Below is an email I wrote to Kroger's CEO. He has not responded in any way... Good morning Mr. McMullen. I wanted to take a moment to describe an incident I witnessed at the Korger located at 1227 Rockbridge Rd SW, Stone Mountain, GA 30087. It was on Friday April 18 at 7 A.M. I was busy shopping (I shop here at least once a week) and a loud verbal altercation broke out on the next aisle. One of your employees was shouting at the top of his lungs at another employee and dropping the "F-bomb" on every third word out of his mouth. It was loud enough to be audible across the entire store. This went on for at least a full minute, nobody in authority made any move to intervene. The other employees appeared to be completely cowed and actually scared of what was transpiring. The other customers I saw all appeared to have reactions from shocked to disgusted (place me in the latter category). When I went to check out, I requested to have the store manager meet me. Apparently. this person was not there, but an employee "Tanya" came up to speak with me. I recognized her as one of the store personnel that was in close proximity to this incident. and she too appeared subdued at that time. I will say, however, that she heard my concern about what had happened and said she would address the issue. I sure hope the loud and profane employee has been properly dealt with. They have no business whatsoever being where they can inflict their hatred and anger on anybody in full eye and earshot of customers. Today is Sunday, and this poor Kroger store experience is still bothering me enough that I feel compelled to call this to your attention. The manager of this location seriously needs to adjust the attitude that is allowed to exist in their area of responsibility. Thank you for your time reading this complaint. Great customer service by Edward the Manager Edward. Not only did he escort me to the Vegan Cheese section, but he also persuaded me to try another Vegan Cheese brand...the store's generic brand...I'm hooked. Funny thing, my normal go-to cheese was sold out due to the Owner of Trend Urban Cafe clearing out the inventory a few minutes before me. No wonder I like those Vegan Burgers & thanks to Edward's assistance & suggestion I have a new cheese to my liking. Side note, the first employee I asked didn't know where the Vegan items were, however, I appreciate how he stopped stocking to go find someone who did. Kroger - Edward the Manager "sold" me on a new brand & I liked, 10.9.2020. - Grocery Near Me - Stone Mountain, Georgia

The food is decently priced, fresh and the shelves are stocked consistently, but some of the employees are mean, unprofessional, and unfriendly. Some workers in the meat department don't speak when you say hello or if you ask a question have nasty attitudes and snap on you. I understand that everyone has a bad day but if I'm in your establishment spending my hard earned money the least you can do is answer a question without neck rolling or being sassy. Not all employees are this way but more are than are not. It is a rarity to find one helpful person there. Many Publix employees are professional and friendly. When you walk in their stores they are clean, well lit, and they smell fresh. This makes you want to buy their products and spend your money. This is the opposite of the Kroger Rockbridge location. I kept telling myself to stop shopping here but it is convenient. read more

I have shopped this Kroger for many years. No more. Constantly out of stock; I haven't made a trip there in quite a while that they were out of stock for several staple items on my list. Deli and meat counter staff are either not present or extremely slow with service. I *used* to order pickup occasionally. No more. The last order was beyond messed up; it was picked from the distribution center and shipped to the store, all of the fresh items were canceled as out of stock. I had to go into the store and shop those items. I love the Kroger app and the Kroger brand items. I'm done with the Rockbridge location. read more

Welcome to my review. This is a very good Kroger when it comes to having stock. They rarely ever run out of anything. It is hard to find help or navigate in some aisles. The signs on the top do not tell us much, but that's all Kroger's. This Kroger is fairly clean. The bakery is pretty large as well. The parking lot is fairly large. It is located in a plaza, with another small plaza next door. It has few near by shops and restaurants. There is a Starbucks inside this Kroger. There is a Kroger gas station next door. The prices are hard to tell since they removed the price signs on Five Forks Road. I recommend this Kroger over many other Kroger's. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. read more

This Kroger is a nice a store for the area. They are not only a grocery store, but they have a Starbucks kiosk and a gas station. I do love some Kroger gas with the fuel points! Every time we have visited this Kroger it has been clean, the staff has been friendly, and they have been stocked with the groceries we needed. Usually we visit in the mornings so we can get coffee from Starbucks when we are here; don't forget to use to your Kroger card for fuel points. Speaking of fuel, this Kroger has the cheapest fuel in the area; and when you add your points you save big. The staff he as always been super friendly and helpful. read more

I was in this store today and have usually had an excellent experience. Today, my experience was concerning. The employees in the store stood around instead of helping me, not to mention--they did not honor the 6 feet social distancing rule. One employee was in such a rush to close my self-checkout that he closed the terminal before my receipt printed and stood very close to me --so close that I asked him to step back. Next, as I was waiting on my receipt to print, and another employee let out two loud sneezes and didn't cover his mouth. This is not the time for people to be laughing and joking around, especially when people are shopping at your stores during this difficult time. This store is not taking the Coronavirus public health crisis seriously, so I recommend going elsewhere. read more

Used to love this Kroger, but takes longer and longer to exit once done shopping. Often only one lane open or the option to scan for yourself with little room to do so, not to mention takes forever if you try with a large order- which is necessary at times due to the ridiculous line at the register. I know staffing is challenged these days, but a closer look at repurposing the staff may be in order to assist guests trying to shop in a tighter time frame. I avoid this location if I'm in a hurry. read more

Came in to get a western union wire from my dad. Should be simple. They left me waiting for 55 minutes mutes waiting for the manager to dispense the cash. Never could get an explanatory as to what took so long. My groceries all melted while waiting. So frustrating!!!! Still waiting while typing this review. I've about had it with this store. It was super fantastic when it first opened and for many years after. As soon as the first manager left it has just gone downhill. They've stopped carrying a lot of my go to items. Now they've changed their hours again. At first it was open 24 hrs (I can understand the change from that), then it closed at 1am, then 12 am, now 11pm. I just got here thinking I had an hour, nope, closed. read more

I live down the street from the Rockbridge location and shop there a couple of times per week. It used to be a pleasure to shop there but that is changing. The cleanliness and organization of the store has taken a downturn. I believe they may be under new management. The other manager used to walk the floor and talk to patrons but it haven't seen him for a couple months. It has become quite common to have to ask for the price of items because things are not clearly marked. Just yesterday I purchased a bottle of hotsauce for 5.99 when it was in a spot that was marked 2.49. (At least there was a price, even if it was wrong.) They are pushing more toward the self checkout. This is fine but make sure they are manned and working properly. On Thursday my wife received blank 2 coupons in the self checkout lane. Yesterday (Saturday) I received 5 blank coupons. In my opinion this is a reflection of the management, I feel they are complacent and merely going through the paces. I've seen it over the years(in different industries). If management doesn't care why should the employees. Due to the proximity to my home I will continue to shop there and be frustrated, but I would recommend others to find another market if you are able. read more

(PHARMACY REVIEW) I live right down the street & I have all medication called in to this location. I honestly have never felt more compassion than I do when I simply pick up medication from the wonderful group of people who work at this location. I've lived in Smoke Rise around 5 years now, & I'm so thankful to have a place I can go & feel zero judgement from any med I may be picking up, or the quantity. In this day and age, that's a super rarity. :) Also, the pharmacists are phenomenal. I ask them for advice, etc, and sometimes I don't even need the super pricey eye drops, etc. that I'm supposed to pick up! Thank you for being so knowledgeable and kind! (GROCERY REVIEW) Best grocery store Ive ever had that is literally 5 minutes from my house. I never wait in line, people are courteous & helpful... so many pros about this location I could go on & on. The only con is the produce. Probably thinking, why am I wasting time on reviewing a grocery store? I'll tell you why, because in this day and age, a grocery store with good customer service is like not seeing an "urban hiker" in Little Five Points asking for money. It just doesn't happen. I work near this Kroger, but if I lived out here, I certainly wouldn't shop anywhere else. Even if the Wal-Mart up the street was giving away free chicken wings (which may or may not happen considering the fact I saw people lined up there at 10am for wings once). Great customer service on the floor and at the register. It's got a great community vibe even though that area is experiencing a tremendous economic downturn. You would think that you were in a grocery store from the 80's heyday of Gwinnett instead of the dead zone that it is slowly becoming. To actually have employees who help you and give a friendly hello, is almost nonexistent in the Atlanta area, and I'm glad to see that management here puts alot of emphasis on this. Very impressed with the selection here especially for a Georgia store. Many healthy food and ORGANIC options here! I am very particular about quality of food and they had almost everything I needed. Prices were reasonable. Some of the healthy things I purchased include: Pasture Raised Eggs (organic & non-GMO) Organic apples, bananas, oranges Organic spinach Organic and sprouted Ezekiel bread Organic Cold-pressed green juice and beet juice Organic frozen Amy meals Organic frozen pizza Coconut water Almond milk Organic Almond butter Organic butter Organic refined coconut oil (no coconut scent -great for cooking) I'm very happy that this Kroger location gives me many healthy options and helps me stay thin in an environment where I am surrounded by junk food and low quality fast food chains. read more

This is probably the dirtiest grocery store in the area. The managers are also extremely inattentive to other employees and staff. This morning the shelves that hold the yogurt were disgusting! They had a dirty/moldy substance on the shelves (see attached picture). Also, all the chocolate milk expired yesterday (9/21) but it was still on the shelf! During check out I had to bag my own groceries as a manager was standing in a row restocking shelves and could see customers bagging groceries. This Kroger compared to the Kroger on Five Forks has no customer service at all! While they have a large selection of items the cleanliness and leaving expired items out is unacceptable. I could even deal with bagging my own groceries and disconnected managers, but filth on a shelf with dairy products is not acceptable! read more

I scheduled for a time between 1-2, which worked for me. They called at 12:30 to reschedule me to 3-4. Trying to work around my kids, I got here a little before 4 and all the spots were full (there's only 5 of them). I called a d was told I would just have to wait until something opened up. And the lady was rude on the phone, like it's somehow my fault they had to reschedule my order and then they only have 5 spots. I was polite to her. Strongly recommend AGAINST using this store for pickup. read more

Friendly, helpful staff and an excellent selection of organic food. I also highly recommend their click list option if you have small kids. You put your order together online and then just drive to the back of the store, call a number and they bring it out to your car and load it for you. read more

I had a terrible experience with ordering food via Kroger's Clicklist at the Rockbridge Rd-Stone Mountain location. My order was scheduled for pick-up from 1-2pm. I arrived at 2:20pm and waited over 20 minutes. A Kroger associated stated they had mixed ups with orders which caused the delay. I informed them that I could not wait any longer and to cancel/refund my order. A totally unprofessional Kroger associated yelled at me as I drove off and said I would not get a credit because I already paid. Fast forward... I called Kroger Corporate office and filed a complaint and request a refund. I received improper information from several customer service reps. Called several times and still waiting for a credit two weeks later. I will contact my credit card company and dispute the charges for a refund. I will NEVER shop at this Kroger again. read more

Thanks s is the closest Kroger to my house but since they have gone to almost all self checkouts I hate to come here. Nobody wants to self checkout an entire weeks worth of groceries!! The staff is helpful and friendly but that doesn't make up for the self checkout. I will be complaining to management again but that doesn't help. This Kroger is my fave. It's big, clean, and has lots of friendly workers. There is a Starbucks inside with a few tables and chairs to sit and chill. Next to it, you can buy sushi, made daily. Behind it is the bakery selection. Besides it is the health section with lots of variety of almond milk, that's a plus for me since a lot of grocery stores nowadays only have three flavors, at the most. I can go on and on. Bad day at my Kroger.....bad day 2days ago at my Kroger. Now I am beginning to get a pattern. No one at the seafood counter after waiting. Finally someone came to help but she had never worked in that dept....so that took some time to help me. Wanted some Kroger brand hot sausage (it's the best) but none available this week. Told me it was on sale and I should get there earlier. Didn't understand that comment. And finally...on both days this week there was only one check out available with 4 people in line. One clerk...whose apparent job was to funnel customers into the self checkout line could have manned a checkout station and really helped us. Instead, he just kept reminding us we could self checkout and save some time. No one was willing to do this....although...he never gave up trying. I was told that checker come in after 11 am. And today I was told by someone in customer service (after waiting for someone to come along with 3 other customers) that after 2 pm...more checkouts are manned. I waited for a manger to come but I was really late after running into all this nonsense that I just left. But after I got home I realized that someone is just not doing their job. I love this Kroger! They bend over backwards to help you and they are also willing to help out with community efforts. Jay Walker and Randy Nason are great managers and the different department managers are also great to help you. I also like having the Starbucks there. I hated it when the Starbucks at Lake Lucerne closed up but now that it's been at Kroger for over a year, that staff has become part of my family. They are so friendly and they even remember my name and what I like to order! Michael, the manager at Starbucks is a great guy and he has a real heart for customer service. If you don't go to this Kroger and live in this area, you need to start going TODAY! read more

This store is right down the street from me so I do most of my grocery shopping here. The store is clean and the employees are always helpful. They have a starbucks if you're into coffee. I typically see a few people I know when I come here. I'm glad this Kroger came in to replace the bleak, abandoned building that stood for such a long time. My only warning is that parking can be a nightmare here. It's a big lot, but it tends to be crowded more often than not. read more

Not sure what the fuss is about Kroger not near as good as a Publix! Asked for help into different areas of the store and they couldn't even find the item for me and I had to look for it myself. This used to be my favorite store and I have been faithfully shopping there since it opened. However, it has been on a downward spiral as far as the fresh produce section goes. Too many rotten fruits and vegetables have been observed on my bi-weekly visits, that finally it has put me off the entire section, is there no manager to monitor this section or have they given up and just don't care? It certainly looks that way I did complain to the manager, who promised to look into it. When I asked him when was the last time was that he looked at the produce section, he couldn't give me an answer. I will be taking my fresh produce business to Sprouts, even though they are not convenient, I know they have a great produce section and a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables to offer. read more
