Not to be confused with Kruger, as in Diane Kruger or Freddie Kruger, which is not a grocery store, not by any stretch of the imagination. This is a massive Kroger located in New Caney, and it seems brand new compared to most, even though it's been here a little while. The problem with Kroger is very high prices, but there's not a lot of options around here, so it's cool to have a massive Kroger with pretty cheap gas out front. There is a gas station located at Kroger and it is a lot cheaper than a lot of the other stations, especially around here, it's probably the cheapest gas I found within a few miles, so I usually fill up here when I come and visit Barbi's Aunt who lives right here, about 2 miles from this Plaza, which we've been to a million times now. read more

Well kept store but this review is for the bakery. I ordered a cake on Sunday July 16th for the next day July 17th for my twins 21st Birthday. The guy that took the order couldn't spell birthday so I had to write out my own cake order. After take my own order the guy stated "you need to pay now & bring back receipts to have order safe for tomorrow"... I did as told & gave him a copy of the receipt. I was kinda wondering why but didn't question him, I order a cake on June 11th for June 12th & didn't have to pay in advance at the humble location. Well they require a payment because the cakes are ugly. They have crumb coat throughout the frosting the writing looks like a 7 year done it. I'm sorry $40.99 its not worth it! Oh how much I want to enjoy this location. I cannot. The pharmacy is a joke to get your prescription in a timely manner. On average, it takes 30-45 minutes of waiting in line then over 24 hours to get a prescription filled. Do not be in a hurry. Their grocery pick up was my favorite for about a year. It is now turning into the pharmacy. I would rather drive farther for better service. read more

This location is not too bad...it's close to the house...and the surrounding businesses are everything I need to one stop shop...this store is very well kept...the shelves are always stocked...at least when I'm there...the staff is nice majority of the time...and they normally go out of their way to assist you...the fruits and vegetables are always fresh...and the flower section is very beautiful...the main gripe I have about this location is the parking...the parking situation is not the best...it's always over crowded...and it's just too small...I don't know if the employees are using the front spots to park...but if they are...it would be helpful if they would allow the customers to park near the store...other than that...this store is a good location to shop at read more

Careful when shopping at this Kroger. From what the manager Elana told me it's my job to check every tag and make sure they or there vendors priced the product correct. She refused to to honor the pricing on the Shelf. By the time I took a picture there was already another person looking at this pricing and champagne. She always likes to stare at what I'm buying and hover over and around me pretending to clean things or stock the random stuff they have above the machines. Its very uncomfortable. Also, I don't care for the fact they have a sign up on the door clearly requiring face masks, yet you then walk right past a very large employee working the customer service desk who isn't wearing one at all. Kroger's at Valley Ranch, New Caney has lost yet another customer -- me! Went early today -- Nov. 24 -- to beat the day-before-Thanksgiving crowd and I saw at least half a dozen of shoppers with NO masks, and several more with masks below their noses. Even though Kroger's says they are required. Not only that, but apparently Kroger's has such disregard for masks and trying to protect the shoppers, that even though they "require masks" ---- there were numerous Kroger's personnel -- stocking fresh product, bread and meats -- with no masks! I saw many other employees standing around chatting and/or stocking shelves with masks pulled down below their noses, which is of little protection to anyone. I tried talking to a "woman in charge" --- short hair (I think it was spiked) and she just stared at me like I was from outer space, shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Kroger's -- get your damn act together! I will no longer spend my hard earned dollars at Kroger's. read more

I've never had an issue coming to this store but today June 19th 2024 around 1pm I was in the store walking around looking for some things. my vehicle stalled and decided to get some items from krogers! When finally decided what to get I was standing on an isle looking at some items on my phone when a cop a manager and other 2 employees approached me accusing me of taking pictures of females ! And to make it clear why would I want to do that I don't like women! I was Discriminated and falsely accused and kicked out! They have tons of surveillance cameras why didnt bother looking at them before accusing me of such delicate subject! I was with my partner and he got frightened at the situation! The cop asked to see our phone photos and we complied! there was nothing they could have base those accusations! And still asked us to leave by saying we have the right to refuse anyone service. Covering their behind knowing they did wrong! I never felt so humiliated for something I did not do! Everyone was looking at us as if we were criminals! I was discriminated and the manager was all smiles as if it was something to be proud of! hopefully krogers the company does something about this because I had absolutely no intention to do harm or cause any trouble and much less have my day worsen since I was stalled in their parking lot! read more

They get 5 stars because every time I go they gave everything in stock and good selection. I go at night time usually on Sunday nights when the crowd is gone and they replenish everything and there's no big crowds. I know pharmacy can get backed up but it's about the time and when you go every time I go at the right time. I never have to wait more than five minutes. which for nowadays it's considered good service because not many people want to work anymore but the Kroger pharmacy doesn't excellent job and getting my prescriptions done as I just moved to this area a month ago. The Kroger's before was the same way except they were really short staffed and I had to wait for than 30 minutes there so this one the max I've had her to wait 10 minutes, but that has nothing , This Kroger's still does a great job. This store does not enforce its own requirement for all employees and shoppers to wear masks. Most shoppers and most employees did wear masks but several shoppers did not and some employees wore masks below their noses. Kroger management ignores their own posted rules. Masks are to protect others. Protect others as you would want yourself and your family protected. read more

Great grocery store, nice and clean. The products are well stocked, in date, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pharmacy is great but occasionally I will wait longer than necessary. I've gone up after calling to make sure my prescription is ready, only to have to wait 20 minutes when I arrive 40 minutes after my call. That is my only complaint about this store. read more

I drive a little further to go to this store because they have a good selection, lots of open lanes to check out and a friendly staff. The 1 star is for one recent experience. I went to purchase ribs for a cookout we were having. I ran in and grabbed a package of pork ribs and a package of beef ribs. I was in a rush and did not look at the dates (I know, my mistake). However, when I opened the beef ribs, they were horribly bad and smelled like dead fish. I looked at the expiration date and it was 7/17. I bought them on 7/22. I looked at the other ribs and they were also expired (as of 7/20). Lesson learned, ALWAYS check the date. However, I don't understand why rotten meat is still out for sale. Not very appetizing to think about. read more

At 2:40 p.m we went and got meat tortillas at the self check out nearest to the pharmacy the lady can't remember her name cause of enragement she started off ignoring my aunt and I. Then she came over in our business and she says one of our phones were ringing she says the phone is ringing and if she wants us to answer it so we said no. The some other people needed to get something but they needed to get it approved for id purposes and she takes 10 minutes to get over there and she was so rude and originally my aunt loved this Kroger but now she is upset and enraged about this incident and she is not thinking about giving this Kroger any more service thank you for your time. read more

Was stalked outside the parking lot walking to my car and had some random Asian girl run up to my car and stand by my passanger door (while I was trying to get in) and started talking to me in Spanish. It's not that often I shop at the Valley Ranch location and after today I may never shop there again. Store was a little busy and of course, not enough registers open. My husband and I were discussing how we should have went to HEB and the sacker was listening to our conversation and had the nerve to say, "You know ya'll can use the Scan & Go lanes to checkout". Well first of all Crystal, we dont go grocery shopping to shop, check ourselves out and bag our on groceries. Many employees wear masks around their chin or below their nose or hanging from one ear. Many employees think they should take their mask off when on breaks in the store. I asked the Starbucks /Kroger employee to cover his nose (also) while preparing my food and drink... he politely complied but handling food & drink, standing over food prep surfaces while half-masked is not OK and no consumer should have to make such a request. A Kroger deli employee wore her hair net on break but wore her mask around her chin while leaning on the stainless steel counter barely out of her work area. read more

This location routinely stocks outdated/expired products. LOOK LOOK LOOK if you're shopping in store and if you're a ClickList customer adding an expiration notation to your shopping cart items is a MUST! "Do not fulfill if expires within (one month)" for example. Kroger is def not my fave store but my closest and most convenient option for now. This Valley Ranch location seems to be worse than others I have visited. Just a heads up to be mindful! And speaking of ClickList, if you ARE an in store shopper, be ready to work around employees filling online orders because they will NOT work around you! read more

Shocked to see 30 to 40 percent of customers not wearing masks, and employees as well. Pointed this out to two managers. I'm an HEB fan but go here occasionally. The staff is friendly, the store is well stocked with name brands, and the prices aren't as bad as Randalls/Tom Thumb/Safeway. I was looking at the scale in the bulk section as it didn't seem to work well. As I started to walk away, a stocker came over from a different aisle to see what the problem was. I was amazed. I think those watching the cameras tell their stockers when someone is needing help in the store which I think, if true, is pretty amazing. The stocker told me the scale was out of paper, replaced the paper, and pulling an item off the shelf to verify the scale worked, printed out a ticket that said 0.15 pounds. He told me it was working. I asked why an item that had a weight of 9oz would say 0.15 pounds. He told me the scale was broken and it was undercharging. I told the check out lady who weighed my product on her scale, figured out the price on her Iphone, and charged me according to the correct price. Take away- bulk section isn't nearly as good as it was when they first opened but the help is friendly. Cameras are used to help customers. read more
