After my less than stellar experience in Denison, I was reluctant to try visiting a Kroger's again. But before we moved out here, all my friends just raved about their Kroger's stores and how great their service was. I REALLY needed to buy food, a lot of food, like "we have to fill up the entire empty kitchen because we just moved 1,800 miles" amount of food. I knew it was going to be a long adventure and I had a feeling it was going to be expensive. But I headed off to the Kroger's in Sherman to give the chain another shot. Oh my, the difference is like night and day. Mind you, I went in at night...when everyone is tired after a long day and they are stocking like crazy. I've never gotten such great service. All of my random requests like "excuse me do you carry vital wheat gluten" to "where in the world would I find sesame oil" was met with a smile, the store employee stopped what they were doing and helped me find the item. I know I spent over two hours in that store and my cart was over flowing by the time I made it to the front. A wonderful gentleman checked me out. He was friendly, welcoming and really made me feel like I mattered as a customer. Then, he called up someone to help me take out my two carts of groceries. A very nice young man who helped me load my van and then took the carts back. And I restocked an entire, literally empty kitchen with ALL of the basics (from spices to meat) to cook real food for just under $400. I was incredibly pleased with the sale prices they had and took the opportunity to really stock up on things like flour, spices and other baking goods. This Krogers will have my business as long as we live nearby. read more

Ordered delivery, no substitution 1- they were out of Prime Rib and their systems doesn't allow substitution yet when I specifically asked for branded items they made random selections to deliver to my house charging me the delivery fee for this mess 2- I had no meat for my dinner party so I now had to drive over to pick another meat and while there took random substitutions to customer service, so much for delivery fee to save me time 3- Customer Service was on a restroom break. I waited 15 minutes for them and they were a no-show. I had to get my meat and return home to start preparations. Left myreturns on the counter and left! 10$ fee for delivery 10$ items left on counter What is the fee for driving to your store for correction? Don't do delivery, you'll just have to drive over and fix it, that's if someone is working in customer service read more

Was shopping today and the donut case in the bakery doesn't have any locks or require help getting donuts, so this kid goes over and opens the door, starts picking up and looking at the donuts and gets one out and starts eating eat. His mom didn't say a word. I didn't see a sign that said free, take one. read more

1st time this Unexceptable Behavior has happened to me at the Kroger Grocery store located in Sherman, Texas. Went there to return 5 outdated items inside the customer service counter. Spoke to a Lady Named Miss "Stephanie" I presented my receipts to her and she said we're not taking these items back. I Responded and stated no problem I'll deal directly with Corporate Office. So I phoned the Corporate office and spoke to a very nice lady and she politely refunded my Credit Store credit on next shopping trip. Miss Stephanie needs to change her Aditude in the future for the next regular customer's. Just My opinion. She's not a good fit for the Kroger Grocery store. Especially when a customer has receipts to prove outdated items being returned. read more

Really nice employees at checkout. The store is clean with many choices to choose from. I came for the deli meat. The hard salami cut shaved is mouthwatering! And the London Broil is more than delicious. Also the Munster Cheese and Coby Jack Cheese really good!!!!! The only negative is the high price of the meat. Kroger's in Sherman Tx -wow seriously where is the health departmen? the meat section reeks the smell is disguising. it's obvious the refrigerator has not been cleaned the paint is peeling from the sides. My brother had a stroke, is in the ICU in another state. My doctor called the pharmacist here to make sure they had my meds in stock before he sent the prescription. I arrive to pick up, and the lady ringing asked for my last name & birthday, and she said "ohhh we don't have you in the system, are you sure this is the right store?" Yes, and another tech came to help her out. Then as I'm about to leave I go back and say "here's my drug card, I want to give it to you now so you don't have to re-ring thinking I'm helping the lady out. So I go to check out and the other lady sez "do you have a prescription card? It's gonna be like $700." Me: SMH Next: Yes, picking up a prescription. Her: You need to have your doctor call and allow us to release this because it's too early to refill". Me: "My doctor called to make sure it was in stock, my brother has had a stroke, he's in the ICU 6 hours away." Her: (something else unintelligible, ignorant and unhelpful). Now they could call the doctor and ask him, that's what a good pharmacist would do, but it's a power struggle between these ppl and it's easy to see this low IQ poor thing is incapable of making a good decision. Don't shop there. Update: so the doctor calls them and says it's okay to refill it, and then he calls me to say he's authorized it, and I go back over there to get it and they haven't started filling it yet. If I lived here I'd drive to Ft Worth not to have to use them, they're the worst I've ever seen by a wide margin, the girl at the window has a particularly unnecessary disposition, I think she'd do well to get a job catching rattlesnakes. read more

We've shopped at the Kroger in Sherman for 5 years and been relatively satisfied with them, but no more. Generally there is only one attendant checking out groceries and all of the "you scan" machines constantly malfunction. The experience checking out at this store is EXTREMELY frustrating. We are now going to try shopping elsewhere. read more

Enjoyed shopping at Kroger's use to shop there until I moved to FL. So when I'm around stop inside the store. Currently practice all safety measures. Most employees were friendly, dissatisfied with the cashier that waited until we approached the register then quickly shut off her light & waited until we asked if she had closed forcing us to use self checkout. The self checkout person over all the self check out registers was very nice & apologized for the rudeness of the other cashier. read more

The Kroger in Sherman is an awful store. It's dirty and old. The m as nager Brian is very rude. I was in there when someone walked by a lady's cart and took her photo. The lady started yelling and the person gave it back. Lots of homeless hanging around. This store needs updating and new management. Haven't seen anything good except when they have a sale. Shop at Walmart, Albertsons or anywhere else. I'll be going to another Kroger if I want something they have on sale. read more

The Denison, TX Kroger closed a few months ago and my mom wanted to go to Sherman because we always went to Kroger and had not been in awhile since the closest store closed and we live in Oklahoma. So today I took her to this store and I certainly wished that I had not and never will again. The store was so messy that you couldn't even get to anything to look and the associates that had the isles blocked didn't care and wouldn't move or apologize. Then we get ready to use self check out, which I know all about very well, as I've been a retail manager for 25 years. However this Kroger has self checkouts from the Flintstone years. The thing started telling me to put everything back in the bagging area, even though I have it sufficient time to weigh each item. I asked the lady watching the registers why it was doing it and she said was the rudest person I've ever met and continued to blame me for not doing it right. Another associate walked up to talk to her and she whispered to them, that's they'd have to wait, that she had to keep an eye on me, as If I were stealing something. First of all I don't need to steal, I can buy whatever I need. My disabled mom got upset as we just lost my Dad and this crappy attitude this lady had made her worse. I said they need to upgrade this crap like Walmart and other stores and he said that's probably why Walmart is on Facebook with theft everyday. Honey Walmart has billions of more dollars and millions more customers than this Kroger. I can only assume that this Kroger has very poor management due to the looks of this store and the attitude of its employees. After having this lady act like I was gonna steal from them and upsetting my mom, I will be making sore the corporate office hears all this as well. And I don't care if they give everything in the store away for free, I will never step foot in this store again. I will pay double at Albertsons and wait in lines 30 minutes long at Walmart before this Kroger gets a penny from me. And I've been a dedicated Kroger customer for almost 35 years. This place gets worse by the day. First off the deli. Always under staffed and dirty as hell. Then when you finally get an employee. They are filthy. Their clothes so soiled it's disgusting. Weekly specials and sale prices are a bargain. They stock a decent selection of (overpriced) organic foods. The building and layout are dated and contain smallish aisles, but it's clean and well lit. With that being said, I haven't run into a more rude set of check-out employees in my life. It's a hassle to use the self-checkout lines and the ones that do work are incredibly slow. Steer clear and head over to Green Market or Albertson's for your organic products! read more

Don't buy the Kroger's spinach dip.It tastes nasty as Hell and it's Hell getting heartburn and having your throat burn afterwards.For the most part, it's a great store but nasty dip. read more

Why is it that every community in Texas has the newer, more modern Kroger grocery store, while here in Sherman, we get a super sized 7-11 masquerading as a Kroger grocery store. No room for any new products, such as Pepsi With Real Sugar in bottles, sizes of 8 oz and 20 oz. The Pepsi With Real Sugar can not last a day on the shelves in the Smith's(Kroger), Fry's(Kroger), or Ralph's(Kroger) in Nevada, Arizona and California. People do not like the taste of cans. They used to stock the 8 oz, but quit at this Kroger. Now if I am outside Sherman, i.e., DFW, I empty the shelves by the checkout lanes mini fridges of the Real Sugar Pepsi, which they stock in 20 oz bottles. I have to order cases of this Pepsi at the Quick Trips around this Kroger. WE WANT PEPSI WITH REAL SUGAR IN 8 OZ OR 20 OZ BOTTLES, NOT CANS!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Kroger Pharmacy is terrible. Not one time in over year have they met the promised pick-up date for my prescriptions. Most of the time the pharmacy does not even start to work on the prescription until after I attempt pick-up at the pharmacy. The most recent issue, on Thursday June 3, the pharmacies web site showed one of my auto refill prescriptions showed my refill in progress and would be ready by 12 PM on Monday June 7th. I went to the Pharmacy at 8 PM on Monday and my medications were not ready. At first the Pharmacy Tech tried to play it off like I was trying to pickup to early until I showed her a screen shot of the original promised by date. She then went over to the Pharmacist and told me they were out of my medication. I asked how often do they order it since my prescription had been in process for 4 days. I was told Humalog is ordered daily, so my next question was "if it is ordered and delivered daily, then why after 4 days did they still not have my prescription. This question was met with indifference and I was told it should be ready tomorrow but to call first. I will be completely out of insulin for my insulin pump in a few days. I have followed all the processes that the Pharmacy request on refills, yet Kroger in Sherman is to incompetent to fulfill my prescription. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This has got to be the worst Kroger I've shopped at (apart from Denison). The produce department is small, and the produce rarely appears fresh with very little selection in organics. The meat department is not well stocked. They are usually out of the ground beef that I like (Laura's 92/8), and as of my last grocery trip have quit carrying their brand of ground turkey breast which was about $3/lb cheaper than the Jennie-o they still carry. The layout of the store is strange with strange combinations of things on the aisles. Kroger advertises the weekly "Free Friday Downloads," but this store rarely has the item until a week or two after the download and when it's long gone from my memory. There are probably 5 total employees in the store that are friendly; most of them seem like they are being inconvenienced by the customers. Customer-service is at or below a Walmart-level low at this Kroger. I can say one positive thing, though, the checkout is always fast. Even when the lines are long, they promptly open more lanes and you don't spend long in line. You are quite lucky to have a grocery bagger, and I've never been offered a carry out. As a matter of fact, I left with 2 buggies one day and had to ask the bagger to help me with one of them. I came to Sherman from a small town, and the Kroger there was 100% better. It was cleaner, newly remodeled, had mostly friendly employees, and good customer service. Honestly the only thing that keeps me coming back is the fact that the other supermarket (just down the road and closer to my house) is exorbitantly expensive. read more
