I wanted a natural, lived-in blonde that would be low-maintenance enough for me to only come in 2-3 times a year. She totally nailed it. I can honestly talk on and on about how she is truly the most amazing and talented person ever, a true angel and my favorite person ever. I wanted to do something fun, creative, wild, and different with my hair, and Gale was pivotal in the gameplan. She has such an insane grasp of color knowledge and hair knowledge, I am just always amazed at her ability to look at my hair and know exactly how and what we can do to make it work. I'm admittedly lazy and bad at making appointments (she obviously knows this by now lol), so she ensured that my crazy hair color journey will have some room for hair growth and not have such a jarring/awkward phase. Communicating with Jacqueline and scheduling the haircut was easy breezy. The salon is very cute, and I like that the space gets lots of happy sunlight. Jacqueline is very friendly with a gentle touch. I'm really sensitive and don't like it when stylists brush my hair harshly (like the mother in Like Water for Chocolate), which sometimes happens. As she is an apprentice, if you book during one of these apprentice slots, you will need to be a little more patient and a little more understanding, but I really loved my experience and cut.

Denise Carvajal is hands down the best stylist I've ever had and I've been coloring my hair for decades. She specializes in blondes and is everything I was looking for: highly skilled, a great listener, empathetic and experienced. She really gets how important the outcome of your visit is for you! She's got a great problem solving approach. A previous stylist was having difficulty getting my hair to a nice bright blonde but somehow Denise figured it out also without damaging it. This time it was the main girl who handles scheduling (last time she wasn't there and another staff member who helps with blow-drying was covering, and that experience was just as annoying). During my appointment -- while I literally had hair all over my face -- she walked up asking me to book my next appointment and pay. I had to tell her I couldn't even see because there was clearly hair covering my face. It was obvious. It just felt like she wasn't reading the room at all. Moments like that really disrupt the vibe of the appointment. It feels unprofessional and honestly gives me the ick. When someone interrupts the flow like that, it takes away from the experience and, in my opinion, probably affects people's tips too because it kills the mood right before checkout. Obviously, I'm gonna pay before I leave and schedule my next appointment. I feel like she doesn't read the room and comes at the most inconvenient time. It's kind of a buzz kill. I genuinely like my stylist and the work he does, but if this continues to happen, I might have to reconsider coming back.

She made me completely blonde from brown and I went back to bleach my dark roots and not only did they make my roots more brown and look more grown out but the girl who did it, Romy, cussed me out and called me names like dumb and stupid. The manager Katerina tried to fix with the little time she had but it still didn't do much of anything. They wouldn't give any type of refund for messing up and also not cutting my hair like I had booked over a month prior to my appointment. My head was very itchy and later that week I noticed it bleeding. To my surprise I ended up with a very noticeable bald spot. I have never hated more of how I look because of a salon.
