Shelves always low. No help. Cashier missing in action, bakery always empty, every shelf, every item ! What is up with that???!!!

Such a disappointment. This store is newish. Went today and no body was working at the deli department. Slicers were covered, salads still covered like they were put to bed for the night. This was around 2 in the afternoon. You do have a beautiful deli that you advertise. Why doesn't anyone work there. Hello managers should know someone didn't show up for work. When someone is working they take your order and tell you to come back. I only need a pound of something. Do your job. I'll wait. I checked out at full service and three ladies were chatting over my groceries but nobody helped me put them in my cart. I have a disability and walk with a cane. I don't understand why this location has so many issues. The guest care station is never fully staffed and today they said they were closed until 12pm, then 4pm. I asked an employee in the self check out area if there was anyone to sell cigarettes and she said no and it wasn't possible to get anyone to do it. She had such an attitude when I was just asking questions. I even tried to call the store to ask the manager what was going on and it just kept ringing. I was literally inside the store hearing on the store speaker that there was a call. Obviously employees heard it but no one answered. So I ended up leaving. I can't even count the times I've had to leave because no one was there or wait time was over 15 minutes. The store seems to be constantly understaffed, employees seem miserable, and they don't have a processing machine for western union so employees have to manually input info which takes forever. What's going on here, Kroger? Has anyone from the district been to this location recently? It needs help. read more

Nothing like rushing to Kroger's at 5:00 hoping to buy some deli meat and cheese and finding the deli closed. If this was a one off it would be somewhat acceptable as guest, this has become standard practice for the Mercury Blvd. In Hampton, VA. When you ask the management they say they can't keep associates. I was taught if you can't keep folk there are only few reason why, Pay, treatment or conditions. I guessing it is all 3. The Kroger Corporation has been running on record profits but can't keep employees in their store. Management just does not seem to care about customers or service. Harris Teeter in Fox Hill does not have this problem, just ashame. read more

This review is for the Pharmacy and slow staff. The staff needs ample customer service training. Most are not friendly especially on the phone. I've been asked to hold on and after 15 minutes I'm hung up on. The people at the customer service desk are slow and don't really care about it. They have the attitude that if you can't wait, leave. I've had a pharmacy clerk close the drive through window as soon as I pulled up and would not open it when I called in. Her attitude was she didn't see me in the line so she thought the car ahead of me was her last. No way because she pulled the shade as soon as I pulled to the window. I wrote a review on 3/15/2025 about my experience I had at Kroger on Mercury Blvd in Hampton Va I went back to the store as I promised the other employees on 3/17/2025 to speak with the Store Manager I thought I was told his name was George but it is Charles Hannah for that I apologize I want to further apologize to Manger Keisha because in my earlier complaint I said I didn't think she would pass my complaint on to the store Manager but she did so when I arrived to the store Charles was aware of the incident that occured Charles greeted me with a welcoming smile which eased my dread about having to repeat this nonprofessional treatment we sat in a quiet area of the store I repeated what happened he listened patiently he did acknowledge that I was right about the price of the wine Charles apologize and told me he would look into the incident further and the goal of Kroger and him as a Store Manager is for every Customer to have a great shopping experience, with friendly,helpful,and professional service he acknowledged my concerns he was very professional and made me feel like he was really listening to my concerns I was determined not to ever shop at Kroger again when I got out of my car to go speak with Charles I just wanted him to know how his employees treated me but after speaking with him I believed he was sincere and really cares about the customers,his staff,and the Kroger brand maybe this was an isolated incident that happened to me but it should never happen again.Thank You Charles Hannah,Erica,and Devontae for outstanding customer service,caring and helpful attitude you all are Shining Stars I will continue to shop at Kroger because you all made me feel like I am a valued customer read more

Doing my shopping I see the fish department guys oogling over scantily clad shoppers. I see a lot of unpriced products. Products that are mislabeled that I eventually get jabbed for at the check out. I then get to go to customer service to fix this. The service there doesn't have servicing skills. So I try to return the items that they were labeled as sale items to find out the next day, customer service didn't return them. I spent my time and money in Hampton, and payed for that stuff, which I didn't get!!! Sound familiar people?? read more

I came here couple days ago because I was in the area and I needed to grab a few things before heading back on the other side of the water. This Krogers I think is new. Because they were fully stocked and it was super clean. Lol! And I don't remember a Krogers being in this area. But I'm not in the area that often. So probably they've been there for a couple months or a year. Even the outside of the building looks brand new. It was extremely busy too. It's right next to a gym, Starbucks, Red Lobster, and the mall. There was also plenty of parking spaces to park. I loveeee Krogers! Mainly because I feel there bags of shrimp are alot bigger than other grocery stores in the area. The price is a littleeee higher this year for it. But I really don't like tiny shrimp. Lol! So I'll just pay the extra cost. Also Krogers carries a niceeeee wine selection. And if your having a little get together you can always grab a couple cheap bottles of wine and put together a quick cheese and fruit broad. And with there awesome coupons. You can always get to save a couple of bucks. I can go on and on. But just check them out! You will not be disappointed! read more

Worst pharmacy in Hampton. Prescriptions are never ready on time. They closed the drive thru window, mostly have one pick up window open with a line long enough to make you go back home and come back the next day. On the app it wil show your RX in progress for a week or longer. They will only fill it when you stand in line and ask for your RX that should have been done a week ago. Then they tell you to come back to get your RX in a hour and wait in line again. This pharmacy is horrible. read more

I ordered a cake online for a birthday a few days ago. I go to the pick up lane to park and pick up order. As I look for my order number to inform them that I am there, I see that my order was cancelled less than 30 minutes of my pick up time. I was notified via email. I am upset that my order was cancelled but common courtesy should have allowed someone to at least give me a call due to the short notice. I did inform customer service and they were nice and helpful. read more

Pretty disappointed dealing wirh the cheesemonger or should I say lack there of. I wanted a slice from a wheel of cheese that had not been broken down yet. Of course nobody was there to help me. So I just continued to take care of the rest of my shopping. After 20 mins or so I came back, again no cheesemonger. So I left. However, Kate was great at the self checkout. Besides the spoiled rank ground beef, pork chops, and cheese balls expired, molded strawberries, I got last week I just went to make a salad and all the spring mixed greens are nasty, wet and going bad, If a manager like Shannon doesn't oversee what goes out on the shelves for customers what good is he. Every time I come here I leave with an attitude the employees are so rude and will literally laugh at you for asking for help or for them to do their job. Every time I come here and go to deli section I am ignored, the couple of times I was able to get some service they are very rude and short. I've been shopping here dang near every other day for 2 years. No the employees aren't super friendly but get over yourself their mostly kids getting paid minimum wage. NO THEY DONT WANT TO GREET YOU KARENS. But anytime I've needed help I've gotten helped. The store as a whole is solid and they sell food that is fresh.. they do have 2 big flaws tho the pharmacy is probably the worst I've ever been to and the bakery is trash. Oh God...I've stood in the seafood line for 20 min. waiting, 3rd in line, to get service. Younger looking African-American male with glasses and a hat on. He seems so unmotivated and he talks so low and slow that you can barely hear him. Shouldn't have to wait this long for seafood or any food! read more

Let me just say that as far as food quality goes, I have no complaint. We ordered a large amount of fried chicken for an event and everyone agreed it was delicious. My complaint is this: I had to pay for it twice. When I realized I could not pay online for an online order, I went directly to the store where the young man at the deli counter was very polite. He verified my order (approximately $90) and gave me the invoice in triplicate, instructing me to pay at the regular cashier line. I did this, and the woman who took my payment assured me that all was now well. I assumed she had direct communication with the deli and that she must have scanned the invoice, so payment would directly show up for the deli. The reason I assumed this was because I asked her "What next?" and she said, "Nothing, just pick up your food at the scheduled time!" Having had received a confirmation email for the order, I believed there to be no problem. However on the day of the event, my son-in-law went to the Kroger deli with the invoice-in-triplicate mentioned earlier, and they said the order had been cancelled because I didn't pay. They said they had PROOF it hadn't been paid because the cashier would have removed one of the three copies of the invoice and given it back to them. With hungry guests waiting, I had no choice but to make a new order and wait 25 minutes for it to be filled, AND, of course pay again. I'm still upset about this, but I don't know what else I can do. I have the bank record which shows both purchases at Kroger, but of course doesn't say what it is for, so that is no help. From now on, I will always ask for receipts to be emailed or texted to me if that pops up for an option. read more

This Kroger is a joke. I have shopped at Kroger for past 11 years and this will be last trip to Kroger. When I lived in Petersburg, I shopped at Kroger in Chester and never had any serious problems with Kroger pickup. A few times they were out of items but always substituted or gave me credit. I have made several trips to the Hampton location -- ordering online and then picking up. They have yet to get any of my orders correct. They overcharge by substituting items and not applying the coupons. They substitute an inferior Kroger store brand item for a brand name item and charge the same price as the brand name item. The were out of every lunch meat and deli item I ordered. How are you out of an entire selection of Oscar Meyer meats. That's what the girl said when I picked up my order - they were out of all Oscar Meyer products. They also did not have any beef hotdogs to substitute for Hebrew National. It took me three times of picking up an order to finally learn my lesson. Not worth the hassle. Will use Food Lion or Walmart pickup from now on. They seem to know what they are doing. read more

Do not shop here unless you want to be treated like a thief. They spend so much money on flawed technology monitoring you and falsely flagging you as a criminal that they are driving honest customers away. I don't steal. If you bring your own bags you are flagged as a thief every time you place an item in your bag. Even after the associate overrides the false flags multiple times and you pay for your items, they still flag you as a thief and lock the cart wheels at the front door. When you go back in the store to ask why and for the wheels to be unlocked the associates act like you are bothering them and tell you to just put all your groceries in another cart. Now you have to either drag a cart full of groceries across the parking lot in a cart with locked wheels or move all your bags to another cart. This, after spending over an hour in the store and hundreds of dollars. Today, I felt like returning everything I bought. I pay more to shop at Kroger to avoid foolishness like this. If this is the service I will receive at Kroger, I might as well shop at Walmart and save money. read more

I was a long time Walgreens customer, switched all my prescription to kroger a few years ago out of frustration with Walgreens. I recently considered switching to CVS, and made the attempt but my doctor accidentally sent to Kroger again. Thr reason was due to kroger not filling the prescription and me having to go in and say I need them after they were supposed to be filled, and never were. That required sitting there for 30 minutes to an hour each time I need to pick up, it gets very old to say the least. Last week I noticed one of my prescription bottles getting low and due to issues in the past I try to be on top of requesting refills, the kroger app said they(2) were eligible for refill on 3/19, so on 3/19 I requested the two be ready on 3/20. As usual I got no notification they were ready and stopped by on 3/21 about 430, was told they were not ready and I waited as usual, for 45 minutes only to be told the pharmacist would not fill one due to it being 26 days since the last refill and I would need to wait until at least 28 days. So now your running me down until the last 2 days of my prescription. The Kroger app accepted the 2 refills, they were on the same last filled date. I'm quite sure the insurance covered the refill on that date, so now I will need to sit one again at the pharmacy for 30-60 minutes tomorrow because as history shows they will not fill it until I go in and ask. This is unprofessional. I will be switching pharmacies again read more
