I usually like to shop at Kroger, when I am out for a week or two you change things around in the store and I can't find them. I am kind of short and I can't get the items off top shelves. I got a call from someone who identifies themselves as someone from Kroger who had a promotion for Tupperware items. I paid the shipping fee but I have not received my Tupperware yet. Today while on the west side of the county I bought a 4 pack of Munster Energy drinks at the Kroger's on Ga. 20. I arrive home, inside the city limits of Covington and while in the process of putting the remaining cans of the drinks in the fridge I discover that one has a pin hole and is not a full can. I go to my local Kroger (Hwy 278) customer care desk receipt in hand with the unopened can with an obvious leak when turned on its side and I am told that I would have to go back to the store of purchase because they cannot replace a can from their store. Say What? You guys are about to lose a loyal customer over what amounts to $2.12 ($8.49 for 4 cost incld. tax). The only recourse offered me was to return to the Ga. 20 store. read more

This is the absolute worst Kroger that I've even been to. NOTHING is ever stocked. EVER!! It's unreal. It appears to me that management staff does not know how to manage the store because there's no reason they should continuously be out of stock of items week after week. They'll have a shelf full of items that no one is buying. I've spoken to several workers and they all have the same response that the items that's sitting are items that no one is really purchasing. Seriously, when does common sense kick in?? As much as I highly dislike Publix expensive prices, it's usually worth it to get needed items. read more

I'm not writing about the store itself. Ample parking, welcoming customer service and plenty of selections. However during this visit there was a scarce amount of items since Georgia had a mini blizzard. Yesterday I was trying to register my Kroger Plus card but it was a fail. Tried about six time trying to register but I couldn't do it without some assistance. I called and the phone rang three times. I cannot remember the woman's name who answered first, but I proceeded with my usual spill of introductions. "Hello I'm a blank and I am having an issue with my plus card. I am unable to register it. What do I need to do, or can you further assist me?" The lady had he audacity to just forward my call to Julia. And let me tell you about Ms. Rudy. "Thank you for calling Kroger, my name is Julia how may I help you?" I repeated my spill again and the Julia became who she really is. I told her my issue and she responded, "put the number in". " well I don't know what to tell you." The she began talking to me as if I was a third grader trying to order a pizza. I had to let her know that everything she was telling me was not working and that I didn't appreciate her talking to me in that manner along with a few other words. A few hours laters I went to the store and everything was completely different. Everyone was attentive, the managers were helping everyone that passed them. This place is great if you're nostalgic for 1980s Russia: long lines and empty shelves. Every week there are a ton of items they're out of, and you're lucky if they have more than two cashiers. And it was like that way before COVID, so I don't know what their excuse is. Most other Krogers are great, so I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the management at this location. read more

Dante's Hell would be a better experience than shopping at this Kroger. It's old, dirty, and cramped. It never fails that when I load up on digital and physical coupons the items are out of stock, sometimes for weeks. Apparently then only canned goods available now are turnip greens and corn. I haven't seen Italian cut green beans, squash, rutabagas, and other vegetables the last three visits. Their ethnic food selection is a joke unless you're looking for Latin ingredients. The produce selection is equally crappy. The meat department is severely lacking in choices and most fresh meat looks as if a toddler cut and packaged the steaks and pork chops. Every aisle is crowded with product displays that force you to either wait for some slow moving jackass or turn around. A lot of the staff seem to have a chip on their shoulder and are generally displeased. I refuse to use self checkout and rarely is there more than one cashier lane open. Most times I end up bagging my own groceries because everyone is conveniently on break. The Loganville location is far superior and its only five more miles from my house. I recommend you go to either Ingle's or the Publix on Brown Bridge. read more

Small and cramped. Selection could be better. The Covington Kroger is undergoing a much-needed renovation, which is nice, but it is still quite small and crowded. I actually prefer shopping at the Kroger in Loganville, which is further away but has a much better selection and it twice the size of the Covington store. read more

Always out of stuff. The same stuff. Rotten fruit. Flies all around deli and dead ones on cheese dip. Nothing is stocked and bad customer service. I bought 40 in filets. They were terrible. Gave them to dog. So much fat. Filets r not suppose to have fat. read more

This is my hometown Kroger store. I've shopped at this store for years. It's been a staple in our community for the last 40 years and I could work in this store I know it's layout so well. I have my weekly shopping routine planned out and I know exactly where I need to go. The people who run this store are super friendly. I know all the deli/bakery staff by name and a few of the cashiers I know as well. It's a wonderful Kroger store. read more

I've lived in Covington for 6 years now and this store gets worse by the day. Unfortunately, it's 2 minutes from my house, which is the only reason I started going there in the first place. The parking lot is a shit show. It doesn't matter what day you shop, the shelves are empty. How does a grocery store not have celery every time I go there? Or eggs? Or buns? The produce section is a joke. The meat and fish department always smell horrific. They try and mask it with bleach but it doesn't work. Last month it smell of Raid. Not kidding. The main aisles are crowded with giant boxes they fill with crap they are trying to eliminate so there is no room to pass by. You can barely get a cart through. Yesterday, after I got home, I checked my receipt to find the chicken wasn't buy one get one. I got charged for both and the bagels were also not buy one get one. I seriously dread going there to begin with so the last thing I wanted to do was make a return trip for a refund. Their payment machine never wants to accept my debit card. I HATE shopping there with a passion. I wish I had another option. I will say the staff is incredibly nice and there is a Goodwill in the plaza. Those are the only two positives about this Kroger. I just moved to Covington 3 weeks ago and have shopped at Kroger in Newton Plaza each week. I don't understand why they never have more then 1 checkout open. It is so frustrating I was in line for 20 minutes before they opened a second checkout. I only moved 18 miles from Loganville to Covington and I decided to drive to Loganville to do my shopping much newer store and better customer service. The worst Kroger I have ever entered. Small & cramped!!! Too small for two buggies to even fit down the same aisle. Also the parking is crazy - s cramped and hard to get in and out of!
