Amongst many other things, today I went in for some Tide detergent. I was please to see that it was marked down $3/jug. There was a yellow sign that said "now $12.99." Those signs are usually reserved for using the Kroger Plus cards, that I was and have been using for well over 10 years. They have me registered in their system with my name, address, etc. so they can target maker me to their intrusive hearts content. I bring my jug of Tide to the front and scan it. It says it's $15.99, no discount for using their intrusive Kroger Plus card. I mention this to the attendant and she (politely) explained that it was an online coupon only and that I was going to have to go somewhere and download an app, or go to their web site or something. I mean, I already used THEIR discount card. Why do they make it overly complicated? How much info do they need on my buying habits? Synch up your systems, Kroger. This chain has become a last resort for me. They have the products I need, but their prices have been increasing and I just don't think they're worth it. I think they don't treat a lot of their hourly employees very well. I will go to a different local only store, or even a smaller chain store to get my groceries. I pay less and it's a more pleasant experience. read more

Kroger will not deliver any of their affordable cuts of beef. They have restricted "Instacart" delivery to the most expensive cuts of beef, unfairly harming the elderly and disabled by denying them delivery of beef cuts they can afford. Kroger will only deliver ribeye steaks, New York strip steaks, or sirloin steaks, but have marked top round, bottom round, and chuck and chuck eye steaks as "in store ONLY." It is abundantly clear that they have done so in order to make more money at the expense of those least able to travel to the store in person. I have spinal arthritis -degenerative disc disease - and cannot shop "in person." I rely on Kroger to deliver my groceries. But I cannot afford steaks at $15.99 and $16.99 a pound. But the affordable steaks priced at $8.99 and $9.99 per pound are DENIED a delivery option, despite being part of a larger order. If you sell it; deliver it. Stop forcing the infirm to travel to the store in person, buy the more expensive option, or go without. read more

I always hear how "scary" or "rough" this Kroger is but I completely disagree. If you hear these things, stop in for yourself and I bet you'll be surprised! If you want a marketplace variety, this Kroger is not for you. There's no sushi bar nor salad/dip bar. This is an old fashioned Kroger, I love the simplicity. It's a nice getaway from the headache of hundreds of people packed into a grocery store. Parking is moderate. The lot is odd shaped because of two banks that share the area but you can always find a spot. They've recently remodeled, slapped on a fresh coat of paint and buffed out the floors. It looks great compared to the outdated decor before! Sadly their floral area is no more. They have a very small cooler of bouquets, I do miss the florals. However, they replaced it with a decent sized liquor area that I've utilized a few times. Nice prices and they card no matter what. I've seen older people turned away with no ID. The workers behind the meat/seafood counter are so nice! They always thoroughly explain how to cook a better fish or meat dish. The center food aisle are to be expected, nothing special. The beer aisle is nice, with a decent selection of craft beer! I do love the prices here, they seem less. I love digital coupons and definitely recommend you to use them! The absolute BEST part of this store: the people. The cashiers and stockers always have you leaving feeling good. They are the most friendly group of employees at any store I've been to, and that says a lot. They're never just sitting around, always keeping themselves busy and truly serving others. That's not to say they don't share their life story with you, as mentioned by another Yelper, they mean well. Love my neighborhood store. read more

As far as Krogers go this one needs some help. The location is only convenient if you're going North on Beechmont and can right turn in and right turn out. I've seen endcaps of bottled water that have been torn open and bottles removed. The actual selection of food is sparse, shelves are seldom fully stocked. The music selection can't be sanctioned by Kroger- I've heard some pretty suggestive, misogynistic lyrics playing through the tinny speakers. The aisles are so narrow that if you're behind someone examining every can of soup you're stuck there until they decide to move. Most of the employees ignore the customers, which I'm not mad about, but at the very least they should be stocking instead of looking at their phones. Just skip this location and go to the Five Mile Kroger. read more

Food is always fresh, they have great sales on meat. Store is commonly clean and ordered. Employees stand in front of the store and smoke cigarettes and stare at the customers walking in. Good luck checking out. You will probably stand in line for longer than you shopped. This store rarely has more than one human checkers even when there is a substantial line! They even leave half of the self checkout closed while a line piles up and workers stand behind customer service desk and talk. I see this almost every time I come in. Have to start going to the larger Kroger down the st because it takes less time even tho it's a bigger store. Open to changing my review in the future. read more

I was in your store tonight, helping a disabled lady shop. I had difficulty finding boxes of raisins. Carolyn from deli was very helpful and found them for me. Then later I discovered I had lost my cellphone. Customer service was closed. But several employees took the time to listen and went to get my cellphone . I didn't get all their names but everyone, including Carolyn, deserve a raise. Tried going here instead of my regular Kroger, and was very disappointed. I only had to pick up a few things, and thought to grab apples while I was there. Low and behold, the price on the apples were marked incorrectly (2$ more than what was advertised). When I asked the u-scan clerk to remove the apples, because the prices were conflicting, he first ignored me (I was the only person at the u-scan). So I repeated myself, thinking maybe he didn't hear me, and I always mind my P's and Q's by the way. He turned to me, didn't say a word (might have even rolled my eyes, but I always give people the benefit of the doubt), walked over to my stand, fixed it, snatched the apples and threw them on his stand. This short visit definitely convinced me to never come back. I hope this Kroger is able to find employees that appreciate having a job, like the other locations I've been! I also hope the managers stop the bait and switch. This is a really bad habit across the city, and is really upsetting long term customers. Compared to the Anderson Township Kroger, which you hear reports is the busiest Kroger in the land, this location is nothing like it and that's exactly why I like it. I don't mind going a little later at night even if it means I'll be using the self check and bagging my stuff, I prefer to pack in as few bags (which I bring) as possible. After walking through the breads and produce, you don't have to walk around patio tables and a jewelry store to get to the rest of the groceries. There is still some general merchandise that I'd rather not see and instead more variety of groceries, but eh. I find I can move through this store pretty quickly and that's key for me since I detest grocery shopping (yes, I've tried shopping late at night at Anderson and the staff blocks aisles with stocking or cherry pickers changing light bulbs that you can't get what you want and no, they don't offer to move). The hidden gem of this store is the floral department. On the wall, they have some separated them out by price so you can shop in your price range. If there's some one the department, you can ask them to remove the plastic wrap and put in tissue paper with ribbon so it looks like you went to a florist. read more

I love this Kroger's, not just because of what it is, but also because of what it is not. It's not a mega-box-beheamoth where you need to park in 7F, walk through a bank, a clinic, a jeweler, home furnishings, and the sushi station just to get what you need for dinner. This Kroger probably has what you need and, depending on what you're looking for, you can be in and out in minutes. It's selection is decent. If you're looking for imported, organic, free-range kale you might be S.O.L., but if you just need basic ingredients that pretty much every supermarket stocks anyway...you got it. Plus they have a friendly staff, and you usually get through check-out in good time. I don't know if Kroger's checks yelp, but if they do let me say: Please build more Kroger's like this. I know the tendency is to build Wal-Mart approximations, but I think your customers would be better served by having smaller, but still well stocked stores that are the focal point of the neighborhood, rather that the anchor in some strip-mall. read more

UGH I hate this place so much. I go here for emergencies. What a horrible place to shop. I hate parking here. The parking lot really sucks. Also, I can barely ever find the things I want here. The produce isn't that great, either. Compare to the produce just down the street at the other Kroger. The worse the neighborhood, the worse the produce at Kroger. Sorry if you're poor, because your produce will rot. Do you know that Kroger plays shit songs and the employees are supposed to stop what they're doing for self reflection? As if. I was all like, "Why do I hear Man In the Mirror every time I go to Kroger?" (it's Happy now, btw) Can you imagine the kind of douches who would come up with that idea? I don't want to shop at their store. The only thing I like here at this Kroger is that the cashiers and baggers are nice. They don't get paid enough, though. read more

I really hate this Kroger, but I brave it all the time because it is closer to me then Anderson. The employees spend more time talking with each other (especially the cashiers) then their customers and I laugh when I see bill board signs about fast check out because it never happens at this store. You are lucky to find a register open (other then self check out) at night. Their produce is awful. There isn't a very large selection and I always have problems with molded and rotted tomatoes and grapes in this store. I've sent feedback to the store and get the typical response, but nothing changes. Now, their parking! It is awful. They have one main entrance in and out and gets backed up after 3 cars. Their only path to this entrance is right in front of the store so people walking to the lot are dodging cars. During later hours I've seen idiots not even stop at the signs and nearly hit people. I'm really waiting for this to happen and Kroger will have a suit on their hands. I'm not sure who designed this lot, but they should be fired. read more

This Kroger doesn't have the best selection of items and is often out of a lot of things. The staff is looks a little rough and they tend to tell you about ALL of their problems when you are checking out but they mean well. We have had a lot of issues with their produce but we love their meat department. It can be hit or miss. Parking can be a pain. BUT it's SO much better than driving to the marketplace in Anderson and parking a mile away and waiting in long lines to check out. It's our neighborhood Kroger and we will continue to shop here for day to day items and then go to other stores when we need more specific ingredients. read more

I love this store, it was small store but it is easy to find things. I have been shopping at Mr. Washington Kroger for many year and love the fact that added chefs in the store make my decision and shopping experience a whole lot easier. The parking lot itself discourages me from going. It is entirely too small And crowded for the Kroger. It's an accident waiting to happen. As for the store itself, it isnt a spacious new Kroger layout, just the standard Kroger. If it weren't for the parking lot, I would shop there more often, but I prefer to go the next grocery store instead. read more

This is my new home store. I live 2 minutes from the Anderson Kroger but will never step foot there again! Here I can navigate the isles and find what I need quickly. No spider isles cluttered with things I wouldnt buy anyway. The store is clean and staff helpful .The produce looked good but could add to their selection. I was just at the Deli counter, and was ignored twice, granted I just ran up there in some shorts & a hoodie. So I guess it's my fault that I couldn't get any service. Point being, when I am dressed up in work clothes, it's OK, but otherwise you get the worst service from some very "special" and lazy workers. A Low-end Kroger for sure. read more
