, but the staff members at TJ's are quantum leaps better in terms of their consistent friendly customer relations and service. Having said all this, I will say that this WF location's meat counter and produce staff members are the exception....they are very good and helpful. I actually hope that someone in WF corporate will see this review so that they can do something about the institutional issues at this location.

When I have come in for the few things that I needed they've always had them. The one thing I love about Aldi is that their stores are all set up very similarly so you aren't spending all your time at a new location trying to find what you need. This store hasn't been updated like some of the others in the indy are but its still an excellent store. Parking is always easy (could be because I go at about 730 at night). Their staff is always friendly and lines are always well managed (which could be again because of the time I visit this location). A few things about Aldi, if you've never shopped here: -bring a quarter for your shopping cart (if you don't have one you can always go inside and borrow one from the cashier). Aldi does this to keep carts out of the parking lot (which helps keep their prices lower because they don't have to pay someone to fetch carts. -bring your own shopping bags, or be prepared to pay for either plastic or paper bags or you can gather empty boxes throughout the store to manage and transport your items (another way Aldi helps keep the price of their items down) -if you have a question, don't expect to call in on the phone for an answer because they don't keep someone at a desk to answer phone calls (another way to keep their cost down because they aren't paying someone to sit at a desk to answer calls that are few and far between) Try Aldi out because you are guaranteed to have lower prices with the same if not better quality of food. Aldi also stands behind their double replacement guarantee if you are unsatisfied. They will 1. refund you as well as 2. replace the item.

This was my first visit to this Fresh Market. I usually go to the one on 146th Street. When I…read morewalked in, I was mesmerized by the display of orchids. Of course, I snapped a photo. The clerk, who as watering plants turned and asked if I needed help and I told her the orchids were beautiful. She then told me the story of Beverly Barry, one of the store's founders. The Barry's modeled their stores after European markets, with fresh flowers and produce. Beverly loved orchids. She passed away a few years ago and the store honors her memory with magnificent orchid displays. I love this story. The clerk was passionate and proud of Fresh Market, and for good reason. The produce is beautiful. The bakery display of cakes and pastries is beautiful. The candy display - beautiful. Even the seafood counter is gorgeous. I picked up a number of items including craft beer, European tea and coffee. Oh man, the fresh coffee is soooo good. The chain is out of North Carolina. There is accessible parking. The staff is fabulous. I love this grocery.
