Being it was National Baby Back Ribs Day (was notified of this thru an email of Kroger's) ordered some for an in house meeting. They were very tasty and tender. A few pieces were charred but still very good! I have to go back to ask what sauce they used as it was not overly sweet. Accompanied the ribs with Kroger Mac salad and their baked beans and chocolate cookies. All were very well received by the employees attending the meeting!! Great job Chef Brittney!! read more

I've been a Kroger shopper since ... I guess ... I was old enough to accompany my parents to the grocery store. And this is one of the nicest Krogers I've been to. This is one of those mega-Krogers that is like if a Kroger and a Walmart had a baby. I walked in to find not food in front of me but clothes. And I soon found my way to the baby/infant clothes section, where I stocked up on several shirts at about $6 each for my son. After the giddiness of finding such cuteness where I hadn't been expecting any had subsided, my son and I continued our grocery shopping. I was happy to find a great selection among the meat and dairy sections. The deli was similarly well stocked -- keep an eye out for the chocolate hummus! -- and the salad bar looked to have many great options in it. Next to it was the expansive sushi area that shouldn't be missed as well. The service at this Kroger was also great. I was asked four or five times by different associates if I needed any help finding anything. If you can go out of your way a bit to go to a great Kroger, this one is definitely not to be missed, though your wallet may take a hit after you find items that weren't on the list that you'd still like to buy. read more

Starting this off, I'd like to put out there that I've never been a fan of Kroger. For decades I'd do my weekly shopping at Meijer, Hy-Vee, or VG's (back in Illinois and Michigan, respectively). In my mind Kroger was the grocery store equivalent of McDonald's. I always found better selections elsewhere, better prices, and had a better shopping experience. I must admit that, since moving to Louisville my opinion about Kroger has improved. Since the Holiday Manor and the Hurstbourne locations were upgraded the stores are much nicer to shop in. They're cleaner and not as cluttered as they used to feel. They now offer clothing (albeit quite pricey) and an expanded HBA department. We recently started shopping at Kroger over Meijer because there are a few things that Kroger has a larger variety of. Their bakery is MUCH nicer now, their seasonal action is sizable, and their produce is well stocked an maintained. There are a few things I'm still adjusting to. Shopping, as we do, on Sundays, the place is usually pretty packed and it's not uncommon for us to circumnavigate an aisle because someone is mindlessly looking at the canned beans while their cart blocks traffic, to which they are completely oblivious. All in all it's become a pretty good shopping experience, so I'll give it a while longer. read more

Was at the door to go in at 9:50pm for one item. Knew they close at 10pm. Said we're closed and wouldn't let me in. A few more people after me had the same problem. Maybe they should update their hours to closed at 9:50pm. Happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

Kroger is my go-to grocer, so I wanted to compare/contrast my visit with a store from another city. There's not too much difference in this store from my own local Kroger. I likened the experience to visiting multiple locations around my city. For instance, the layout and floor plans vary from store to store. Depending on the square footage of the location, the Kroger may offer a wine and spirits shop, a Starbucks, a clothing section, or other in store attraction. This location had a huge space set up for the Click List Pickup Service. All in all, I was able to find what I was looking for and still get the Kroger experience I'm accustomed to getting. read more

Some Kroger employees need customer service training. A specific example is the following: One day at self-check out at Stony Brook Kroger, Louisville, KY, I was surprised by an middle-aged female associate, who took great/peculiar interest watching/staring my checkout process. Her position was at Kroger's Little Clinic side. At first, I thought as there were not many customers, she had nothing to do. Later every checkout station was occupied, and she was still standing close to me staring my process, and verbally started: scan this. I don't understand. All the big grocery stores have self-checkout, which is probably setup based on the belief that majority of customers are honest. she has probably had bad experience with customers of certain age, or certain gender, or certain ethnic group, or even certain appearance, but as a customer service employee, does she understand the basic protocol of respect her customers? Should she leave her prejudice at home when coming to work? Did she go through Kroger's basic training of customer service? surely Kroger would execute its routine evaluation of its employees, a behavior like this can't be called respectful. read more

Stonybrook Kroger in Louisville KY is a mess. Displays blocking isles. Junk hanging on frozen food glass obstructing view. Cannot get two carts down some isles. Pallets in the way. There's not enough room for groceries. Loose the clothing section. That section has nothing blocking the isles and is empty. We don't go to Kroger for clothes. read more

This Kroger is just alright, it is my least favorite Kroger. Kroger is usually excellent os that's still fairly strong. However, this one always seems like someone died at the store and everyone moves around in a morose, shifty way. It always seems like it needs to be straightened up and cleaned around the edges. Maybe the lighting is bad? Who knows? They offer the things you'd expect from a Kroger: groceries, a pharmacy, bakery, flowers, and even a butcher. There is no candle stick maker. This is a great place to buy candy to hide in your purse before going to the movies since it's right by the theater. read more

I'm not from Louisville, that said I think a lot of places here can be a little seedy. This Kroger is in a nicer area and I think the Kroger is nice itself. Today I'm shopping and I have to take a poop. So go to the bathroom, and I see two choices. Literal shit on the seat. Or shit on the walls surrounding the seat. I get it. I wouldn't want to clean up this damn mess either, but in addition to the store, I guess it's reflective of the full spectrum of people that shop here. Wall shitters. who the heck does that. Forget Wuhan. This bathroom is where COVID-19 started. read more

This place is currently under renovation but it already is amazing!! You could spend hours in this store just strolling around. The produce section is to die for! They have a bread and olive bar too! They might also be the friendliest Kroger in town. Multiple employees came up to help me. Obviously I am new to this store so I just wondered around looking for the few items I stopped in to pick up. They also have a toy section and clothing section. Most of the clothing section was closed off when I visited. I was surprised to see that they had patio furniture sets. The check out area is super cramped but it looks like they are in the middle of expanding it. I would drive across town to visit this Kroger store! read more

One of the worse Kroger locations in town. Never enough lanes open. Never enough support for self check out. Always long lines. Why have 23 lanes when two are only ever open. And you will always have to bag your own groceries as they don't have enough help. Can't wait till Publix gets here. You never have to bag your own groceries there. The competition should spur Kroger to do better...much better. read more

Kroger advertises "Fresh For Everyone" I don't think so. Just purchased onions next day cut into one and rotten this is happening more and more often. Once even commented to an employee that most of the remaining strawberries for sale were rotten and the response was "somebody will buy them" read more

This kroger gets 5 stars. I've been to just about every Kroger in Louisville and none can compete. The store is always super clean, and you will never find an isle empty. Their new expansion is beautiful and have added new technologies such as 'scan and go' where you scan products directly to your bags; once at the self checkout, simply weight your bag, scan the screen and pay! 5 stars 5 stars!! Visit food area for excellent hot lunch meals too read more

This Kroger may lack in items, but it does not lack in customer service. The seafood & meat department, customer service, produce, and cashiers are dolls! Seriously, they will always talk to me and ask me how my day is going! The organic section is all I will shop throughout. When I cook or bake items, since it's a small health food section, I have to venture out to other aisles. My old Kroger had a much larger section for me to get my all natural face wash (Alba Papaya Pineapple Exfoliator & wash), Witch Hazel lemon toner, and Alba face wipes. When I need these items, I just have to venture out to Rainbow Blossom and Luckys..: which I don't mind :) I do have to say that the Kroger deals never seem to ring up at the register at this location. I have been overcharged multiple times and I only started paying attention to it on every receipt a few months ago. Last week I lost an extra $14 but I quickly returned to get my money back. All in all... It's the Kroger two minutes away from my home and I will continue to go back. But a little more organization and growing the health food section would be a huge improvement! read more

I have used Kroger Pharmacy Stoneybrook J-Town for three decades now. I recently had a wonderful caring experience with Beth . She advised me how to save a LOT of money by using GoodRX discount card for medication my insurance does not pay for. I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff. Most know me by name. I hoe Beth gets some recognition for her kindness. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT order an online pick up order through this Kroger. They never have it ready on time. It always gets delayed hours. My order today was missing 3/4 of the ingredients... I specifically stated that substitutions were ok, but instead of substituting they just completely left them out of the order. One of the items they didn't substitute was hamburger buns... you're telling me they don't have any brand of hamburger buns? Come on, that's just lazy. I'd hope not all Kroger's are this much of a mess with online ordering, but definitely avoid the service at this one- more of a hassle than anything. read more

We've been Kroger's loyal customers for a long time, and like the varieties it provides. Most associates are nice, although occasionally someone who is not. Not long ago, I was at its bread section. The restock practice at Kroger is different, say, from Meijer. You'd rarely encounter a vendor supplying bread while you're shopping, but at Kroger, very often a guy would shuttling back and forth among bread seekers putting bread on shelves, and buyers feel awkward trying to dodge him while reaching for their brands. The day when I walked to my brand, I found a low ladder besides me. Grabbed my bread in hand, I was attracted by the better price of another brand. Just at this moment, I heard the vendor guy howling, come on, come on, we don't have a whole day. As there was only I who was in the aisle, I knew he was yelling at me. Shocked at such a rudeness, I still chose to leave. I wonder if he understood: Only because of the customers does he get a job. A word to Kroger at Stony Brook, Louisville, KY: The business may need training regarding customer service, the etiquette treating customers, and the restocking schedule. read more

The pharmacy staff are all friendly, as are the rest of the staff, with the exception of a one or two. My main issue is that this Kroger sells items that are months past their best by/expiration date. They also often run out of stock by mid-week. ETA: Am I the only one who finds the new expansion more inconvenient? The store is so spread out now. It's worse than Meijer. I find myself sticking to one side of the store when I go now. I will even go to other Kroger stores now. read more

I have to say that since they remodeled the store, attitudes have improved greatly! The vast majority of employees are friendly and helpful!

Perfectly located Grocer. This Kroger is located right at the corner of Hurstborne and Taylorsville Road. Surrounding this store is anything you would need to accomplish afternoon chores. I really like the fact that this Kroger is a block from my gym (Urban Active) so I can grab a post work out shake when my gym continues to tell me they are out of fruit. Besides having a great location the store has a larger selection of produce then most of their stores, has a larger health food section, a huge Bakery, large Deli selection, and is known for their catering area. Don't quote me, but I think this is the Kroger that has the largest Holiday Catering out of all the stores. My company has actually used the lead cater Brittany Knight for the past 6 years for all of our Holiday Party needs. The staff is always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. read more

A true Super Store. If you're into one stop shopping from food to Clothes this is the place

Their pick-up service is continually the best. Other locations would often text to move my pick-up time & there would always be a wait (sometimes up to 30 min). This location is fast, efficient & super friendly. I was hesitant about having someone else pick out my produce but I just add requests for green bananas, medium zucchini, etc. They are a good team! read more

I've shopped at this Kroger for years . They are going through renovations now but, even before the renovations started ,they constantly move items forcing customers to walk the entire store to shop. I know this is a tactic used to have people buy more stuff. However, I have some physical limitations that make this journey extremely difficult. On my recent trip I noticed that there are fewer generic kroger items on the shelves. And to make matters worse, there were fewer lanes opened and no baggers. My check out lady decided to take her time scanning items in an attempt not to bag. She spoke not a word but, unfortunately didn't do her work. Maybe , the manager was absent today? I don't know. Fortunately there are several other grocery choices in my area. I won't be shopping at Kroger. read more

This kroger store has the nicest employees I have ever been to. Not to mention the shelves are always stocked and the store is always clean. No matter what time I visit the store. Several times I was asked how I was doing and if there was anything they could help me with. In my opinion, customer service is great and I expressed it with the manager. Good job kroger! read more

I love this Kroger!!! All the staff are super nice and very helpful. I've been there all hours of the day and service is always the same. Awesome. The store has been great since the remodel and it's getting easier to find to stuff again. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend. They even had live music last week. Spent an hour and a half shopping only to find ourselves with a full cart and all checkout lanes closed except for unattended self service units that can't handle a full load of groceries. Now we get to do it all again tomorrow. And it won't be at Kroger. read more

Prices have went up tremendously with the new remodel. Chicken breast from the deli was 1.99/lb. with the remodel it's now 9.99/lb. What a joke! Even the ladies at the meat counter was confused on why 4 grilled chicken breast rang $19.48. Remodel design is trash. Customer service was trash. Couldn't find Schweppes sparkling water. Grapes were over priced. read more

I am so impressed with the help I received today, I didn't even unpack my groceries to come write this. I visited today because I have the flu. I walk everywhere I go, it is close but not to close. After I went to the clinic I picked up a few things to hunker down for a couple days for resting. Unbelievable, I forgot a bag!!! To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I called up there, they found my bag and said they would hold it. I called back and this wonderful person by the name of Pam answered, I explained that I am sick, I have the flu, and I cannot walk back up there to get the bag. Before I could tell her what I was going to propose, she said do you live close, I explained yes but not close enough for me to walk back being sick. She said, I will bring your bag to you!!!!!!!! I am flabbergasted, I am afraid to tell her company in case they get mad, but someone has to know....WOW, never have I been so impressed with someone's customer service skills as I am right now with Pam. read more
