To Brookshires HQ. I'm going to always shop at your store but what would make me feel better is advertising your expiration date over the egg counter. The eggs that I bought that were brown and hairy inside expired in July. This is September 30 and I don't keep eggs that long because we eat them often but now not for a while... I'm nervous about cracking one. We will not buy more than one package at a time now and will always check for an expiration date. read more

Is it just me but it seems like every week on their ads when you go to get what's on sale they don't have it every time I go up there for something that's on sale. I never have it. It's a waste of time gas and frustration. My family and I are visiting from out of town and needed groceries so we came to this location. Would not recommend. 1st, this place is ridiculously overpriced. Walmart and Target are not that far away, so go there instead for a less hefty grocery bill. The prices listed on the shelves is not the same as the price that got rung up at the register. When I looked at my bill none of the things that were "on sale" rang up that way. Either change your signs or update your system. 2nd, the self checkout area is immensely frustrating. I bring my own bags, try to use less waste that way. I can only put 3 of my own bags on the bag area at a time, so when I remove a bag and put my 4th bag on the bag area the computer says "unknown object in bagging area" so I can't ring up any more items. So I take the 4th bag off and set it on the floor instead, but then the computer pops up another message that says item not bagged. It was very annoying and I've never had so many problem bagging my own groceries as I did with your system today. 3rd, the cherry on top of my experience was when I walked out to my car. I opened the back as my kids were climbing in and this employee comes up and grabs my grocery cart while I'm unloading my groceries. No hello, no can I help you with your groceries, this creepy man just stood there staring at my children as they got in my car and I loaded up my bags making me extremely uncomfortable, then took the cart to put it up (which I could do myself without the awkward encounter) and mumbled something I couldn't understand. It was weird for him to hover around my cart and car just waiting for me to be done. It was even more inappropriate for him to be staring at my 3 and 5 year olds like he was preparing to grab them at any moment, putting me on edge. Will not return here, I'll drive the extra 10-15 minutes to Walmart or Target when we visit from now on. read more

Purchased 5 piece fried chicken from deli and did not realize I was overcharged until the next day. Called and spoke with store manager named Brandi and told her I was charged $26.97 for 5 piece dark (2 legs and 3 thighs!) Brandi said she was unable to refund the difference because of "loss prevention." She offered to give me corporate number, but no apology even. I have receipt with all available information including item, price, and invoice number. Terrible customer service read more

Very nice store, clean, workers were helpful. I looked at some of the other review... I don't know how they experienced that, every one seemed quite nice to me. One person commented on the prices, there is a discount/loyalty card. I asked the young lady at the register and she said she could enter a store one and it took $7 off the bill. read more

Brookshires at one time was all about the customer service but not so much any more. They went from helping you out with your groceries to putting in a cart return place in the parking lot. Went there for the first day of a 3dsy sale already out of the hamburger and chicken. Went to the front to ask if there was any more was asked by a person behind the service counter if there was any more. She told us it is hard to get managers to help. Finally some one asked us to help and told us there will be a truck in the morning. Why if you're having a big 3 day sale order for it. They have a self checkout which is more not user friendly not once has it had zero issues. I hate having to drive 7 miles to a Walmart when this is about a mile away. The company has got away from rain checks. And only does the senior discount down to just 1 or 2 days. read more

FINALLY a decent place for groceries in the Pottsboro area. No more Walmart for this gal, no sirree! Not only is the property new and clean, but the employees are super-friendly and helpful. The products fresh and fully-stocked. We're even lunching on made-to-order sandwiches from the deli. And don't forget to sign up for their Thank You Card... earn discounts off of products and gas with the points you build up from grocery shopping. It's a win-win! read more

Good selection, good meat selection, prices seem a little high overall but a nice full scale grocery store close to Lake Texoma.

Went on Wednesday night to get a few items one of the items was a strawberry cream cheese dip I did not notice but after eating it I noticed the exp date was just shy of 2 months past date. Was sick late that night. Was not first time I have found out of date items for sale. The dairy dept is clearly not getting rotated correct when you can see milk on front row with ad many as 3 different dates. The level of care has gone down a lot. read more

First let me say, I am SO HAPPY to have a real grocery store in Pottsboro instead of just the closest Walmart. And I want to love this Brookshires, but I have just experienced my second annoyance in 6mos having to do with how they police freshness and food safety. The first episode had to do with WAY expired eggs. Now, I buy a packaged veggie item (for $4.99!), bring it home, and discover when looking at the receipt that there is a warning I "may have purchased " a food item recalled due to LISTERIA found in packaging within that timeframe. Urges consumer to discard or return for refund. Obviously, as the item was scanned at the cash register the warning was triggered. Now my question is, WHY DIDN'T THEY PULL THESE ITEMS FROM THE SHELVES IN THE FIRST PLACE????? You can be sure they were similarly scanned as inventory at some point before being stocked on store shelves. Instead, they put the risk on the shoulders of the consumer and require them to actually read their receipt, which does not happen in at least 90% of the time for most people. I happened to this time because I was looking for gas points info. Even then, the warning was in another part of the receipt and I could very easily have missed it and consumed this item. I will be returning to store, a hassle that could have been prevented, but hey, at least I'm not going to the local ER! BROOKSHIRES, you need to do better! read more

Very, very friendly staff at this Brookshires!! It's about time Texoma gets a decent grocery store!! The bakery staff is terrific and their cakes and cupcakes are GORGEOUS and YUMMY!!
