5 stars for their build your own beer section. I live in Alabama and like to take as many local beers back home with me as I can. This Kroger had the best selection I've ever seen. I was able to get 36 unique beer singles to take home with me. Beer section was perfectly organized and so much selection. The other aisles seemed to be clean and the indoor decor and presentation was one of the better for a grocery I've seen. Great spot read more

Selection is still a constant issue, but most everything else, from cart quality, to checkout, to pickup has improved. Still astounding that a Kroger this size has a fraction of the selection of the tiny grocery stores around. Kroger corporate needs to step up their game. This store is enormous and yet has nothing in it. I needed a few very specific things. They didn't have any of them. I needed one large shallot. They had tiny little baby shallots. I needed pre-caramelized onion; frozen or jarred. They didn't have it. I needed suet for a tenderloin recipe. Guess what. They didn't have it despite a huge butcher aisle. I wanted 1 pomegranate. None! Are these semi specialty items? Yes. However, this store is the size of a football field and yet they don't have anything but the most basic produce and meats. Do they have their junk in abundance? Sure. But you have to walk 2 miles to find out they don't have anything that you want! I blame the corporate buttheads that decide that what they want to deliver to the public is enough. I had long avoided this Kroger, despite frequenting the Town Center because it seemed to be crazy busy at all times of day. My neighbor kept telling me that during the pandemic this location was safer than most. I had mostly been doing pickup only, but after getting the vaccine started to venture back into stores. I wanted to go inside to check out the new Dope Asian Street fare among other things that were added after their big remodel. I decided to combine this with a weekly grocery shopping. The minute I walked in I was impressed. Immediately to the right is one of the larger floral sections I have seen in a Kroger. In front of that is a vast produce section. They had drinks from Suja that I had been seeking out for sometime that no other location had. They also had a nice section from 80 Acres farms (hydroponics). Other notable special features include Dope, Saladworks, and Sushi walk up restaurants. There is a special kiosk for freshly popped pop corn. There is a sit down bar with many wines and beers for sampling. They even do special events and live music in this area! The bartender was very nice! The store was clean, the employees were friendly, and I found everything I needed and then some. There are many more options of varieties and flavors for each brand at this store. There is a nice combo of self check out and manned check out stations. Dont forget to recycle your plastic bags at the front of the store. There is even a nice Cincinnati mural that also gives a nod to the Anderson Area! The garden selection outside and seasonal inside is a bit small in comparison. read more

Their pickup service is horrendous. I was sitting in the line for 45mins and I hadn't moved an inch. The line was wrapped around the corner and in to the street and all the told me was that they are aware of the situation and they can offer a refund. They took my name down and that's it. THERE WERE 7 PEOPLE JUST STANDING THERE. NOT DOING ANYTHING. TERRIBLE. read more

Waiting in a pickup line for an hour and twenty minutes before someone came to talk to me to tell me my order that was supposed to be picked up from 6-7 that was pushed back to 7-8 still isn't ready at 8:20 and that I'd have to cancel or pickup tomorrow. This is exactly why I placed my order for pickup, I didn't want to have to spend hours getting my own groceries. I understand that it is not the workers fault but it is the managers fault and with this situation it's clear they're over working their employees, not staffing properly or allowing too many orders to come in. Our household researches and uses many coupons to purchase groceries and paper products. Yesterday, Fatima must not have been having a good day. We didn't purchase much, but had SEVEN coupons. Three of which were for a dollar amount off, 4 were the "up to a certain amount " off the purchase price. I wrote the price on each of those coupons directly from the shelf tag so there would be no need to look it up. Kaden, the cashier, was confused on what to do with the "up to" ones. I explained the process to him. Fatima had the scan for coupons over 4.99. Instead of giving the scan to an associate to bring down to the register, she "very heavily walked" down to scan 1 coupon and said " management says only 3 free coupons per household per day." I'm thinking she made that up since no one else seemed to know about it. They were also arguing that the "dollar off" coupons counted in that 3 free per day total. (Tge price of each item well exceeded the coupon value) A transaction that should have taken 10 minutes tops took 25. The guy behind us was snorting his disapproval the whole time. Kroger continues to make massive profits, but I'm the bad guy for trying to reasonably get groceries. Seriously Kroger, do better!!!! read more

I understand why this location is only three stars. Upon first entering everything looks very nice. Having additional businesses is ver alluring. Everything starts off well. I was very hopeful this location would be one I could go to for "one and done" sort of trip. I have shopped at this location several times. Everytime I come here I leave with less than a full order. That usually means I have to travel elsewhere to obtain enough groceries for the week. Customer service is lacking. Don't get me wrong, I haven't had anyone be overtly rude. Most employees just aren't friendly; more indifferent to customers. There has only been one cashier who has delivered true customer service. For the most part, this is a store I will be reserving for when I only need to run in at the last minute for one or two items. read more

7/17/22. For a week now the Kroger fuel is a total disaster. They are forcing most if not all stations to pay at the window. This is causing mass delays and lines that are unnecessary. They require you to choose an amount of gas in advance vs filling up. The line is so long you feel rude holding up the line to use your points. I wont return here again. I'd rather pay more to have a more speedy experience. Last week I waited 20 minutes and still didn't get to a pump due to the pay line taking so long. Total disaster. read more

Shopping inside this store for myself is fine. Click List is a JOKE. A few weeks ago I was here and waited 45 minutes with three young antsy kids in the car. Should have learned my lesson then. Yesterday I went to pick up my order in the pre-determined window only to get there and be told their system was down and it was not ready. No call or email notifying me because "we called everyone yesterday and barely anyone answered so we didn't see the point of calling people today." Verbatim. So I came back today to pick up my order. waited another 20 minutes and watched cars that came after me come and go. Finally flagged someone down for them to get my order. Once they brought it out, they said they didn't have the ground beef or chicken thighs I ordered (all the meat in my order). So I said, "there's no ground beef or chicken thighs in that entire store?" And was told not for the brand I ordered and that the person picking the order just must not have substituted. There's a reason the "substitutions allowed" box was checked but I guess the employee picking didn't want to spend the extra time to do that. Will not be doing Click List again. I am updating my review and lowering it. Nasty Customer service people and less service in all departments. I wont go into specifics but lets say I have noticed this over the past year. With Kroger struggling against competitors especially future Amazon Whole foods they are scrambling. This store never got the click n pickup service. Prices are higher than other locations because of loyal Anderson shoppers. They limit multiple coupons. They didnt expand the store as promised to trustees. I have found poor dating and poor produce. Flowers are poorer quality and more waiting at the deli seafood and meat counters. They are trying to squeeze every dollar out of it. read more

Always call the store first and ask for produce or nutrition if you want fresh ground peanut butter at the nuts and snacks by the pound section. We drive from Milford just for the freshly ground peanut butter. A good percentage the time this popular item is sold out even though there's an extra machine that sits empty all the time they lose a lot of money by not keeping two machines full of peanuts. read more

Since the remodel this whole place is a complete mess. The workers most of the time are not help at all (excluding a couple of helpful workers) and rude none the less. After calling the store twice and being hung up on after waiting 5 minutes on hold both time, I finally said can you hear me rather than asking the question I had originally asked and was answered with a nasty yes that had an absolutely unnecessary amount of attitude. So they obviously were hanging up on me on purpose. Following she says that the store is not open yet (wrong times from website and google). Absolutely terrible customer service by this employee who was clearly a grown woman acting like an aggravated child. This store needs to be more organized, friendly, and helpful. This store could be the most poorly run grocery store I have ever been in! I have to force myself to go each time and I only go because it is within 3 miles of me. Today was the last straw. It started by virtually no carts to be found in the lobby. Then the store was out of 3 items I planned on getting so I decided to just checkout with what I had and leave only to find 5 out of 25 check out lines were open. People were waiting 5 deep in the aisles to check out. Not a manager to be found. No one walking around showing any concern for those of us waiting in the lines. I have lived here in Anderson for the past few years and I have always loved going to this Kroger as the service has always been great. Tonight however, my girlfriend and I arrived at the store at around 10:40 pm to pick up some milk and water. As we arrived to the store we smiled as we walked in at this worker as she was the first worker that we seen and we were rudely greeted by her. The worker said "10 minutes" in a very nasty tone. To which I replied "it's okay we're just grabbing a couple things we won't be long" to which she then yelled at us in an even worse tone and said "you heard what I said, 10 minutes!!" . I don't understand why this worker had to be so rude with us. There were so many more ways she could have worded it to make us feel welcomed. But she did not at all. She was disgusting towards my girlfriend and I for no reason. We didn't even have a cart with us so it was obvious we weren't buying a whole lot of things. I hope this worker fixes their attitude because it was the far opposite of welcoming. I will no longer be attending this Kroger. read more

The biggest Kroger ever when it opened, this store is an impressive size. Some of the great things about this location are the Tortillaria and Chippery, where they make fresh tortillas and chips respectively. They also have a great section of freshly made hummus and bean salads. The organic and vegan selections are great as well. This Kroger is not the closest one for me, but it is the one I frequent most often because of its selections. The only bad part I would say is that because of its popularity it is sometimes out of things, and can get very crowded. read more

I have a Kroger a minute away from me but drive an extra few minutes just to go to this marketplace Kroger. On our weekly grocery trips this Kroger makes everything a one stop shop and is always clean, well-staffed and stocked. This Kroger has a sushi bar, Starbucks, their "chef on the run" options, a full deli and bakery and a HUGE natural/organic section. I love Kroger and we spend a majority of our grocery money there just because the pricing and options are better than other grocery chains around. My only gripe is parking - there is a lot of construction and bizzes popping up in Anderson Towne Center so parking is always a nightmare. Hopefully the extension for the new area of the towne center will open very soon and the parking with expand but for now it's always insane. Pro Tip: as most grocery stores are, avoid Kroger on Sundays. EVERYONE shops on Sundays so save yourself some time and pick another day of the week to shop. Pro Tip #2: make sure you have the Kroger app and download coupons on your plus card before you go and save $$$$$$$. read more

If god shopped at Kroger, he'd probably be shopping at this one. Grocery stores are never anyone's favorite places to go, but this one is pretty spectacular. I talked with one of the Kroger managers a few months ago, and she mentioned that this is one of the top income grocery stores in the entire country - and I can see why. A new kind of superstore for Kroger, the Anderson Towne Center store offers experiences above and beyond what most grocery stores can offer. They've expanded beyond basic groceries - they're not a department store like Meijer or Super Wal-Mart, though the new Newport location comes close - but they do sell books and kitchen items such as microwaves and mixers. There's also a jewelry store inside. Grocery list: eggs milk butter diamonds KitchenAid mixer home loan vaccine shots doughnuts Well, probably not - but you could still do all of that here. The real attraction to this store is the deli and produce areas. They've partnered with Murray's cheese store to provide training for employees and offer some of the best cheese selections outside of Findley Market or Jungle Jim's. They make their own tortillas, doughnuts, potato chips (five different kinds!) and mozzarella cheese fresh on location. There's a Mediterranean-themed cold bar, salad bar, hot chef's bar, cold chef's bar, dinner area, fresh sandwich shop, tons of artisan breads, pastry shop with chocolate-dipped everything, a Starbucks, gas station (outside), wine tastings, cooking classes, neighborhood clinic - clearly I could go on and on (and on) but I think you people get the idea. It's nuts, in that amazing but sprawling American suburbia way. So if you get hungry while shopping for groceries, get a sandwich, pull out your laptop (free Wi-Fi!) and sit a spell. Or just go tap on the lobster tanks, I don't know. But definitely stop in - as grocery stores go, it's top notch. read more

I went to this Kroger and there were two clerks that checked out my groceries. There names were Cole and Natalia. They were amazing. I forgot something and they said I could go get it. When I came back they had my groceries all scanned from out of my cart. Bagged and ready to scan what I had. They also had a kroger card for me since im new to the area from florida. They both worked as a team and also had such wonderful personalities and so well respected. I will make sure I return to this store. Had a great experience thank you. read more

These stores are so cool. I'm used to Publix (which I love) and Winn-Dixie (which I hate) but this store, especially this Beechmont one, is special. How do you have jewelry store inside? And a Starbucks? AND A SUSHI BAR!? I fell in love instantly. Their pricing kind of parallels what I am used to in Central Florida Publixes so that doesn't phase me. The people who work here are nice and helpful and I love that there are little sample stands everywhere. You can try different chips and dips, different breads, cheeses, etc. It's mind blowing! Haha. This place almost makes you want to go out grocery shopping. They've got tons of freshly made food over on the left side of the store, and all the regular stuff you'd expect throughout. They've got 3 kinds of fresh hummus on the salad bar (edamame, garlic, red pepper) and a lot of awesome bread. Very clean, nice supermarket. My only complaint is the PA system. Nearly every time I go I'm bombarded with announcements about calls waiting for customer service that repeat every 30 seconds or so. It's extremely annoying when I notice it but it's become a joke with my boyfriend. This one is a difficult one for me...on one hand, I love the produce section of this Kroger, most of the time you can find a great selection of organic produce, a great hot bar and warm food section, a bakery that looks fantastic...and if you have the urge, hit up the in house Starbucks to snag a latte before hitting up the in house jewelry store. Seriously, if I was buying a diamond necklace I'd go to Kroger, right? Downside? Weekends. And daily from 5-7pm...seriously it's miserable to park, dodge the other parking lot vulchers (and I mean vulchers, they'll run you down or cut you off...but really it's not Kroger's fault that people are that way, so no downgrade on Kroger's for that!). It's simply too busy for my taste during those times, but otherwise it's full well worth the stop to accomplish the grocery list here, they'll likely have what you want, and most generally have short checkout lines to boot! This Kroger is a bit on the uppity side, but what can you expect of an Anderson business? They do have a larger selection then their smaller stores, but there is a such thing as too much. I've only experienced good service from cashiers on their 3rd shift. Usually it is a cashier named Mike who is trying to run the self check out and his own lane and does a great job of it. During the evening hours you can find high school kids who are too busy talking to each other and can't be bothered. It's always nice when you have to tell your bagger thank you and the 16 year old gal can't be bothered to look at you and say "you're welcome". It's hard shopping at night because their 3rd shift blocks aisles with skids. I understand they need to be stocked, but how about putting the skids at the end of the aisles and not blocking whole areas? The store is large, but that doesn't always mean fresh. Their produce is better then at Mt. Washington, but you still will find some duds. Their meat selection is larger, but I find fresher at Findley or Beacon. Kroger as a whole is getting bad about their sales. They use to run $10 for $10 often and then it became $5 for 10 products and then $2 now $3 later if you buy $10. Most of the products are over priced or processed foods. I find going to Biggs/Remkees to be a better experience and you can find brands that you can not find at Kroger due to Kroger only wanting to sell you their own brand. What I did like about this store is their cheese section. I do like the Murray fresh cheeses, but you can find better cheese down at Findley for a much cheaper price. However, when I can't make it down there this is the store to hit up. read more

Don't bother with the pharmacy here. They are unfriendly, unhelpful, and downright unethical. Go to the Mt. Washington Kroger pharmacy instead. Anderson Kroger Pharmacy tried to overcharge me even though I had a coupon. They told me it was invalid at that location. It's valid at all Kroger locations. Mt. This location is sold out of a lot of the items. I attempted to purchase chili seasoning and apples and was told that if I see an empty spot in any of the shelves then those that item is no longer for sale I really did waste a whole lot of time coming down here looking to purchase my family food. I would never recommend shopping here to anyone for anything. If the shelf is empty which several of them are, and that item is off the market until further notice. I asked the manager when they would be filling the shelves again and she said that she did not now. Also I asked how I would be notified when the product is for sale again and I was told that I would not be notified. I don't know what further notice means if no notice is given when the items arrive. Please forgive the grammar, I am using voice to text because I am driving to the next nearest Kroger searching for apples and chili seasoning. My family has been out of town for two weeks and they are coming back tonight and I wanted to have nice things for them, but it seems Kroger is not helpful. read more

There is no avoiding this Kroger since it is our local Kroger. Thus it's pointless to act like my experiences here are so egregious that I'll swear off of it forever and drive further distances or shop at smaller/grosser locations as an act of fist-shaking defiance. But this Kroger. The shopping experiences here vary from positively dreadful to pleasantly carefree. It also varies dramatically by department. Departments with good employees and/or management (the two CAN be mutually exclusive, you see): 1. Sushi people - always nice and bubbly. 2. Produce people - they always ask if they can help you find anything. 3. Cheese people - so helpful and knowledgeable. The only things I know about cheese is that it's fatty and I like melting it on everything, so I get surprisingly helpful insight from this staff on putting together a fairly respectable cheese platter to serve to non-relatives. 4. Pastry ladies - they've always been nice and seem really excited about their sugary concoctions. They'll occasionally slip the kiddo a freebie (and if that gets anyone in trouble, then this location gets another star subtracted). 5. Meat department - these guys must hang out with the produce after-hours, because they always ask if they can help you find anything. They may hang out with the pastry ladies too, because they get very passionate about the quality of their product. 6. U-Scan attendants - There's a U-Scan girl there with glasses who is incredibly nice and I always feel a sense of loss when I don't see her working. There's an older guy there who is so eager to help and enthusiastic that it's borderline heart-warming. There's also a red-haired woman who gets sh*t done, bless her. Departments with horrible employees AND management (the two are NOT mutually exclusive): 1. Pharmacy. Ohmygod this Pharmacy, so bad. They always look OVER-staffed and OVERwhelmed. At any hour and any day. They have what looks like 10-20 employees per shift running around looking harried and frustrated and mad and freaked out. And seriously, please update my address info already. It's a damned circular dance each time when they look awestruck that my address hasn't been changed FROM MY PARENTS' address when I was a DEPENDENT. They get my last name wrong and always say, um, are you sure you're in our system? Yes, most definitely I am. My last name starts with an 'S', not an 'F'. My favorite is when I had a tech scream at me in their drive-thru at 7AM: "Do you know how many orders we fill daily? Like 10,000! We're not supposed to know how long your wait time is for us to find your RX that our automated system called and left you a voice message that it was ready for pick-up a day ago!" And let's not get started on their "automated system" that only likes to arbitrarily update me when my RX is ready, so I still have to call and check. I've transferred all but one of family's prescriptions to a CVS, because CVS is painless and fast, their notification system is rockstar (text and email reminders to refill and pick-up), and these particular prescriptions are FREE at CVS! (Let's just say this adds up to $50/monthly in savings). 2. Checkout. Checkout is painful. Because the U-Scan attendants are usually very competent, and my bagging/scanning/memory retention for the four-digit produce numbers are FTW, 90% of the time I opt for U-Scan. Sometimes though I'm dog-tired and my grocery load is mountainous, and for the other 10% of the time I go through checkout. And for the next 30 minutes I hate myself for that decision. Torn bags. Squashed bread. Angrily bruised bananas. A level of slow that takes all the grace of Oprah for me to avoid screaming "I JUST WANNA GET HOME FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND GOOD IT IS9PMONAWORKDAYANDISTILLHAVEWORKTODOANDSCHOOLLUNCHTOPACK!" And I know the process is inexcusably slow and tedious since I was your smiling u-scan attendant/checkout girl for all four years of undergrad at my university's campus Kroger (whilst sneaking peaks at my homework assignments or covertly reading. We all did it, it's fine). 3. Their point system. It isn't a department, but it's still faulty. I watch our balance like a hawk and sometimes we aren't credited for the amount that we should have. Most recently, my spouse was told that he had won 500 points when he checked out roses for me (awwww). I fueled up up last night and there was no record of these points, just the 300 points from the groceries I had just purchased. Rant over. And I forgot fresh cilantro, which unfortunately I can't pick up at the Walgreens near my work, so I will have to stop here :( read more

I like this Kroger, but the people that stock shelves and walk around seem to be very annoyed when you ask them about... anything. One question actually got "Can't you read?" as the answer. In a hurry, this place is really inconvenient. One, because no one wants to help you, and two, the sheer size. But I regress, I always find what I need (usually 800 versions of what I need at every price point imaginable) This is a very clean Kroger and has a decent book area and the world's fastest Starbucks within. Produce section is pretty top notch too. And hey, they occasionally give out free FULL-SIZE doughnuts near the bakery in one of those 'free sample' platters. Oh, this Kroger will be the death of me. I try to limit myself to going here for when I need a special ingredient, or need to make a special meal. Otherwise I wind up tripling my budget on fun finds like gourmet cheeses, specialty sauces or exotic fruits. I have been shopping at Anderson Towne Center Kroger for many years and love the fact that added chefs in the store make my decision making & shopping experience a whole lot easier.On two recent occasions I was pointed in the direction of Chef Ray and immediately felt at ease and comfortable in the conversations we had with dinner decision making. Not only was he able to help me focus on what I needed, he helped me do it all on a budget and even showed me where to find products. I will definitely ask for Chef Ray in the future.
