ALDI - Produce! - Grocery Near Me - Sherman, Texas

So this place was nice when it first opened and my family has been steady customers, but they are so understaffed for the stocking, checking out, and dang mobile order stuff and it shows! I will likely start using a different location unfortunately.... You can tell the employees are having to literally run to get everything done and they are getting worse and worse on customer service, literally yelling which line they want you in and seeming annoyed if you have a buggy of groceries... I have crazy hours and don't live in town so we buy 2wks groceries at a time(one buggy full) and on more than one trip comments have been made on how much we were checking out... #1 I'm spending money keeping you a job so your welcome, and #2 if everything didn't come in boxes 3 times bigger than the product to make it look like you were getting more my buggy wouldn't be so full. This is by far the WORST ALDIS I have ever been to. I'm rushing through there since it's getting ready to close but NOTHING IS STOCKED so I'm having to dig through the boxes to find what we are looking for. And a man literally yells at me WE ARE CLOSED. I said ok I'm almost done he proceeded to tell my daughter that he wasn't going to check us out. He was so extremely rude to everyone. placed an online order for delivery. couldnt deliver because "not enough" delivery people showed up to work-they went ahead and charged my card. I changed it to pick up and they kept changing the pick up times and I was unable to pick up at the available times due to work hours so I just cancelled the order. told me it would be 5-7 days to refund. it's been a month later and they are disputing my refund! terrible! read more

I love Aldi, and this location is the closest to my home. I wish there were an Aldi in Gainesville. I would rather make multiple trips to Aldi per week that have to go to the bug box store to find semi-decent prices on groceries. One would think that a location on I-35 30 miles north of Denton would be a priority, especially since so many Oklahomans make such a long drive for high quality products. read more

worst Aldi I have ever been to. While we were walking around, we noticed tons of cardboard thrown about the entire store. one aisle was completely blocked by cardboard/ trash, and we could not go down it. the workers were also incredibly rude, and one walked right in front of us while we were walking, and almost ran into us. I like this store. They don't have a lot of name brands, but their produce is fresh and they have lots of German chocolates and coffee. The aisles are stacked full of products using the crates they were shipped in. There are no shelves. There isn't a meat market, pharmacy, or vitamin section. If you take the time and browse every aisle, I'm sure you'll find something good. I found cans of 3 bean salad for 0.99 cents. I cannot even find these in Walmart anymore. My only complaint is that the store is too cramped. The first aisle is so crowded full of customers (who literally stand there and don't move like ignorant cattle) that it's hard to navigate through them. The store is clean, and the employees are super nice. They even let their cashiers sit in chairs. I'm kinda jealous because I spent my four years of college working odd jobs, and we never got a chair unless you had a back problem, and brought a doctor's note. Just FYI the bags they give you are reusable and they cost money. I don't know how much because I bring in my own cloth bags. You do have to pay a quarter to unlock the carts out front but that prevents them from being stolen, and causing vehicle damage in the parking lot. When you bring your cart back, it refunds you your quarter back. They only accept cash and debit cards. No credit cards. I bought: chocolates, cucumbers, crackers, canned food, 3 cans of Arizona tea, and some TV dinners all for about $11. Totally worth it. Next time I'll be going about an hour and thirty minutes before they close to avoid the ridiculous crowds. read more

Numerous times I have gone to this store and found an item which is on sale is out of stock. Also, I have made a special trip to the store for a non-grocery item which is advertised in the circular only to find they never got the item in. They don't do rain checks, of course. This is a great store! I've been to a couple of Aldi-stores down in DFW but neither one of them were any good - this store in Sherman however is GREAT! It's clean, everything's in order, they have LOTs of items, the produce is really good (better than the local stores GreenMarket or Kroeger) and the prices...well you can't beat Aldi's prices (at least not with the same kind of quality). For chocolate lovers - they've got a big selection of really good chocolate (and it's the best to use in baking :-D) at knock-down prices. Don't forget to do as any European would do, bring a quarter for your shopping cart and (reusable) bags for your groceries. :-) read more

Love it. The grocery stores in Europe use the same quarter basket system! Keeping it simple impacts many parts of this experience. I love gifting my basket to a shopper coming in as I am leaving. An RAK for a quarter. Their produce, milk , egg, butter, Appleton sausage and bacon would make it more than worth the extra stop. I compared our family usage to pricing there and at Walmart and discovered a 1260. Dollar a year savings and I discovered the Aunt Maples products like pancake mix 1.19 is hard to beat taste wise and the other aunt maples products I have tried are really good. In Europe people pay for their bags or bring them too. We love the Belmont frozen berry berry pie the apple is good too. Huge fresh pie ready to bake 4.99. Can't beat it. I know this type of store is not for everyone. But I love it. As I take a bite of my huge red delicious apple -49 cents a pound. read more

I'm not fond of this store at all. It is crowded, like other reviewers have said. Everything is generic. I do buy mostly store brands, but there are some things I won't budge on. I have noticed that some things are radically cheaper than other stores, but there is also a difference in size. For instance, canned green beans at Kroger are around 70 cents per can; at Aldi they are around 30 cents per can. However, after purchasing some I noticed that there is less product in the Aldi can. Also, all of the produce is sold pre-packaged, so you have to buy the amount they have packaged. I found with the quantities I buy (I'm single) it's more expensive there because I have to pay for 3-4 pieces compared to 1-2 at a conventional store. They meat is all packaged and expensive. Their dairy cooler has an odor to it, so I can't attest to the freshness of their dairy products; I wouldn't buy any after I smelled the odor. One positive, as another reviewer noted, they have really good German candies. The couple of times I have been there has been a long line and only one register opened. I take cloth bags to the store with me, but if I didn't, I would take exception to being charged for bags (yes they charge you for bags). Also, they just put all of your stuff back into a buggy, and you have to take it to a table and bag it yourself. Finally, charging for the buggy is absurd, in my opinion. If you take the cart back to the store you get your quarter back, but I generally don't bother. read more
